Double reversible plow fitted with a safety device.
The present invention relates to a safety device for a Brabant-type double reversible plow, comprising a pad mounted through a hinged joint on a drawbar.
This plow is characterized in that the age consists of two normally aligned parts, the first of which is pivoted in the foam and the second, which. carries the plowing implements, is articulated on the first by means of a transverse, horizontal axis of fac.
can be tilted relative to eelle-ei, these two parts, connected to each other elastically, being able to slide relative to each other, and in that at least one locating stop, retractable, is provided with active surfaces located above and below the first part of the age, symmetrically with respect to the axis of the scallop, to allow the two parts to be brought back into alignment after the second has tilted due to the meeting of an obstacle by the plowing instruments, all with the aim that the operation of said device is the same for the share on the left and for the share on the right.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, three embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an overall elevation of the device, shown schematically.
Figs. 2, 3 and 4 are views in elevation, in plan and in section through IV-IV of FIG. 2, of the first embodiment.
Figs. 5, b and 'I are an elevation view, a fragmentary plan view and a cross section taken on the line VII-VII of FIG. 5, of a second embodiment.
Figs. 8, 9 and 10 show the third embodiment in elevation, partially in plan and in section along the line IX-IX of FIG. 8.
The actual foam 1 of the plow shown in FIG. 1 is integral with a cross member 2 connected by an articulated joint 3 to a drawbar 4, the front end of which, not shown, is articulated by a pivoting member under the chassis of a tractor.
The cross member 2 carries two side tubes in which the wheel supports 5 can oscillate 6. The first part of the age of the plow comprises a cylindrical element 7 pivotally mounted in the foam 1 and a fork with parallel branches 8 and 9 At the branch point of the fork 8-9, the first part of the age carries an upper guide 10 and a lower guide 11 metric to a median transverse axis AA. The upper guide 10 is provided with two brackets 12 and 13 in the form of dihedral, one side of which is mounted on the pivot 14, respectively 15.
Similarly, the lower guide 11 carries two dihedral brackets 16 and 17 pivoting around axes 18 and 19. Springs 20, 21, hooked to the brackets, keep them in contact along their vertical inner edges.
The second part of the age has a parallelepiped bar 22 at the front and can slide with a small clearance between the branches 8 and 9 of the fork. A transverse axis 23 carrying the sleeves 24 and 25 is force-fitted in a bore 26 of the bar 22, but passes through, with a certain axial play, the elongated openings 27-28 provided in the branches 8 and 9 of the fork. These openings 27-28 limit the amount that the bar 22 can slide.
The sleeve 24 is integral with a rod 29 sliding in a stop support 30 fixed to the branch 8. The front end of the rod 29 carries a stop washer 31 on which rests a compression spring 39 whose force can be adjusted by means of the nut 33 and the counter-nut 34 screwed onto the rod 29. Likewise, the sleeve 25 is integral with a rod 35 sliding in a stop support 36 against which a compressed spring 37 bears. by a washer 38 in cooperation with a nut 39.
The second part of the age carries at the rear the plowing implements, provided in duplicate, above and below the age, namely the skimmers 40, the knives 41, the coulters 42, the mouldboards 43 and the heels 44, visible in FIG. 1.
The device described above operates as follows: If the lower share 42 encounters an obstacle, the second part of the age is pulled in the direction of the arrow If ', this pulling has the effect of sliding the bar 22 and compress the springs 30 and 35 until the front end of the bar 22 is released from the brackets or retractable stops 12, 13, 16 and 17. As soon as this release is produced, the entire body of the plow with the second part of the age pivots around the axis 23 and comes to occupy the position shown in phantom in FIG. 1.
At this moment, the plow body is released from the obstacle and the driver stops his tractor. It then reverses and, under the effect of the resistance of the ground, the second part of the age of the plow tilts in the opposite direction around the axis 23 and resumes its normal position after the bar 22, in acting - Sitting on the inclined edges of the retractable stops 16 and 17, caused them to pivot away.
As soon as the second part of the age has resumed its normal position, the spring 21 returns the stops 16 and 17 to the position visible in FIGS. 3 and 4.
In the second embodiment, the retractable stops are formed by bolts 46, 47, 48 and 49 mounted in the slides 50,51,5 ', 53 carried by the first part of the age at point branch of the fork. These locks 46 to 49 have inclined inner edges cooperating in pairs to form Vs, so that they can be easily removed by the action of! bar 22. Return springs 54 normally keep the latches together in the position shown in FIG. 7.
The other members of the safety device, according to fig. 5, 6, 7, are identical to those of the first embodiment and are designated by the same references.
In the third embodiment shown in FIGS. 8,9 and 10, the second part of the age 22, still mounted to pivot on the transverse axis 23 that the first part carries, is provided with vertical supports 55,56, in which threaded rods 57,58 are screwed adjustable position by means of nuts 59. Each rod; 57, 58 carries, at its front end, a guide piece 60 connected by a spring 61 to a stop slide 62. The stop 62 has, in its middle part, between oblique edges, a half-round notch 63 engaged with a socket 64 which surrounds a stop pin 65.
Slider 62 has two horizontal slides 66.67, disposed above and below age bar 22. Each slide has a longitudinal groove 68,69. Guide pins 70,71,72,73, embedded in the element 22, penetrate into the grooves 68,69. Stop plates, attached to one end of the slides 66.67, prevent the stop slide 62 from moving away from the bar 22 of the age, beyond the limit set by the studs 71-73 when they are abut against the plates 75, 76. The other members of this device are identical to those of the first embodiment.
This safety device operates as follows: When the tip of the share 42 encounters an obstacle, the springs 32 and 37 compress and the stop slide 62 moves on the socket 64 until the ends of the notch 63 slide on the rounding of the sleeve 64. From this moment, the stop 62 escapes from the sleeve 64 by compressing the springs 61 due to the tilting torque,
of the age around the transverse axis 23. The entire body of the plow pivots around this axis 23 and comes to assume the position shown in phantom in FIG. 1.
. After maneuvering the tractor in reverse, the second part of the gear swings in the opposite direction around the axis 23 and the stop slide 62 returns to the position shown in FIG. 8, thanks to a forward clicking movement caused by the springs 61. This return of the slide 62 into engagement with the sleeve 64 is facilitated by the oblique edges 80.
When all of the age 7-22 and plowing implements are turned 180 around the axis of scuff 1 for plowing a new furrow, the safety device operates in a manner identical to that which has been described, because the retractable stop elements, in the three embodiments, as well as the relative positions of the two parts of the age are always symmetrical with respect to the axis of the ecamous- snre.
