Additional patent to main patent no. 287870. Process for the production of a vat dye. _It has been found that a valuable vat color is obtained by using the hexanthrimide of the formula
EMI0001.0007
treated with carbazolating agents. The new dye forms. a dark powder that dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a brown-black color and dyes cotton from a brown vat in real gray-brown tones.
As carbazolating agents, according to the present process, in particular the various combinations of ammonium chloride with fluids known per se can be used, it being possible in the individual case to determine to what extent these fluids form molecular compounds with aluminum chloride. Aromatic compounds such as nitrobenzene and inorganic compounds such as sulfur dioxide, optionally alone or in combination with one another, may be mentioned as such runners.
Particularly advantageous results are obtained when using aluminum chloride in combination with a tertiary base, such as. B. aluminum elilorid-pyridine-Gemisehen.
The carbazolation can be achieved by heating with carbazolating agents, for example to at least 100, expediently temperatures between 100 and 150, z. B. to about 1-10 ° C. Example: 25 parts of aluminum chloride are introduced into 60 parts of anhydrous pyridine at 10 to 60 parts with stirring.
The mixture is heated to 100 ° C., and at this temperature 5 parts 1,1'- 4 ', 1 "- 4", 1 "' - 4" 1,1 "" - 4 "'1,111"' - Hexanthrimide to. Within 45 minutes, the temperature is increased to 139 to 141 C with simultaneous distilling off of pyridine. It is allowed to stir for one hour at 140 ° C. and the reaction mixture is poured into 1000 parts of cold water.
120 parts of 30% sodium hydroxide solution are added to this suspension and the mixture is heated to 50 ° C. with stirring. 5 parts of 85% sodium hydrosulfite are then added, the mixture is stirred at 60 ° C. for 15 minutes and small amounts of residue are filtered off with suction. The filtrate is blown out with air, the precipitated dye is suctioned off, washed out and dried.
The 1,1'-4 ', 1 "-4", 1' -4 "', 1" "hexanthrimide used in the first paragraph of this example can be prepared as follows: 6.9 parts of 4'-chloro-1' 1. "-1,4-trianthrimide, 6.7 parts of 4'-amino-1 ', 1" -1,4-trianthrimide, 2 parts of sodium carbonate, 1 part of copper acetate and 350 parts of nitrobenzene are ground to a very fine dough and then heated for 24 hours with stirring at 200 ° to 205 ° C. At 70 ° C. you can see, wash with warm nitrobenzene and then with alcohol.
The crude product is extracted with 2% hydrochloric acid, filtered off with suction, washed neutral and dried. The hexanthrimide forms a dark powder which dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a dark green color. 4'-Amino -1 ', 1 "- 7th, 4 - trianthrimide and 4th-chloro-IM -" - 1,4-triantliriinide are prepared as follows 7.7.
Parts of 4-chloro-1,1'-diantlirimide, 4 parts of 1-aniino-4-nit.roanthraehinon, 2 parts of sodium carbonate, 0.3 parts of copper chloride and 100 parts of nitrobenzene are heated to 200 ° C. over the course of 2 hours and at this point Stirred temperature for 6 hours. At 50 ° C you decide what to do with \ nitrobenzene and then with alcohol.
The 4'-nitro-1 ', 1 "-1,4-tria.nthrimide, a dark brown powder, is reduced in alcoholic suspension with aqueous sodium sulfate solution at 85 to 90 ° C. The 4' - amino - 1'1 "-1,4-trianthriinide forms a dark blue powder.
3.9 parts of 4'-amino-1 ', 7th "-1,4-trianthrimide. Are dissolved in 700' 'files concentrated sehweedic acid C and pour the vegetables onto 500 parts of ice, drain and wash off with 500 parts of water.
The diazonium salt is made into a paste with 100 parts of 10 1 / o hydrochloric acid, added to a solution of 2 parts of copper chloride in 100 parts of concentrated hydrochloric acid, stirred for 3 hours at the usual temperature, drained, washed until neutral and dried. The chlorotrianthrimide forms a dark purple powder.
