Pompe.
Pump. This invention relates to a pump, characterized by an oscillating cylinder provided with a journal with an axis perpendicular to the axis of its bore and engaged in an eccentric housing of the end of a control shaft with an axis parallel to it. that of the journal, the cylinder being provided with a flat face which is at right angles to the axis of said shaft and which slides on a corresponding flat face of a casing of the pump, a piston disposed in the bore the cylinder being connected to an eccentric carried by a second drive shaft parallel to the first shaft and driven at the same speed, but in the opposite direction, a connecting duct.
the working chamber of the cylinder has an orifice in the face of this cylinder which slides against said face of the casing, two orifices being provided in this face of the casing and coinciding. respectively with a discharge line and a suction line for the fluid, the orifices being arranged so that the movements of the cylinder lead its working chamber to communicate with the discharge line during the discharge stroke, of the piston and with the suction line during the suction stroke.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section of this embodiment. Fig. 2 is a section through 5-5 of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a section enlarged by 6-6 of FIG. 1 looking in the direction of the arrows.
Fig. 1 is a partial front elevation of this embodiment on a smaller scale.
Fig. 5 is a sectional view similar to FIG. 3, but with the elements adjusted, in order to obtain a greater flow.
The pump shown comprises a casing comprising a block 118 in one of the faces of which is formed a chamber 218, 220 having the shape of two cylinders which intersect, as seen in FIG. 3.
Placed in this chamber 218, 220 is a cylinder in the form of a circular disk 66 provided with a cylindrical bore 224.
The cylinder 66 is provided, on one of its faces, with a cylindrical journal 266 of which. the axis is perpendicular to the opposite face of the cylinder 66 and to the axis of the bore 224. A shaft 120 rotates in the block 118 and is provided at one end with an eccentric bore 230 with an axis parallel to that of this shaft and in which the journal 226 is engaged.
A ball 232 is disposed between the bottom of the bore 230 and the end of the journal 226. Thus, during the rotation of the shaft 120, the cylinder 66 will oscillate around the axis of the journal, which axis will rotate around the axis. 'shaft axis 120.
The flat end wall 234 of the chamber 218, 220, presented by a cover 16 of the casing closing this chamber, is provided with two spaced orifices 74 and 76 serving for the admission and delivery of oil in the chamber. cylinder working chamber dre 66 and out of it.
The cylinder 66 is provided with a duct 7 \ _ 'which communicates at one end with the working chamber of this cylinder. The other end of conduit 72 terminates in an orifice opening into the planar face of cylinder 66, opposite to the journal perpendicular to. the axis of the latter and which slides on the face 234 of the cover 16. This orifice communicates alternately with the orifices 74 and 76.
A second shaft 244 is mounted to rotate in block 118 parallel to the first shaft 120. Engaged gears 246 and 248 are attached to shafts 120 and 244 respectively, so that these shafts rotate. at the same speed, but in the opposite direction. Tree 244 is. hollow and. one of its ends is provided with parallel flat faces 250. In addition, the shaft 244 protrudes into the chamber 218, 220, in which is disposed an eccentric plate 70 provided with a central opening having two opposite flat faces , parallels 254.
This eccentric plate is engaged on the shaft 244 with its faces 254 in contact with the faces 2.50, so that it can be moved transversely, the flat faces 254 of its opening sliding on the flat faces of the shaft - 244. A rod 256 slides axially. in the hollow shaft 244.
Rod 256 and shaft 244 are formed so that they cannot rotate relative to each other. The rod 256 is provided with a wedge-shaped cam face 258, against which an adjustment plate 260 bears, passing through a slot in the shaft 244 and being able to move radially, the outer end of the plate 260 bearing against one end of the central opening of the eccentric plate 70.
A compression spring 26, r disposed in a transverse bore of the shaft 244 carries at one end the rod 256 and at its other end against the other end of the opening 254 of the eccentric plate 70. The spring 262 pushes the eccentric plate to a position of greater eccentricity with respect to. shaft 244, while wedge-shaped face 258 of rod 256, when depressed, moves plate 260 so as to. reduce the eccentricity of the eccentric plate 70.
In the position shown in figs. 1 and 3, the axis said eccentric plate 70 occupies a position of maximum eccentricity. The adjustment of the rod 256, the displacement of which, ifie the eccentricity of the plate 70, is effected by means of the screw 122 screwed into the cover 16 and bearing by its inner end against the rod 256.
The outer end of screw 122 is. provided with a notch 268 to receive a screwdriver or the like.
An indicator dial 270 bearing a graduation cooperates with the screw 122 and is. dragged in rotation by it. The envelope is marked with marks to indicate the rigidity of the plate 70.
Dial 270 rotates on a screw 272 which is secured in cover 16 of the casing. A spring 274 disposed in the hollow shaft 244 between a pin 276 and one end of the rod 256 pushes it to the right against the end of the screw 122.
An eccentric collar 280, in which the plate 70 is engaged, is secured to a piston 68 sliding in the bore 224 of the cylinder 66 and performing a reciprocating movement relative to the cylinder 66 during rotation. shafts 120 and 244, so that the cylinder 66 oscillates in the chamber 218. 220. The arrangement is such that the orifice of the duct 72 communicates with the inlet orifice 74 during the suction stroke of the. piston and with the discharge port 76 during the discharge stroke.
When the pump members occupy the position shown in FIGS. 1 and 3, the flow rate is low since there is little or no movement between the piston 68 and the cylinder 66. By adjusting the eccentric plate 70, as described. above, the. piston stroke 68 will lengthen.
When the eccentric plate 70 is. adjusted to its minimum eccentricity with respect to the shaft 2-14 (fig. 5), that is to say coaxial with it, the flow will be at its maximum, since there will be a maximum relative movement between piston 68 and cylinder.
It is however obvious that in this position, the piston 68 will not be driven by a reciprocating movement, but will only oscillate around the axis of the shaft 244.
Face 234 of chamber 218, 220 is finely finished, and cylinder 66 is. pushed against this face by a spring. 290. This spring. 290 is supported on a shoulder 292 of the shaft 120 to push the latter axially to the right. Thus, there will be a tight seal between the flat right face of cylinder 66 and face 234 and the rotational movement of disc 66 will be. a rubbing action. on the closure faces, which is advantageous for maintaining a tight seal.
The spring 290 is disposed in the cavity 302 of the block 118 and. bears at its other end against a sealing device 304 for the shaft.
The toothed wheels 246 and 48 are housed in a cavity 18 formed in the block 118 and closed by a cover through which the shaft 120 passes. The wheel 246 is connected by means of a pin to the shaft 120 to rotate with this. latest. This is. also the case for the wheel 248 relative to the shaft 244, the connection being effected by the pin 276 forming a seat for one end of the spring 274. The wheels 246 and 248 constitute the gear of a pumping device with suction gear. oil.
An inlet port 310 coincides with the cavity 18 for supplying it with oil from a suction duct, whereby a key outlet port 312 communicates with the cavity 18 for carrying the oil back. - stride. The discharge port 312 is connected by the cylinder suction duct 66 with the inlet port 74. The port 76 leads to. a discharge line.
Since oil can escape through cavity 18 around the shaft to chamber 218, 220, a conduit 314 communicates through one end with chamber 218, 220 and through the other end with the chamber. 'inlet port 310. In this way, any oil escaping into chamber 218, 220 is. eliminated from it.
In fig. 5, the piston 68 is shown a little shorter than in FIG. 3.
