Fig.3 und 4).
Method and device for steaming and ironing articles of clothing. The invention relates to a method for steaming and ironing items of clothing and a device for carrying out this method.
Methods are known in which the items of clothing are steamed from the inside with the aid of steaming dolls. and also blown dry from the inside with hot air. The garment to be treated is inflated like a balloon without a fixed shape, even if it is held together at the front or back by means of edge holders or pins. No shape is worked out, so it is practically just a steaming and not an ironing.
In contrast, the method according to the invention is characterized in that the item of clothing to be treated is applied to a doll bust with an open front scan and an open back part, the interior of which is divided into a rear and a front chamber, after which, in successive operations, by generating different steam , Hot air and vacuum conditions in which the back and front of the garment are treated differently in the bust chambers.
In a first step, hot steam is expediently blown into both bust chambers, which in the front chamber, due to the resistance caused by the perforated front wall, acts with less pressure on the front part of the garment than on the back part of the same.
In a second step, the superheated steam is conveniently switched off and hot compressed air is blown into the back chamber, while a vacuum is generated in the front chamber, whereupon compressed air is blown into both chambers in a third work step. The compressed air is used to eliminate any pressure points that may have arisen in the front part of the garment during the second operation.
The device for carrying out the method is characterized according to the invention by a doll bust with a shoulder part that is shorter than a perforated front wall, an open back part and a vertical impermeable partition in its central area, which bust is surrounded by an air and vapor permeable shell closed at the bottom, which two forms separated chambers by the partition.
The two chambers of the bust are preferably each provided with a steam and air connection line, the air connection line of the front chamber being set up for both supplying and extracting air.
The cover is expediently made of a textile fabric in which two armholes are expediently provided behind the said partition wall. Sack-like arm parts are conveniently ruled out at these arm holes.
The bust is preferably detachably attached to a base so that it can be exchanged for a similar bust of a different shape.
Exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained with reference to the drawing; 1 shows a section through the steaming and ironing device in the state of the steam being blown in, FIG. 2 shows a section corresponding to FIG. 1 in the state of Luftdurchblasimg in the spine area and the air suction in the front of the area,
3 shows a section corresponding to Fig.l and 2 in the state of air blowing in both chambers and _ Fig.4 a section through "a steaming and ironing device for the optional treatment of jackets and coats.
The ironing doll has a bust 1 with a short shoulder part 2. The front part 3 of the bust consists of a perforated wall that is adapted to the body. The wall he stretches backwards on both sides until just before the armholes 10 and is closed by a partition 4 there, that is to say in the middle area of the bust. A bag-like air- and vapor-permeable cover 5 is drawn over the bust to the textile material, for example made of nettle, which is closed under most areas of the bust. In the shell 5 are behind the partition 4, the arm holes 10, to which bag-like arm parts are connected.
In this way, two chambers 6 and 7 are formed, of which the back chamber 6 is partially not stiffened to the outside, while the chamber 7 is rigid. The shoulder part 2 of the bust frame is used to give the overhanging piece of clothing 8 good support in the shoulder area. This support part can also be perforated (see. Fig. 3 and 4).
The bust 1 is attached to a base 15 in such a way that it can easily be exchanged for busts of other sizes, which also belong to the device. It is easy to see that this bust can be provided not only for different sizes or widths, but also for different styles, in particular with regard to the different shapes of women's and men's jackets or jackets. This creates the possibility of overpressing garments to a certain extent.
In FIGS. 1 to 3, for example, busts for jackets, jackets, etc. are shown, while the bust according to FIG. 4 is directed for the optional treatment of jackets or coats. In Figure 4, a horizontal partition 13 is seen in the interior of the bust 12, the height of which is selected so that it is approximately flush with the lower edge of the jacket when the jacket is on.
In the front area of the bust, between the wall 3 and the nettle cover 5, there is an intermediate layer 23 of relatively thick. Inlaid felt. This soft intermediate layer 23 is used in the working stage of pressing the front part of the garment to give it a soft support.
The first work stage, the blowing in of steam 16 into the two chambers 6 and 7, is shown in FIG. It is controlled by the foot-operated valve 21. Despite the fact that the steam 1.6 enters both chambers 6 and 7 at the same pressure, the specific surface pressure acting on the front part 8 'is smaller than that acting on the back part 8 "because the hole wall 3 together with the felt above it creates a not ever-loving resistance for the steam flow. generated.
The consequence of this measure is that the back part 8 "is greatly inflated, while the front part 8 'only experiences a through-damping without being distorted, whereby the two halves of the front part in the area of the row of buttons or the adhesion practically do not change position This is important because jackets, etc. treated in this way only require minimal re-ironing in the button area. The overpressure in the chamber 6 causes the garment 8 in the front area 8 'to be soft, but nevertheless emphatically, on the Shape of the bust 1 is nestled.
This gives the garment the firm shape of the bust on the chest side. Since sufficient steaming still occurs, the breast shape determined by the bust shape can be worked out quickly and permanently by tapping with a brush.
According to FIG. 2, after switching off the steam supply, hot air 17 is blown into chamber 6 and air is sucked out through suction channel 18 from chamber 7. This expels the garment driven by the steam into the clothing Humidity. Since the garment in the front area 8 'does not. is lifted off the bust 1, rather remains clinging to the bust part 3 under the effect of the vacuum, there is no change in the shape produced during the damping process.
The. The desired breast shape worked into the garment is thus preserved. The created shape of the garment becomes permanent through drying. The edges will be flat like when ironing with the iron. The pressure points in the areas of seams, pockets, linings, etc. that are inevitably formed during the ironing process by pressing the garment in the front area 8 'are eliminated by the fact that at the end of the work process according to FIG.
Vacuum generation in the chamber 7 is also blown into this according to FIG. 3, compressed air. For the sake of clarity, a special Luftzuführungsleitimg 19 is shown in FIG. It is understandable that the reversal process can also be effected by appropriate valve control in the line 18 according to FIG.
The metering of the vacuum or the compressed air in the chamber 7 can take place via the foot-operated control valve 20. The brief blowing of air into the chamber 7 is expediently done at the moment in which there is still some moisture in the fabric of the garment or the intermediate felt. The large bust 12 according to FIG. 4 is operated in the same way as the bust according to FIGS. 1 to 3. When a jacket 11 is to be processed, the foot-operated valves 22 are opened and steam or
Air flows through the pipes 16-19 into the upper chambers 6 and 7 and into the internal chambers 6 'and 7'. If only one jacket is treated on this bust 12, the openings 14 are closed and steam and air only act in the upper chambers 6 and 7.
It can be seen that manual processing of the back part 8 ″ of the garment is unnecessary both during the work phases on the ironing doll and after this work has been completed. The garment is removed from the bust when it is finished.
At most, the collar, edges and outer sleeve folds can be easily ironed on a clothes press, depending on the type of fabric and fashion. The device described is thus now involved. a shaping ironing device and not just a damping device.
The described Vorriehtiing represents a significant improvement of the steaming dolls known in the clothes ironing industry, which after cleaning or dyeing clothes before they are finally ironed to steam them through.
It has a fixed bust shape, which can be provided in any size that occurs in the ready-to-wear clothing, both for men and women’s jackets, and in a form adapted to suit the respective fashion. The possibility of using different sizes of the bust shape is a major advantage.
However, busts only need to be provided for every second or third size number, since the backward stretching of the piece of clothing means that intermediate numbers are also fixed on the front of the bust. fit in the shape.
