Device for drying material webs. The advantages of infrared drying by means of electric incandescent lamps or glowing wires have been harnessed for drying moist fabric, cellulose or paper webs, which consist in the fact that greater amounts of heat can be transferred to the dry goods per unit area than was previously the case Circulating air dryer is possible. For this purpose, the radiators were attached on one or both sides over the material web, which ran in any arrangement, either horizontally, vertically, obliquely or circularly. They transfer the heat to the goods exclusively through radiation. Any material medium as a carrier of heat is not required.
Fig. 1 of the accompanying drawings shows a known drying device with. Lamp emitters 1. The proportion of electrical energy that is absorbed by the good is only dependent on the efficiency of the reflectors 2 and the degree of absorption of the good 3. A disadvantage is that the reflectors absorb part of the rays falling on them and convert it to heat implement that is not fed into the goods. The goods themselves also reflect part of the incident radiation or allow part of the radiation to pass through. Another part of the radiation goes past the sides of the material web and falls on parts of the system, by which it is absorbed. These losses are due to the fact that on average only 50% of the energy supplied is absorbed by the material web and for the removal of moisture. can be made usable.
Around 50% of the energy is released in the vicinity of the heater and the dry good and results in a temperature increase in the system parts and the air.
As a result, a combination of infrared radiation and drying with air circulation has been used by using the entire system. a heat-insulating cover and allows a flow of air to circulate through the cover. This air flow heats up on the heated parts of the system and absorbs water through evaporation above the web, while cooling down at the same time.
In known dryers of this type it does not work. more about what is meant by infrared drying, but about circulating air drying (convection drying) that uses infrared lamps to heat the air flow.
This is particularly evident where one wishes to utilize the high evaporation effect of a gas stream moving at high speed over the material web to be dried. A known drying device of this type is shown in FIG. Air is blown into the spaces 4 above and below the material web 3. These spaces 4 are separated from the actual drying space, in which infrared radiators are not arranged, by slot-shaped nozzles 5 forming Bleehwä.nde 6. When the heated air passes through the nozzles 5, the pressure is converted into speed.
The direction in which the air hits the upper surface of the web 3 at high speed is indicated by arrows. The air is discharged on both sides. The infrared lamps here only form radiators to warm the dry air.
The aim of the present invention is to create a device which combines infrared drying with convection drying.
According to the present invention, the device for drying webs of material is characterized in that a number of devices for treating the web of material with infrared rays are provided for the evaporation of the water contained in the dry goods, between which devices means for blowing a heated gas onto the illuminated surface of the material web are arranged.
The radiation devices expediently comprise rod-shaped radiation bodies. Said means can, for example, have nozzles which are formed by reflectors which are arranged on the side of the radiating body facing away from the dry material.
It is expedient to ensure that radiation and convection drying act simultaneously and at the same point on the material web. As an infrared body, rod emitters are advantageously chosen that extend over the entire width of the material web and are located in reflectors, which in their sequence form the conclusion between the gas pressure room and drying room and the edges of which limit nozzle openings through which the compressed gas into the drying room entry.
Fig. 3 shows. an embodiment of the device according to the invention in a schematic representation. The material web 3 passes through the drying space 7 formed by five subspaces, which is separated from the pressure space 9 by the reflectors 8. The reflectors 8 emit heat to the web 3 with the infrared rod radiators 10. 11 are in the pressure room Liche rod heaters for heating the air in the pressure room. The ones from runway 3 don't. Absorbed radiation energy is absorbed by the gas stream and transferred to the train by convection.
FIG. 4 shows in cross section to FIG. 3 a somewhat modified embodiment of the invention. The path of the air flow via fans 12, pressure chamber 9, nozzles 13, suction chamber (drying chamber) 7 back to the fans 12 is marked with arrows. The entire system surrounds a heat-insulating wall 14. Corresponding to the evaporation of the water, some of the almost saturated air is removed by means not shown and an equal amount of fresh air is brought in. Instead of air, superheated steam can also be circulated. The drawn combination of the two components, reflectors and nozzles, into one unit results in a high effect and a simple or cheap structure of the whole facility.
In principle, the same arrangement can be used for every material web guide, whether horizontal, vertical, inclined or circular.
The arrangement of the infrared bodies 10 in the reflectors 8, which at the same time form components of the nozzle system 13, means that the principle of drying by infrared radiation is retained as such and that the radiation looks at the same time finitely affects the heat transfer by convection at the same point \ of the Troekenautbahn.
Another advantage is to be noted in the case where steam is used for convection drying. This is created under the action of infrared radiation, is sucked off on the lower side of the nozzle reflectors, in the. The circuit is fed back to the material web and is overheated by infrared heating elements 11 arranged in etch. It represents the gaseous medium by means of which the convection drying is carried out.
The continuous evaporation increases the volume of steam, the excess amount of steam can be sucked off and compressed by a pump to such an extent that it can be used as pressurized heating steam in other drying units that work with air circulation. The heat used to evaporate the water can be recovered through condensation.
