Shaped watch The present invention relates to a shaped watch, the case of which has for its bottom a round opening of diameter corresponding to the width of its shaped movement.
This watch is characterized by a recess made in the middle part of the case so that, by biasing the movement into the latter, it is possible to rest its end, barrel side, on the bottom of said recess and make it penetrate its other end through said round opening to place the thread for fitting this second end in a circular groove in the middle part, its casing surface resting against a corresponding surface of the middle part, the movement thus being centered in the box then fixed, its dial resting against a component part of the latter.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a bottom plan view of a watch.
Fig. 2 is a section along 11-I1 of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a section similar to that of FIG. 2, the watch being turned over and the movement being represented during its in troduction in the case. Fig. 4 is a section along IV-IV of FIG. 1, on a larger scale.
Fig. 5 is a section similar to that of FIG. 2 of another embodiment.
Fig. 6 shows a variant seen in top plan.
The watch of the form shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 includes a caseband-bezel 1 longer than it is wide, with handles 2, in which a lens 3 is fitted tightly against the wall 4, partially slightly conical, of a bezel core by a rack metal 5 forced inside the rim 3a of the lens, after mounting the latter in the bezel.
Its round bottom, designated by 6, is assembled in a sealed manner by simply forcing its cylindrical rim 6a inside the similar hole 7 of a ring 8, made of a solid non-metallic material, elastically deformable, which fits. found solidly mounted in a core of the middle. This ring 8 can be made from one of the products of mar that plexiglas, Kel-F or celoron, for example.
Movement 9 is in the shape of a barrel; its large dimension is greater than the diameter of the hole 7 of the box body since this hole corresponds, FIG. 1 proves it, with the width of the movement, so that the case is as narrow as possible. A lateral recess 10, made in the middle part of the case, is intended to receive the end of the movement, on the back side, when it is introduced obliquely into the case, as shown in FIG. 3.
The opposite end of the movement, on the balance side, can then enter it through the hole 7 of the latter in which it will slide laterally, its dial 11 resting on the ring 5, until its thread of casing 12 has entered a concentric inner groove 13 of the box body 1, that is to say until the movement is centered there by the two circular surfaces 9a of its plate, separated here by a surface plane 9b and which bear against the inner wall of the same diameter of the box. The movement is fixed in the case by unscrewing a screw 14 taking in its plate 15 (fig. 4), screw whose head 14a is gui dée by the wall of the hole 16 made in the barrel bridge 17 and acts on a bearing surface. axial oblique 18 of the gearbox body 1.
Thanks to the obliquity of this range 18, the force applied by the screw on the movement has a component parallel to the axis which applies the dial 11 against the ring 5 and a transverse component applying the movement against the inner wall of the movement. middle-bezel 1, opposite the recess 10. To introduce and remove the movement from its case, the screw must be fully screwed in so that its head 14a, presenting two cross-shaped slots to facilitate its control, either completely embedded in the thickness of the bridge 17.
The embodiment of FIG. 5 differs from the first mainly in that the glass fixing ring, designated by 19, has a core 20 in which the dial 11 of the movement 9 is partially housed. The wall of this core 20 is very slightly inclined. (frustoconical) so as to allow, the movement being slightly inclined, to penetrate, on the one hand, the thread 12 of its plate in the groove 13 of the case middle - bezel of the case and, on the other hand, the dial in said core to make it rest on the bottom thereof, a position in which the movement can then be fixed.
It is therefore the dial which, in this case, locates the movement in the case and no longer its plate; consequently, the dial will therefore always be perfectly centered with respect to the fixing ring 19 of the glass and of the latter. This way of proceeding ensures that the movement will not be able to move in its box when it is fixed there, for example by a screw as shown in FIG. 4. The back 22 is screwed at 23 into the caseband-bezel 21; the gasket is designated by 24.
Fig. 6 shows an alternative embodiment in which the handles 2 of the box, of the two other embodiments described, have been replaced by studs 25, which gives the illusion that the box is round and of corresponding diameter, by example to the width of that of FIG. 1, this because its ends are hidden in the studs.
