Method for producing a fluorescent heterocyclic compound. It has been found that fluorescing heteroeyelic compounds are obtained if aminoketones - which contain the group -COCH2NH2 once or twice, are treated with monobasic or dibasic acids or their functional derivatives and the acylaminoketones obtained are condensed with the agents and optionally with sulfur or amino group releasing agents,
converted into the corresponding azoles and these optionally sulfonated. The radicals which contain the COCH2NH2 groups or the carboxyl groups or their functional derivatives are hydrocarbon radicals which contain one or more double bonds in a conjugated series.
Of particular importance are those of these azoles which contain two heteroeyelic rings and, according to the invention, can be obtained either from diketones and monocarboxylic acids or from monoketones and dicarboxylic acids of the constitution indicated above.
The bisazoles thus obtained correspond to the general formula
EMI0001.0033
(where R contains identical or different, optionally substituted hydrocarbon radicals, wel che double bonds which together with the azole rings form a conjugated series, contain Y, -0-, -S- or -N, one Z of each ring CH , the other ZN, A is hydrogen or SO3H, m is the number 1, 2 or 3).
All of these heterocyclic compounds are valuable intermediates in the chemical industry; in particular, because of their blue fluorescence, they can be used to lighten colored or uncolored substances, such as fiber materials, paper, soaps, detergents and ointments.
The present patent now relates to a process for the production of a fluorescent, heterocyclic compound, characterized in that 2 Möl co = aminoacetophenone is acylated with 1 mole of terephthaloyl = chloride,
the obtained terephthaloyl di-co-aminoacetophenone with condensing agents. converts it into the corresponding bisoxazole and sulfonates it, a disulfonic acid being obtained.
The sodium salt of the disulfonic acid obtained is a pale yellowish powder which changes the color of materials treated with it, e.g. B. cotton yarn, so that a white tone is obtained. "" Example 1 172 parts of hydrochloric acid u) -aminoacetophenone are dissolved in 1000 parts of glacial acetic acid at about 50.
After cooling to 5 and adding 100 parts of anhydrous sodium acetate, 103 parts of terephthaloyl chloride are introduced at 5-10 in the course of half an hour. Then. 100 parts of anhydrous sodium acetate are added again and then 1/2 hour at 10, 1/2 hour at 20-25,
Stirred for 1/2 hour at 40-45 and 1/2 hour at 90-95. The mixture is then stirred with dilute soda solution, filtered off with suction and the residue is washed neutral with water. After drying, it is recrystallized from dimethylformamide. The terephthaloyl-di-co-aminoacetophenone is thus obtained in the form of colorless crystals from F. P. 276.
10 parts of terephthaloyl-di-ao-aminoacetophenone are introduced in small portions into 100 parts of concentrated sulfuric acid at room temperature and the mixture is stirred for 1 hour at room temperature. Then it is added to about 500 parts of ice with stirring, the separated substance is suctioned off and washed neutral with water. After drying, a pale yellowish powder is obtained which, recrystallized from chlorobenzene, melts at 252.
The product is 1,4-di- (5'-phenyl-oxazolyl-2 ') - benzene of the formula
EMI0002.0032
Its solutions in organic solvents show an intense blue fluorescence, even when strongly diluted.
10 parts of 1,4-di (5'-phenyl-oxazolyl-2 ') benzene are stirred with 100 parts of 10% strength oleum for 3 hours at 70-75. After cooling, the mixture is stirred onto 300 parts of ice and the yellowish substance which has deposited is filtered off with suction.
The disulfonic acid obtained in this way is neutralized with dilute sodium hydroxide solution and the aqueous solution of the sodium salt is evaporated. This represents a pale yellowish powder; whose aqueous solutions fluoresce intensely blue.
Example 2: The terephthaloyl-di-co-amino-acetophenone obtained according to example 1, paragraph 1 is introduced into ten times the amount of 10% oleum and stirred at 50 for 3-4 hours. After cooling, the mass is poured onto ice with stirring and the product which has separated out is filtered off with suction. It is a disulfonic acid of 1,4-di (5'-phenyl-oxazolyl-2 ') benzene.
By neutralizing with dilute sodium hydroxide solution and evaporation, the sodium salt of this disulfonic acid is obtained as a pale yellowish powder, the aqueous solutions of which still show an intensely blue fluorescence even when strongly diluted.
If cotton yarn is treated in a liquor ratio of 1:40 at 40 for 20 minutes with a solution containing 0.05 g per liter of the sodium salt described above, the yarn treated in this way shows a more beautiful white tone than the untreated yarn.
