Plant for the continuous thermal treatment of textiles with infrared rays. The present invention relates to a system for the continuous thermal treatment of textiles with infrared rays, with an infrared emitter aufwei send radiation ceiling and a base against which the radiation of the ceiling is directed and over which the textiles to be irradiated are moved without tension .
It has long been known to let infrared rays act on textile fabrics in order to target a drying of moist tissue or curing of synthetic resins, which are applied to the tissue in solution or emulsion. The results obtained in experiments carried out so far, however, were in some cases unsatisfactory. In many places, the view was therefore that infrared radiation is not at all suitable for the thermal treatment of textiles.
The previous failures resulted from the fact that the thermal processes during the irradiation have so far been left to their natural course, which occurs when a medium is acted on by radiant energy. As the applicants have found, it is necessary to dose the effect of the radiation during the treatment time and at the same time to apply radiation that is as adapted as possible to the absorption characteristics of the object to be treated with regard to the spectral composition.
- The system for the continuous thermal treatment of textiles, with an infrared radiator having radiation blanket and a pad over which the objects to be treated are moved during the irradiation, according to the present invention is characterized in that both the radiation blanket and the pad are divided into fields,
The radiation energy emitted by each of the fields of the radiant ceiling can be regulated independently of one another by switching on a corresponding number of radiator elements, the spectral composition of the emitted rays by regulating the surface temperature of the radiators and the surface temperature of the individual fields of the base, in order to add the textiles to be able to treat their passage through the plant according to a physically defined, predeterminable and adjustable time / temperature program.
In the accompanying drawings, embodiments of the subject invention are shown for example.
1 shows a schematic longitudinal section through a system for the continuous thermal treatment of textile webs.
Fig.2 is a partial section of a variant of the plant.
Fig. 2 is a. schematic representation of the radiant ceiling, and = Fig. 4 and 5 show two variants of the radiant ceiling.
In FIG. 1, 1 denotes a radiant ceiling which is divided into a plurality of fields A, B, C ... N in the longitudinal direction. The textile web to be treated 2 slides over a hollow base 3, which is made of a good heat transfer material, such. B. aluminum, and the cavity is divided in the longitudinal direction by heat-insulating partitions 4 in meh eral chambers 5. Each of these chambers 5 can be heated or cooled by itself, for. B. by being filled with liquid in which heating resp.
Cooling water snakes 6 are, by means of which the surface temperature of the pad 3 can be precisely controlled. There can also be a thermostat-controlled electrical auxiliary heating. The liquid can be set in circulation in the chambers 5 by a pump in order to achieve temperature compensation. The drive of the textile web 2 takes place via rollers 7, 8, which are driven un dependent on each other with adjustable speed.
The whole radiation box, that is, the unit consisting of infrared radiators and pad, can be tilted about an axis of rotation 9. It can be set at an angle so that the textile web 2 slides over the base by itself. As can be seen, the temperature of the textile at a certain treatment point depends not only on the strength of the infrared rays, but also on the surface temperature of the base and can therefore be set to the most suitable value. In this way, a desired time-temperature profile of the textile web can be achieved as it passes through the system.
The pad 3, the upper surface of which is designed to be radiation-reflective, consists of a highly thermally conductive mate rial.
The embodiment according to FIG. 2 differs from that according to FIG. 1 in that the lower compartment 3 'is not flat, but is wavy. As shown schematically in FIG. 3, the radiation ceiling is not only in the longitudinal direction or the direction of movement of the textile web indicated by the arrow in fields A, B, C ... N , but each field is also divided transversely into compartments a1, a2, a3 or b1, b2, b3 or 7i1, n2, </ I > 7i3 divided.
This subdivision in the transverse direction enables the beam size to be adapted to textile webs of different widths.
The radiators of the radiant ceiling can be of various types, e.g. -B. -Infrared incandescent lamps, electric dark radiators, dark radiators that are heated with gas or high-temperature liquids. In the exemplary embodiment, electrically heated dark radiators are assumed as radiation sources.
According to FIG. 4, rod-shaped radiators 10 arranged parallel to one another and perpendicular to the movement direction of the textile web are present in each field. These radiators are divided into different lengths according to the compartments n1, n, 2, n3.
It can also be provided parallel to the direction of movement radiators 11, which are either straight or, as shown in Fig. 5, kinked, so that the individual parts of the rods run obliquely to the direction of movement of the textile web. Depending on the width of the textile web to be treated, a certain number of radiators 11 can be switched on or off on each side in this arrangement.
The surface temperature of the radiators and thus the spectral composition of the emitted rays can be varied by changing the voltage. Furthermore, the total amount of radiation emanating from each field can be changed by switching on and off radiator elements.
