Additional patent to main patent No. 282092. Process for the production of a copper-compatible tetrakisazo carbate. The present patent relates to a process for the preparation of a copper-compatible tetrakisazo dye. The process is characterized in that 1 mol of the tetrazo compound of 1- (3'-amino-benzoyl-amino) -4-aminobenzene is mixed with 1 mol of the disazo dye of the formula
EMI0001.0010
and on the other hand combined with 1 mol of 3-methyl-5-pyrazolone ..
The new @ etra @ iisazo dye obtained is a dark powder and dissolves. siele in water and conc. Sulfuric acid of brown color.
Example: 16.7 parts of 1-amino-3-methyl-4-oxy-benzene-5-carboxylic acid are 30% strength in 300 parts of water with 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite and 16 parts of hydrochloric acid dianotiert as usual and the diazo compound with a cold aqueous solution of 14.1.
Parts of 1-formyl-amino 2-oxybenzene, 15 parts of 30% strength sodium hydroxide solution and 8.4 parts of Natriumbiearbona.t combined in the presence of pyridine. After the coupling is complete, the formylamino group is saponified in a caustic solution by heating and the pyridine is removed at the same time.
For further diazotization, 7.6 parts of sodium nitrite and 20 percent by volume of table salt are added to the dye solution and dianotized in the cold by adding hydrochloric acid in Congo-acid medium.
The finished diazonium compound is filtered off, washed with ice water and combined with a cold aqueous solution of 7.1., 0 parts of 1, 3-dioxybenzene and 30 parts of sodium carbonate.
After the coupling has ended, the disazo dye formed is precipitated by adding hydrochloric acid until the Congo acid reaction occurs, filtered off and redissolved in water as the sodium salt by adding sodium hydroxide solution dropwise.
This solution is prepared as usual with a mixture of 19.1 parts of 1- (3'-amino-benzoylamino) -4-aniino-hen7ol, 11.6 parts of sodium nitrite and 44 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid - put tetrazo compound in acetic acid Me-,
dium combined and after the disappearance of this Tetrazoverbindunn- treated with an aqueous solution of the sodium salt of 8.4 parts of 3-methyl-5-pyrazolone. An aqueous solution of 7.2 parts of sodium bicarbonate in 144 parts of water is then slowly added. After the coupling has ended, the tetrakisazo dye formed is isolated and dried.
The tetrakisazo dye is a dark powder that dissolves in both water and concentrated sulfuric acid with a brown color. It dyes fibers made from natural or regenerated cellulose in brown shades which, when treated with copper compounds using one of the usual methods, have very good fastness properties.
