Description
Cycle steering mechanism. The present invention relates to a cycle steering mechanism which is characterized in that a steering tube of the cycle fork rotates in a steering tube of the frame, by means of members having surfaces. complementary bearing and friction spherical shape, said members being secured respectively to the steering tube of the fork and to the steering tube of the frame at each of the ends of the latter tube.
The figure of the appended drawing shows, by way of non-limiting example, one embodiment of the object of the invention.
The figure shows, partly a section, partly an interior view.
The steering tube of the frame comprises, at its upper part, a support cup file cc which it is integral with and whose hollow is established with a spherical shape corresponding to the male support surface of part b, which is screwed onto the fork tube and the tightening of which is therefore adjustable.
At the lower part of the steering tube, with a symmetrical arrangement, is mounted the bearing cup c also integral with said steering tube by having a recess established with a spherical shape corresponding to the male bearing surface of the part d integral with the steering tube of the fork.
It should be considered that with these opposing and symmetrical upper and lower support arrangements, there is an automatic positioning of the bearing surfaces (spherical support surfaces with respect to the spherical bearing surfaces of the fixed cups).
In addition, these spherical bearing surfaces reduce pressure, which prevents any grip page, heating or matting.
It appears that this arrangement, by removing the balls, allows great savings while facilitating mounting and adjustment in position. organs which is carried out automatically, without harming a smooth rotation of the rotating assembly.
It remains understood that the above arrangement can be reversed as regards the arrangement of the bowls with regard to the male support surfaces.
