Clasp for bracelet. The present invention relates to a fastener for a bracelet, which is characterized in that it is constituted by a rigid part of elongated shape, having means for the permanent fixing on it of the two ends of the bracelet, this part presenting furthermore, in the vicinity of one of its ends, a transverse slit open on one of the sides of said part, one of the aforesaid fixing means being provided in the vicinity of the end opposite, the whole being arranged so that in the inactive position, the aforesaid part and the bracelet together form a single loop,
of sufficient size to easily allow the passage of the hand to through it, and that in the active position, this part is folded over one of the strands (the brace let and thus kept pressed against it by the causes this strand to pass through the aforementioned slot, the assembly then forming a smaller loop.
The appended drawing represents, by by way of example, an embodiment of the clasp which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1, 2 and 3 are perspective views showing, in three different positions, a bracelet provided with the clasp.
Fig. 4 shows the isolated clasp, seen in plan.
The clasp shown in the drawing comprises a rigid metal part 1, of elongated shape, presenting at one of its ends, at 2, a transverse bar serving for < / B> fixing the end of one of the strands, 3, of the bracelet. The end of the other strand, 4, is attached to a 5 member sliding on a! On-itudinal 6 part (the piece L This piece presents, when viewed in profile, a slightly arched shape, as can be seen in the drawing. A its opposite end < B> at bar 2, the piece 1 presents a slow transversal 7, open in 8 on Fun on the sides of this piece.
In the vicinity of the slot 7, the part 1 is provided with a transverse bar 9. Strand 4 is applied, as can be seen in fig. 1, on the convex face of part J., and passes through the space 1-0 between bar rette 9 and the adjacent edge 11 of the body of part 1.
When the f ermoir occupies the inactive position shown on the Sig. 1, the part 1 and the bracelet together form a single buckle of sufficient size to easily allow the passage of the hand through it. To bring the clasp into the active position, the part 1 is rotated around the bar 2 in the direction indicated by the arrow 12 in fig. 1, thus bringing the whole or-anes (first in the position shown in Sig. 2.
We continue this rotation until the part 1 comes to rest against the strand 3, after which we engage this strand in the slot 7, in such a way that the organs then occupy the active position shown on the Sig. 3. From this moment, the part 1 is folded back over the strand -Bound against it and is thus kept applied by the fact that this strand passes through the slot 7. The assembly then forms, as seen in fig. 3, a small pl-Lis loop,
corresponding to a-Li wrist circumference. The length of the bracelet is adjusted according to the size of the wrist by adjusting the position of the 5 organ along the 6 part. with the clasp in the active position, it can be seen that the strand 4 passes around the bar 9. In the position according to FIG. 3, this strand 4 is applied on part 1, over the part of this same strand which is attached, to the organ 5. It will be noted that then, the part 1 is covered over its entire length by the link.
The only parts of this part which are visible when the clasp is in the active position are two longitudinal edges, 13, 14, which are provided on each of the longitudinal sides of this part, to laterally retain the strand 4 when it is applied against the convex face of this part, this convex face being turned outwardly with respect to the wrist.
It will be noted that the clasp described has the advantage of avoiding all the usual hooking members, and that in addition, it is extremely simple to handle and that it is hardly visible once in position. tion active, since strands 3 and 4 then cover it entirely. This clasp is applicable to watch straps, but also to all kinds of straps.
