Description

EMI0001.0009

Additional patent to main patent No. 282092. Process for the production of a copper-compatible tetrakisazo dye. The present patent relates to a process for the preparation of a copper-compatible tetrakisazo dye. The process is characterized in that 1 mol of the tetrazo compound of 1- (3'-amino-benzoyl-amino)

-4-amino-benzene on the one hand with 1 mol of the disazo dye of the formula
EMI0001.0009
and on the other hand combined with I. -.Hol 3-methyl-5-pyrazolone.

The new tetrakisazo dye obtained is a dark powder and dissolves in water and conc. Sulfuric acid with a brown color.

Example: The diazonium compound prepared from 13.7 parts of 1-amino-1) enzene-3-carboxylic acid is coupled in the presence of 29.2 parts of 30% strength sodium hydroxide solution and 25 parts of sodium carbonate 1.8,

7 parts of 1-oxalylamino-2-oxybenzene and saponified the monoazo dye formed in the heat with dilute sodium hydroxide solution. The dye is then cold in the presence of 20% common salt with 7.6 parts of sodium nitrite and 50 parts of hydrochloric acid (d.- 1., 16)

further diazotized. The diazonium compound is filtered off and encapsulated with 11.0 parts. 1., 3-Dioxy-benzene and 40 parts of sodium carbonate coupled.

The disazo dye is precipitated with 100 parts of hydrochloric acid, filtered off and dissolved with water and 20 parts of 30% strength sodium hydroxide solution. This solution is now added to the tetrazo compound from 19.1 parts of 1- (3'-amino-benzoyl-amino) -4-amino-benzene. After the intermediate product has formed in a weakly acetic acid solution, 8.4 parts of 3-methyl-5-pyrazolone in neutral,

aqueous solution and then treated with 7.2 parts of sodium bicarbonate in 144 parts of water. The tetrakisazo dye is filtered off while hot and dried.

The dye forms a dark powder and dissolves in water and conc. Sulfuric acid with a brown color. It dyes cellulose fibers in brown shades which, when treated with copper sulfate, show very good fastness properties.
