Description
Self-winding elongated timepiece . The present invention relates to an elongated timepiece with automatic re-assembly.
This timepiece is characterized in that it comprises two masses mounted rotatably at points situated substantially on the longitudinal axis of the movement, these masses each cooperating with a wheel which forms part of the winding train.
The appended drawing represents, partially and by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a schematic plan view of the automatic winding mechanism, and FIG. 2 is a schematic section following II-II of FIG. 1.
A cage 1 carrying most of the winding components is fixed to the pond (the barrel 2 by means of screws 3 and feet 4.
In this cage are mounted rotatably, by means of bearings 5, two axes 6a and 6b on which are driven two pinions 7a, respectively 7b. On each of these pinions is driven a board 8a, respectively 8b d 'a winding trap 9a, 9b respectively, in the shape of a semi-circle.
These masses are thus pivoted at points located on the longitudinal axis 1.0 of the movement and symmetrical with respect. to the transverse axis 11 passing over the center of a wheel 12. The pinions 7a and 7b both mesh with this wheel 12, which is mounted loose on the barrel 13a of a pinion 13 pivoted on the cage 1. This wheel carries a pawl 14 cooperating with a ratchet wheel. 15 integral with the pinion 13 which leads the ratchet. barrel designated by 16.
It should be noted that the barrel is coaxial with the axis 6a. of mass 9a ..
The two masses move simultaneously in an identical fashion. They can perform full turns; the sum of their weights is equivalent to that of a larger mass, which, in an elongated watch, would not have room to turn and could not. oscillate only at a limited angle, which is less favorable for winding.
In the embodiment shown, the masses both cooperate with the wheel 12. We could also provide for the case where each mass cooperates with a different wheel, each of these wheels forming part of the winding train.
