Slat selector mechanism for locks and similar devices. The present invention relates to a selector mechanism with slats for locks and similar devices, with key with double profile and which is characterized by the fact that at least part of the slats are divided into two halves which can move independently from one another in the same plane, and the slats thus formed are spaced apart and held in their blocking position by springs acting on them.
This arrangement of the slats makes it possible to improve the functioning and the safety of the selector mechanism by acting in such a way that a few slats are sufficient " 'To obtain a practically unlimited number. combinations of key profiles.
Another advantage is that it allows the manufacture in large series of locks provided with the selector mechanism which has just been characterized above and this thanks to the possibility of obtaining a very high number of changes in using identical parts.
The drawing represents, to by way of example, one embodiment of the mechanism.
Fig. 1 represents a longitudinal axial section of the lamella control device, corresponding to the key with double profile partially inserted between the blades; Fig. 2 shows a dirty cross section, at the end, of FIG. 1. Fig. 3 represents the same section of fig. 1, while the key has been introduced to bottom between the blades.
Fig. 4 is the front view of the key entry (without the key).
Fig. 5 represents a longitudinal section of the outer sheath in which are the slits serving to house the melles, one y can see, placed inside, the slat holder device.
Fig. 6 is a section along line A-A, shown in fig. 5.
Fig. 7 is a section, along line B-B, indicated to this same fig. 5.
Fig. 8 represents an enlarged detail allowing to clearly see the housing of the springs flanking the lamellae.
Fig. 9 is a section of fig. 8 according to line C-C.
Fig. 10 is a section of fig. 8 according to line E-E.
Fig. 11 represents a key with dual profile.
When the key is not, we are only partially in the mechanism, all the blades 1 are, by the pressure of the respective springs, to their place in the slots 2 of the cylindrical sleeve 3 of the mechanism.
But the key, pushed slightly to bottom, as we see the fig. 3, forces the lamellae, which cannot move other than following the plane of the slots 2, to to be placed, by their ends, along a generatrix of the inner surface of the sleeve 3, the only position allowing for the key to turn freely and to drive the inner core 4, which is made of two independent semi-cylindrical i parts held together by the capsules 5 and 6 of the device carrying the tabs 1. </ B >
This core 4 actuates in in turn the rod 7, which transmits the rotational movement to the lock or to the similar mechanical part. Since the slots 2 are in the cylindrical sleeve 3 itself, and the inner core 4 carrying the blades 1 can turn directly to inside the sheath 3, it follows an absolute impossibility of driving the core by the lamellae 1, because the latter are located, to the closed state (called the rest state), all engaged in the slots -9 of the sheath 3. Moreover, to the end of this sheath is attached to a plate 8, which maintains the core inside the sheath.
This device can be executed as it is shown, to by way of example to the attached drawing board in which we see, fig . 1 and 3, the placement of four slats 1 and a central slat 9. As said above, the inner core 4 is made of two separate semi-cylindrical parts. This makes it possible to hollow out the housing of the slats in the transverse direction.
All these strips are fitted with a lug 10, which penetrates into a hollow of the semi-cylinder made on the outside to receive the end of the control spring < B> 11. As there y a, in one half of the inner sleeve 3, four strips 1, exactly opposite - screw of four other 1 slats in the other half, it is easy to understand that the first are controlled by one of the profiles of the key and the others by the other profile.
As for the, central lamella 9, indicated to in fig. 10, it is actuated by one or the other of the two profiles as well, it has been given a different shape for this, i.e. its width is exactly the double that of the other slats, moreover, it has the same lug, without being controlled by any spring, nevertheless this lug is still used to imprison the central lamella 9, </ B > so that it does not come out of the sheath 3.
This slat 9, the only one of its kind in the mechanism, is used to immediately determine (when the key is removed from the mechanism) the position slats qua-nt the respective slots that will receive them. As can be seen in the various figures, the springs controlling the lamellae are placed, in the interlamellar space, in niches 12. These are ordinary springs, superimposed, whose ends ag ' , in the intended direction, to push the slats individually into the slots.
From the foregoing description, it emerges that by giving the lamellae the characteristic profile and position which has just been described, few lamellae are sufficient to obtain a practically unlimited number of combinations.
In addition, the significant reduction in the number of lamellae, which makes it possible to obtain a free space between two successive lamellae serving as a housing for control springs, makes it possible to increase the thickness of the lamellae, which prevents too rapid wear.
It also follows that the pressure exerted by the key with double profile, against the slats, when it is inserted into the selector device, favors - instead of hindering, by the friction of, one against the other - their vertical displacement since each strip has its support, not against the next strip, but against the very body of the mechanism.
It also results in the possibility of modifying the shape of the slats, so that those controlled by one of the two profiles of the key are completely independent of those controlled by the other profile, so that, on returning to to the state of rest, it is no longer by the effect of their own weight that all the slats are housed by themselves in the two slots made in the oven cylindrical reau, but under the action! springs flanking these lamellae; one will engage in the upper slot and the other in the lower slot.
In addition, due to their special shape, which will be particularly appreciated in figs. 6, 7, 9 of the attached drawing, the lamellae may even be in greater number, while being at a greater distance from one of the other; this detail gives a much greater degree of inviolability to the mechanism.
