EMI0002.0025
Pendant ce déplacement la chemise 14 est fixe. La rotation de
EMI0002.0026
est donc transmise à l'arbre can- nelé 13.
Device for the production of a discontinuous rotational movement Numerous devices allow the transformation of reciprocating rectilinear movements into rotational movement.
Some of these devices comprise a cylindrical part movable inside a cylinder and subjected to reciprocating axial forces, a mechanism comprising a helical groove in which a finger is engaged and capable of imparting helical movements to said part. cylindrical under the effect of said forces and means for transforming these helical displacements into rotational movement.
Fig. 1 shows a device of this type. The rod 1 is subjected to a reciprocating rectilinear movement transmitted by a single-acting piston 2 moving in the cylinder 3, the intake 4 and exhaust 5 valves of which are shown schematically. Two discs 1 and 1 ', integral with the rod 1 and possibly bearing ball bearings, make this rod integral in translation with a cylindrical part 6, which moves with the rod 1 inside a second cylinder 7. The part 6 is my loose tee relative to the rod 1 and can thus perform rotational movements relative to the latter.
The part 6 has a helical groove 8, in which a finger 9 integral with the cylinder 7 is engaged. The total stroke of the part 6 in the cylinder dre 7 corresponds to the movement of the entire groove 8 on the finger 9, which results in a helical displacement of determined angle of this part 6. The latter communicates the component of rotation of this helical movement to the splined shaft 10; the rotary movement resulting from this axis is reciprocating.
The present invention relates to a device for producing a continuous rotational movement comprising a cylindrical part moving inside a cylinder, on which reciprocating forces are intended to be exerted and which, by means of a mechanism comprising a helical groove and a finger engaged in the latter, is subjected to helical movements when said forces are exerted, and means for then transforming these helical movements into rotational movement. These means could, for example, be constituted by a splined shaft.
The device according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises, between said cylindrical part and said cylinder, an intermediate cylindrical liner, fitted to said part and to said cylinder, and means for securing and separating this liner from the cylinder, and in that the mechanism comprising a helical groove and a finger carried by said cylindrical part and by said intermediate sleeve.
The helical groove can be carried by the intermediate liner; the finger is then carried by the cylindrical part moving inside this shirt. When the liner is made integral with the cylinder, the finger is fixed and the helical groove being subject to scroll on it, the cylindrical part describes a helical movement.
When, on the other hand, one separates the intermediate liner from the outer cylinder, the cylindrical part moves straight, while the intermediate liner rotates inside the cylinder at an angle corresponding to that determined by the helical groove. ; the splined shaft does not then undergo any movement.
By securing the intermediate sleeve of the outer cylinder, for example, during the forward movements of the cylindrical part, and by separating it from this cylinder during the return movements of this part, the splined receiver shaft is only actuated during the forward movements of the part. the cylindrical part and always has the same direction of rotation. It is thus possible to order successive rotations, of constant angle in magnitude and sign.
It is also possible to place the helical groove inside the intermediate sleeve and the finger on the cylindrical part.
The system enabling the intermediate liner and the outer cylinder to be made integral with one another can be produced very simply by a lateral rod placed in the two adjacent walls formed by the liner and the cylinder.
An embodiment of the device according to the invention in which the driving forces are created by a pressurized gas is shown schematically and by way of example, in FIGS. 1 and 3 of the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 2 is an axial section along the line AA of FIG. 3 which shows a top view partially cut away along the line BB of FIG. 2.
We see in these figures the cylindrical driving part constituted by a piston 11 having a helical groove 12, the two ends of which are angularly spaced apart by jr / 4; this piston 11 is slidably mounted on the splined receiver shaft 13, the only possible movement of which is a rotational movement; the piston 11 moves inside the cylindrical liner 14 arranged inside the outer cylinder 15; the inner surface of the placed cheek 14 carries a finger 16 secured to move in the groove 12; the total stroke of the piston 11 allows the rotary movement of the finger 16 from one end of the groove 12 to the other.
A compressed gas is admitted alternately through the orifices 17 and 18 situated on the outer cylinder 15, on either side of the piston 11. A rod 19 integral with a piston 20 makes it possible to immobilize the liner 14 in the outer cylinder. 15; this rod 19 at the same time acts as a stop member for the piston 11 when it is in the position shown in FIG. 2. In this position corresponding to the joining of the intermediate cheek and the outer cylinder, the spring 21 alone acts on the piston 20.
The disconnection is controlled pneumatically by means of a compressed gas which is sent through the pipe 22 into the space between the piston 20 and the cylinder 15. This piston is located halfway through the face. I1 'of piston 11.
The device described operates as follows: The piston 11 being in the position shown in FIG. 2 (rod 19 pushed into the sleeve 14) is introduced, by means of a solenoid valve, a compressed gas through the orifice 17. This gas pushes the piston 11 to halfway, so that the latter performs a helical angular displacement
EMI0002.0025
During this movement, the shirt 14 is fixed. The rotation of
EMI0002.0026
is therefore transmitted to the splined shaft 13. At the end of this forward movement, the liner 14 of the outer cylinder 15 is desolated by withdrawal of the rod 19, by sending the compressed gas at 22.
At the same time, the orifice 18 is supplied with compressed gas by means of a second solenoid valve, while the first solenoid valve controlling the orifice 17 is closed (the exhaust valves are not shown). The piston 11 therefore performs a return movement by sliding on the shaft 13 which is not actuated and the sleeve 14 rotates at an angle.
EMI0002.0029
The piston 11 undergoing the action of a rectilinear force tends to move only in translation. The relative inertias of the piston 11 and of the sleeve 14 are such that when the sleeve is not immobilized by the rod 19, it is this which moves in rotation around the piston while the latter slides only on the piston. 'tree 13.
When the sleeve 14 is immobilized by the rod 19, the piston is forced to rotate by driving the shaft 13. Then the rod 19 is again brought into the stop position, interrupting the supply of compressed gas at 22, this which allows a new rotation of
EMI0002.0032
of the splined shaft 13 by reversing the action of the two solenoid valves (half forward movement of piston 11). After this stroke, the liner 14 is again separated from the cylinder 15 and the piston 11 is returned to its original longitudinal position by suitably actuating the solenoid valves.
To obtain a rotation of
EMI0002.0034
of the splined shaft 13, the procedure is as follows: the piston 11 and the plug 14 being in the positions shown in FIG. 2, the intermediate liner is separated from the outer cylinder by the action of the pressure at 22; piston 11 then makes a complete stroke, only in translation, under the action of the compressed gas introduced at 17. During this stroke, shaft 13 is not actuated. It retains the orientation reached at the end of the previous movement and the jacket 14 performs a rotation of The compressed gas supply is then interrupted.

in 22.
The rod 19 then comes into contact with the lateral outer surface of the piston 11. When the latter returns to its initial position under the action of the compressed gas introduced at 18 and performs a complete stroke by turning
EMI0002.0038
it transmits this rotation to the splined shaft 13, because the sleeve 14 remains fixed. When the udder 11 returns to its relative position, with respect to the liner 14 shown in FIG. 2, the rod 19 also returns to its stop position shown in this figure.
With the device described, it is possible to carry out at will and in any order, rotations of
EMI0002.0041
or successive rotations of
EMI0003.0002
or from or from
EMI0003.0003
splined shaft 13.
EMI0003.0004
The addition to this device of an additional uncoupling mechanism also makes it possible to perform rotations of the stroke of the rod 19 of the second mechanism.
EMI0003.0006
must then be such that the connection takes place without the rod 19 never protruding from the inner surface of the intermediate sleeve 14. In other words, the stop function of this rod must be eliminated.
The sleeve 14 is, for this purpose, provided over its entire periphery with orifices (not shown) allowing the passage of the rod 19 in the different positions of the members.
It is thus possible, by the play of the coupling between the intermediate-outer cylinder setting and the use of the stops, to carry out a given cycle of successive rotations of the same signs or of different signs corresponding to the entire course of the helical groove or only part of it.
According to an alternative embodiment, in the case where the rod 19 does not have to act as a stopper for the piston, the orifices of the liner can be replaced by an annular groove formed in the outer wall of the liner 14, where the rod for securing the members can be disposed tangentially between the adjacent walls of the cylinder and the che setting.
The use of a tangential rod for securing the liner and the cylinder is not limited to the case where the liner is provided with an annular groove but independent of this possibility. This tangential rod can be placed in an orifice in the bottom of the cylinder and, under the action of the spring, it enters a space formed by a semi-cylindrical longitudinal groove of the internal wall of said cylinder and a similar groove of the adjacent wall. of the liner 14, the periphery of the end thereof comprising a series of equally spaced grooves.
It should be noted that the piston 11 can, of course, be actuated in any other way, for example, by means of a mechanical member subjected to a reciprocating rectilinear movement, the assembly being such that the piston can perform a movement of rotation relative to said member, or by hydraulic or electromagnetic means.
