Process for the preparation of a new trisazo dye. The subject of the present patent is a process for the preparation of a new trisazo dye, which consists in that 1 -hol? -Amino-5-oxynaphthalene- "7-sulforic acid,
1 mol of the Diazov compound from the amino monoazo dye obtainable by coupling diazotized 4-amino-1-oxy-2-carboxybenzene-6-sulfonic acid with 1- amino-2-ethoxynaphthalene, 1 mol of cyanuric chloride,
1 mol of aminobenzene and 1 mol of the aminomonoazo dye obtainable by coupling diazotized 4-amino-3 @ carbo-oxybenzene-1-sulfonic acid with 1- (4 '- amino) - phenyl - 3 - methyl - -5 - pyrazolone can act on one another that the diazo compound intervenes in the 6-position of 2-amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid,
and that each hydrogen atom of the amino groups of 2-amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid, the amino-monoazo dye from diazotized 4-amino-3-carboxybenzene-1-sulfonic acid and 1- (4'-amino) -phenyl- 3-methyl-5-pyrazolone and the aminobenzene reacts with one halogen atom of the cyanuric chloride.
The new trisazo dye forms a dark powder and dyes cotton in blue, green tones, which are treated with copper sulfate or a copper-containing polyalkylenepolyamine to make them extremely wash- and lightfast.
In the following example the parts mean weight parts. Example: For a suspension of 18; 5 parts of finely ground cyanuric chloride in ice water, a neutral solution of 23 ', 9' parts 2 = amino- Add dropwise 5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid in 400 parts of water. The temperature of the condensation mass is kept between 0 and 39.
A sodium carbonate solution is added dropwise to ensure that the mass always reacts slightly acidic. It is then slowly warmed to 20, mixed with a neutral 40 warm solution of 41.7 parts of 4-amino-3-carboxybenzene-1-sulfonic acid, which has been diazotized by coupling with 1- (4'-amino)
- Phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone available aminomonoazo dye and heats the whole thing to 40 for about 2 hours, again providing a weakly acidic reaction medium by adding dropwise a dilute sodium carbonate solution.
Finally, 20 parts of aminobenzene are added to the mass, heated to 90 to 95 for 2 hours, then rendered slightly alkaline by adding a little sodium carbonate, and the ternary condensation product is isolated therefrom in the usual way.
c 8.2.4 parts of the ternary condensation product are at 0 to 5 'in a mixture of 300 parts of water and 600' parts of pyridine with the diazo compound prepared in a known manner from 43,
1 'parts of the aminomonoazo dye obtainable by c I coupling of diazotized 4-amino-1-oxy-2-carboxybenzene-6-sulfonic acid with 1-amino-2-ethoxynaphthalene. One lets. stir the coupling compound overnight, the next day salt out the trisazo dye formed at room temperature and filter it off. By dissolving the filter cake in water, it is freed from impurities and finally dried.
