à l'a.-Litre.
Piston machine. The invention relates to a piston machine comprising a rotary block having cylinders arranged in a star, in which pistons are housed, characterized in that the pistons are connected to. connecting rods, the heads of which are articulated on a member mounted to rotate along an axis parallel and offset from the axis of rotation of the block, the latter being connected to said member by cranks, and in that it comprises a device (the central distribution comprising a conical member which has suction and exhaust ducts and which is housed in a conical seat, coaxial with the block, seat in which slots are made in communication with the cylinders,
- Said member being kept applied against this seat in such a way that it moves axially when the frictional force between the seat and the member exceeds a given value.
The machine according to the invention can. constitute either a controlled machine, such as a compressor or a pump, or a motor.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the object (the invention.
Figs, 1. and 2 are, respectively, an axial section and a transverse section, along 11-II of fig. 1, a compressor.
Figs. 3, 4 and 5 are, respectively, a longitudinal section and two transverse sections, according to IV-IV and V-V of fig. 3, a distribution device.
The compressor shown comprises a housing 1, in several parts, having on one side a sleeve 2 and, on the other side, a sleeve 3, the axes of these sleeves 2 being parallel and offset with respect to one another. to the a.-Liter. In the sleeve 3 and. in a cover 3a. which closes it at one end are arranged two ball bearings 4 and 5 in which is supported a shaft 6; on this is, idly mounted a wheel 9 forming part of a geared lubricating pump, the other wheel 1.0 of which is actuated by a toothed wheel 11 controlled by the shaft 6. The wheels 9 and 10 are housed in a partition of the man chon 3, through which extends the shaft 6 which, on either side of this partition, is.
surrounded by a sealing device 2, the arbor 6 carries at its inner end, inside the casing 1, a disc 12 provided with a cylindrical peripheral part 12u.
In the sleeve 2 are mounted two bearings. balls 13 and 14 whose axes are. parallel and offset with respect to the axis of the shaft 6, and which support a hollow shaft 15 provided, at its end housed inside the housing 1, with a flange on which a block 16 is fixed. This comprises six cylinders 17 arranged in a star, inside which the pistons 18 may slide; these pistons are connected to connecting rods 19, the heads of which are mounted on pins 20 mounted in turn in surfaces formed in annular flanges 12b which the cylindrical part 12a of disc 1.2 has internally.
In this disc are pivoted the ends 21 of my level 22 whose other ends 23 are. journalled in bosses that has the block 16. The distance between the axes of each crank is equal to the distance between the axis of the shaft 6 integral with the disc 12 and the axis of the shaft 15 integral with the block.
The block has a central cavity in which is fixed a sleeve 24 presenting. a frustoconical seat coaxial with the block, into which openings 25 open which provide communication with the heads of the cylinders. In this seat is housed a conical member 26 which can. slide along two parts 27a. and 28 of different diameter from a hollow shaft 27, coaxial with the shaft 15 and integral with a part 2a. mounted at the outer end of the sleeve 2.
The member 26 is such that it defines around the parts 27a, and. 28 an annular chamber 29 in which is housed a spring 30; this one, taking. support against the shoulder formed at. the junction of said parts 27a. and 28, constantly urges the conical member 26 to apply against its frustoconical seat. On the part 28 of the axis 27 is mounted a sleeve 31 whose axial position is adjustable and which carries rollers 32 of which. the axes are. perpendicular to the axis 27. These rollers are in contact with their notches 33 in V formed at the end of the small end of the conical member 26.
This has a passage 34 capable of successively communicating, as a result of the rotation of the block 16, each liunière 25 with the chamber 29; this is connected, in turn, through holes 35, to. the cavity of the hollow and fixed shaft 27. In addition, in a. The periphery of the member 26 is hollowed out, facing the slots 25, a passage 36 in profile in an arc of a circle, the angular extent of which depends on the number of cylinders. Passage 36 communicates. using several holes 37 with the annular space 38 comprised between the fixed axis 27 and the hollow shaft 15; this. space in turn communicates with a pipe 39.
The compressor described operates as follows: The fluid to be compressed is. introduced to. tra towards the pipe 39 in the passage 36, from where it is sucked into the cylinders by the pistons, since the latter, when the assembly turns according to the arrow (fig. 2.), move away. radially of the axis of block 16 in passing. from the position below. the upper position of FIG. 2, thanks to the offset between the axis of rotation of the block 16 and the key axis of rotation of the disc 1.2.
During the downstroke, always looking at fig. 2, the pistons compress the fluid in the corresponding cylinders to then deliver it, to. through the passage 31, into the chamber 29, then, through the holes 35, into the cavity of the hollow shaft 27 which constitutes the delivery pipe. The shaft 6 constitutes the motor shaft and drives the block 16 by means of the cranks '22.
If the. machine must. to function as a motor, modifications are made to it with regard to the angular extent of the pitch 36, the dimension of the passage 34 and the arrangement of the key distribution device as a whole. In this case, the thirsty working fluid pressure is, via the conduit formed by the hollow shaft 27, in the cylinders through the passage 34, then it is. evacuated to. through passage 36 and the conduit 39; the direction of rotation is opposite to that of the previous example.
The conical member 26 is held pressed against its conical seat by the spring. 30 to ensure tightness. When the friction force. between the member and the conical seat increases, for some reason, and exceeds a given value, the rotary block 16 tends to, rotate the conical cane 26 around the fixed shaft 27, but in in this case the rollers 32, due to their contact with the ramps 33 in V, produce a slight axial displacement of the member 26 (to the right, looking at figs. 1 and. 3) so as to unstuck this. said seat member 24 and thus reduce the friction force.
