Device for actuating a record player. The present invention relates to a device for actuating a turntable comprising an electric motor, a speed change and a speed regulator. To date, these actuation devices have two control members,
one connected to the shifting allowing. to modify the transmission ratio between the engine and the turntable, the other connected to the speed regulator and allowing. to choose and. set the engine speed.
However, .es two control members can be the cause of false maneuvers, especially when the plate must be able to be actuated at the three speeds of rotation currently required, namely: 331f3, 45 and 78 revolutionsjminute. In addition, in such a case, each position of the control member connected to the speed governor corresponds. three different platter speeds.
If it is desired to allow], 'the user to adjust the speed of rotation of the plate exactly, he. It is therefore necessary to arrange three scales or graduations in look of the various positions (read can occupy said second control member, which is, difficult, on the one hand, and a source of errors, on the other hand, somewhere else.
The aetération device of the present invention tends to eliminate the drawbacks cited by the fact. that it comprises a single control member mechanically connected to the change of speed, - on the one hand, and to the speed regulator, on the other hand, so as to allow the change of the transmission ratio between the motor and the turntable, on the one hand and., on the other hand, to choose and fix the speed of rotation set by the speed regulator.
The attached drawing shows, schematically and by way of example, two embodiments of the actuating device.
Fig. 1 is a sectional view along the. : line I-I of the, fig. 3.
Fig. 2 is, a detail view.
The, fig. 3 is a plan view, with some parts broken away or removed for clarity of the drawing.
Fig. 4 is a sectional view along the line IV-IV of FIG. 1.
Fig. 5 is. a sectional view of the second embodiment of the device.
Fig. 6 is a partial plan view. According to: Figs. 1 to 4 of the appended drawing, the actuator device comprises, like other known devices, an electric motor, the stator S of which is rigidly fixed to a casing C, while the armature I is fixed to the 'end of a motor shaft rotating in bearings p arranged in said housing. Axial stops b, one of which is subjected to the action of a spring r fix the. axial position of the motor shaft.
The latter carries a speed regulator of known type comprising weights m carried, on the one hand, by arms d articulated in e on a plate f solid with a sleeve sliding on the the motor shaft a and, on the other hand, by leaf springs h, the ends of which are rigidly fixed to the motor shaft. A stop ri., Movable parallel to the shaft a, limits the axial displacement of the plate and constitutes a brake.
The drive shaft also carries a worm i, engaged with a helical wheel k re mechanically linked to a bearing o shaft. the turntable.
In the embodiment of the actuating device according to FIGS. 1. to q, this helical wheel is secured to a 1-turn bush freely on the extension 2 of the hub of a toothed wheel 3 freely rotating on the shaft o carrying the turntable (not shown) . An elastic washer 4, bearing on a ring 5 fixed rigidly on the end of the .prolongement 2, applies a collar 6: of this sleeve 1 on the. front face of toothed wheel 3.
Thus, the helical wheel k is mechanically connected to the toothed wheel 3 by -Lin friction coupling. The axial position of this toothed wheel 3 is defined, on the one hand., By a ring 7 rigidly fixed to the shaft o and, on the other hand, by a ring 8 bearing on the front face of a bearing 9 passing through the key cover 10 of the housing C and in which the said shaft o rotates. This shaft is vertical and its end rotates in a guide 13 and rests by means of a ball 11 on a support plate 12 integral with the housing C.
Between the ring 8 and the toothed wheel 3 are mounted two toothed wheels 14 and 15 mechanically connected to the shaft o by means of a 6las- tic coupling. The latter comprises an elastic rod 16, one end of which is embedded in a screw 17 blocked in a transverse bore 18 of the shaft o and the other end of which is engaged without play -in a radia-1 bore 19 made in the hub of the toothed wheel 14.
Finally, a release 20 practiced in the. the front face of this hub is provided for housing the screw 17 and its elastic rod 16. It can be seen that the part of the rod 16 located between its recess and its end engaged in the bore 19 can be elastically deformed under the action of the drive torque of the shaft o. Finally, washers 21. are mounted on]. 'Shaft at both ends of the hub of toothed wheel 3. These washers are made of a material having a low coefficient of friction.
A sliding and rotating axis 22. in guides 23, 24, arranged in the walls of the housing C carries a train of bala deurs gears 26, 27, intended to come into engagement alternately with the toothed wheels 14 and. 15. In addition, the gear 26 always remains in engagement with the toothed wheel 3, the width of the latter being provided accordingly.
A n res fate 28 taking. bearing on the bottom of the casing C and on a washer 29 applied to a shoulder 30 of the pin 22 tends to keep the latter in the position shown in FIG. 1 for which the gear 26 being simultaneously engaged with the toothed wheels and 1- #, the transmission ratio between the helical wheel k and the shaft o is equal to unity.
On the other hand, by exerting a thrust on the end of the axis 29, the user can cause the meshing of the gear 27 with the toothed wheel 15 and therefore the actuation of the shaft o to a speed of rotation greater than that of the helical wheel k :. In this. Indeed, the casing C carries a column 31, on which is pivoted an actuator 32 having a ramp 33 intended for. cooperate with the end of the shaft 22.
Finally, a single control member P is provided to cause, on the one hand., The movements of the. movable stop 7i. whose position defines the speed of rotation of the worm v and, on the other hand, the movements of the actuating member 32 whose position defines the position of the traveling gear 26, 27, and therefore the transmission ratio between the helical wheel k and the shaft o.
This single control member is integral with a part 44 carried by an arm 34 pivoted by one of its ends coaxially with the shaft o. This end is hand held resiliently in contact with the key cover 10 of the casing by means of two screws 35 passing through slots 36 and bristles the heads of which is engaged a resilient washer 37 whose edges are supported by a sliding part 38 carrying the movable stop not. This part 38 is operated by a
doi @; t 39 integral with the arm 31 and engaged in a light 40 formed in said part 38. The latter is guided by guides 47. imposing the movable stop n a movement parallel to the motor shaft. So by moving.
angularly with the control member P, the user has the possibility of modifying the position of the movable stop n and therefore of modifying the shaft rotation screw cz set by the speed regulator.
Exhibit 44 is. displa @ able radia: leanent relative to the arm 31 and carries a finger 42 of the tines to cooperate with the edges of a notch 43 made in the member a.etonnement- 32. The arm 31 carries two guides 45 engaged in two lights 46 made in room 44.
By examining the accompanying drawing, it can be seen that a radial displacement of the. part 44 causes an angular displacement of the actuator member and. do Lc the movement of the wandering train.
In order to avoid any possibility of false maneuvering, the control member P is secured in a guide 47 fixed on the base plate 48 of the speaking machine. This guide has a light 49 in the form of an arc of a circle. centered on the tree o.
The length of this circular arc is chosen so as to make it possible to pass, by modifying the position of the stop n, the speed of rotation of the shaft o from 32 to 46 revolutions per minute. In addition, this arc of a circle is located at such a distance from the shaft o that the: finger 42 maintains the actuator 32 in a position for which the ramp 33 is out of reach of the axis 22 , (the so that the transmission ratio between the helical wheel k and the shaft o is equal to unity.
This guide 47 still presents at one of the ends of the. light 49 line indentation 50 making it possible to radially displace the control member P by a value sufficient to cause, by means of the finger 42 cooperating with the notch 43, the angular displacement of the actuating member 32, of which the ramp 33, acting on the end of the axis 22, causes the change of the transmission ratio between the helical wheel l and the shaft o.
The diameters of the toothed wheels 15 and 27 which are then brought into engagement,: Are chosen so that: the shaft o is. operated at 78 rpm. The notch 50 has a width u. allowing movement. angular of the control member P of a sufficient value to cause, by modification of the. position of the, stop n, a variation of 7 6 to. 80 of the speed of rotation of the shaft o.
From the above and from an examination of the appended drawing, one can easily see that this actuation device makes it possible, by operation of the single control member P, to obtain the three speeds necessary today for hearing the various existing discs, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, to choose and set the exact value of the desired speed of rotation. In addition, the gniide 47, in which this cam organ is engaged:
single control constitutes a slaving device between the regulator and the gear change preventing any false maneuver. The second variant: of execution represented in fi-. 5 and 6 differs from that described above mainly by the concept of gear change.
Indeed, while the speed change described above has two transmission ratios, one of which is equal to unity and the other greater than unity (multiplier) that represented in FIG. 5 has an equal transmission ratio. to the unit and a transmission ratio smaller than the unit (reduction gear). In this variant, the helical wheel k is fixed to the extension 2 of the hub of the toothed wheel 3.
The latter rotates freely on a pivot 50 rigidly fixed to the bottom of the. housing C, and crossed by the shaft o.
The toothed wheel 14 is. force-mounted on an extension 15a of the hub. the toothed wheel 15. The end of this hub, is supported ,, by means of a washer 53, on the upper end, in the bottom of a chambrage made in the hub of the toothed wheel 3. The The length of the pivot 50 and the chambering of the hub of the wheel 3 are such that this wheel 3 can never drive the wheel 14 by mutual friction.
The pivot 50 has Lin shoulder 55 on which the hub 2 bears through the intermediary of a washer 56.
The guide 47 of the control unit P is similar to that written with reference to FIGS. 1 to 4. However, it is placed in a reverse position.
Indeed, when this control member ide is in the pushed position, that is to say in its position closest to the shaft o, the transmission ratio is equal to limited and the shaft o is driven at 78 rpm. On the other hand, for the position drawn from this control member,
the toothed wheels 15 and 27 are engaged and reduce the speed of the shaft o to 45 rpm. This gear train must therefore remain engaged when the control member is moved angularly, in order to adjust this speed to 33 revolutions / minute by modifying the position of the movable stop n.
Two embodiments of the device which is the subject of the invention have been described here with reference to the appended schematic drawing, but it is clear that multiple variants can be provided.
Indeed, the speed changes and the governor described here can be replaced without further ado by one or the other of the many types of speed shifts and governors used for many years by the constants. talking machine reactors.
It goes without saying that the mechanical links between the control organ P, the regulator "on the one hand, and the speed change, on the other hand, will be adapted to the needs and requirements imposed by these devices.
However, it is advantageous: to provide for the construction of the speed change so that, as: in the case of the two variant embodiments described above and shown in the accompanying drawing, none of the rotary members coaxial with the o shaft carrying the turntable and in sliding contact with this shaft is not operated at a speed greater than that said shaft.
This in order to maintain the friction losses. as low as possible.
