Waterproof winder for timepiece. The object of the present invention is a waterproof re-mount for a timepiece, the crown of which has a central hollow, allowing it to be screwed onto the pendant. This winding mechanism is characterized by the fact that it comprises a gasket lining housed in the pendant and acting radially on the core of the crown, in all the axial positions of the latter, the crown also bearing axially on the gasket, when that it is screwed onto the pendant, in order to seal it.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, a shape. execution of the object of the invention.
The figure is an axial section of a watch winder.
The box body 1 carries a pendant 2 crossed by a barrel 3 intended to be screwed onto the end of the winding rod, not shown; the crown 4 of the winder is provided with a sleeve 5 surrounding the barrel 3 and has a central recess 6, the side wall of which is threaded to be screwed onto the pendant. A coil spring 7 is supported, on the one hand, on the crown 4, on the other hand, on a shoulder 3a of the barrel 3, and tends to keep the crown away from the pendant when it is not screwed onto that -Here, the coupling then plant the crown on the barrel 3 by bringing a part 5a, the bore of which is hexagonal, of the sleeve 5, in engagement with a part 3b with hexagon, of the barrel 3.
The seal is provided by a gasket 8 housed in an internal annular groove 9 of the pendant and which acts radially on the sleeve 5, whatever the axial position of the crown. The latter has a central projection 4a which bears on the edge of the seal 8 when the crown is screwed onto the pendant.
In this position, the seal is ensured, on the one hand, by the contact of the projection 4a with the seal, on the other hand, by the radial action of the seal on the sleeve 5, an action which is all the more effective. that the seal is subjected by the projection 4a to an axial compression which deforms it radially.
The projection 4ca could be omitted and the seal could have a collar which would occupy the place of the projection 4ca in the figure and on which the bottom of the crown recess would rest.
