Process for the production of torsion-free steel wire ropes and device for carrying out the process. The present invention relates to a process for the production of torsion-free steel wire ropes, e.g. B. long lay ropes, as well as a device for performing the method.
In the known method for the manufacture of steel wire strands and ropes, a ztt of their winding direction or the direction of rotation of the yoke rings of the stranding basket is generated in the stranding elements, which tends to turn the strand structure up.
In the production of so-called long lay wire ropes, in which the wires of the strands have the same lay direction as the strands in the rope, the strands are in turn given a twist that is opposite to their winding direction, which means that the strands are only slightly tensioned Place in the rope structure so that it can be destroyed by the action of relatively smaller external forces. As a result of the twist given to them, the strands tend to twist more or less, depending on the length of the lay of the rope, where the individual wire layers loosen them.
With such a rope, the load is no longer evenly distributed over all rope elements, so that such ropes are unusable for many purposes (elevators, winches, etc.). This inconvenience cannot be remedied by preforming and untwisting the stranding elements, since ongoing tests have shown that long lay ropes preformed and untwisted using the known methods have the disadvantages of loose wires even more pronounced than wire ropes without preforming.
The method according to the invention for the production of torsion-free steel wire ropes, e.g. B. long lay ropes, in that the rope elements by rotating the coils in the opposite direction to the direction of rotation of the yoke rings of the Versei lerkorbes a torsional tension of such a size and direction that the torsional tensions of all rope elements a torsional moment in the finished rope lend turning senses.
A device is used to carry out the method according to the invention, which is characterized in that the yokes carrying the wire coils are rotatably mounted in the yoke rings and with a drive wheel that is coaxial with the axis of rotation of the yoke rings are in a rotational connection opposite to the yoke ring shaft, the drive wheel is in drive connection with the yoke ring shaft via a variable transmission gear.
In the drawing is. an exemplary embodiment of a device for carrying out an example of the method according to the invention, namely shows: Fig.l a side view of the so-called stranding cage, partially in vertical section, and Fig.2 an end view of the stranding basket in the direction of the in Fig.1 seen arrow II.
In connection with the description of the device shown, an exemplary embodiment from the method according to the invention is also described.
In the example of the device shown, 1 denotes the wire spools rotatably mounted in yokes 2 of the distributor cage. The yokes 2 are rotatably mounted in two yoke rings 3 and 4, the latter being firmly connected to the yoke ring shaft 5. The yokes 2 are each provided with a pin 6 at one end, which pass through the yoke 3 and each carry a gear 7, 8 on the outside of the yoke 3.
The gears 7, 8 are in permanent engagement with a central spur gear 9 rotatably mounted on the shaft 5, which is driven by the shaft 5 via a belt drive 10, 11, 12 as well as a variable transmission gear 13 and a pinion 14, namely in the direction of the arrow A drawn in FIG. 2, which corresponds to the direction of rotation B (FIG. 2) of the distributor basket or the yoke rings 3, 4.
The yokes 2, on the other hand, are given a rotation C (FIG. 2) in the opposite direction to the direction of rotation of the yoke rings 3, 4 via the gears 7, 8. A brake 15 is installed in each of the yokes 2 between the wire reel 1 and the outer yoke ring 4. The wires 16, 17 used to produce the strands are passed from the coils 1 through guides 18 of the yokes 2, then looped around the drums 19 of the brakes 15 and then passed through bores 20 arranged in the yoke ring 4 and serving as guides .
When the stranding cage or the yoke rings 3, 4 rotate in the direction of the arrow B drawn in Fig. 2, the cable elements 16, 17 are countered by the gears 7, 8 to the direction of winding of the strands or to the direction of rotation of the yoke rings 3, 4 continuous rotation and thus a torsional stress opposite to the direction of the winding.
By appropriate selection of the transmission ratio between the number of revolutions of the yoke rings 3, 4 and that of the gears 7, 8, the rope elements can be given a torsional tension of such a magnitude - Lind direction that the torsional tensions of all rope elements give the finished rope a torsional moment in the twisting sense to lend.
The separate and freely adjustable brakes 15, 19 built into the Joehkrronen 2 enable strong and constant braking of the individual wires independent of the degree of filling of the coils 1, thereby ensuring that the individual wires are in good contact with the other wires or the core.
Extensive tests with brakes of this type have shown that a wire rope, in which the wires are braked with a braking force of around 35% of their breaking strength while being stranded, has an increase in service life of around 30 to 501/9 ..
The deceleration of around 4 to 7% of the wire breaking strength, which is still common today. apart from their inconstancy (depending on the filling of the bobbins) turned out to be far too simple.
