Additional patent to main patent no. 273955. Process for the preparation of an aqueous solution of a complex metal compound. It has been found that an aqueous solution of a valuable complex metal compound can be obtained if the complex copper compound of the formula, which is sparingly soluble in water, is obtained
EMI0001.0002
Reacts with monoethanolamine in an aqueous medium.
The aqueous solution contains a new complex metal compound which is stable in solution and which in turn contains monoethanolamine in a complex bond in addition to copper. The solution is dyed red and gives strong, ruby-red colorations on cotton.
The in the present process as starting material, sparingly water-soluble copper compound of the above formula can be obtained by the action of copper-releasing agents on the 2-amino-l-oxy-4-benzoic acid anilide diazotized by coupling 2 moles with 1 mole of the triazine from 1 Moles of cyanogen chloride,
Prepare 2 moles of 2-amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid and 1 mole of aniline available disazo dye. A manufacturing process for this disazo dye is in Switzerland. U.S. Patent No. 249789.
The implementation of the complex Kupferver bond with the monoethanolamine takes place in an aqueous medium, expediently using an excess of monoethanolamine, z. B. of at least as much ethanolamine as dye. The complex copper compound obtainable in this way, which, in addition to copper, also contains ethanolamine in a complex bond, has the valuable property of being sub-microscopically dispersed to truly dissolved in water.
The copper compound is stable in aqueous solution; however, it disintegrates during drying or during dyeing, evidently with exit of the base from the complex and regression of the sparingly soluble starting material.
Example: 1 part of the copper compound of the dye from 2 mol of dianotized 2-amino-l-oxv-4-benzoic acid anilide and 1 mol of the triazine from 1 mol of cyanuric chloride, \? Mol of 2-amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid and 1 11o1 of aniline are mixed with.
200 parts of hot condensed water, which contain 2 parts of ethanolamine and 0.5 parts of what is serfreies sodium carbonate, boils, forming a clear solution which can be used for dyeing as follows: The dyebath of 3,000 parts of condensed water is 2 parts anhydrous sodium carbonate and set to 700, after which the stock solution is added. One goes with 100 parts of cotton, drives within half an hour to the boil and boiled for one hour, after five and after twenty minutes 15 parts crystallized sodium sulfate are added.
The bath is well drawn out, and the resulting coloration is a pure ruby red of very good lightness and clarity.
The copper compound used to prepare the stock solution is prepared as follows: 115 parts of the dye are dissolved in 2000 parts of warm water with the addition of 8 parts of sodium hydroxide.
A solution prepared from 50 parts of crystallized copper sulfate, 80 parts of 25% ammonia with 150 parts of water is added and it is heated to 800 for one hour. The copper compound is separated off by adding sodium chloride, filtered off and dried.
