Description
Process for the production of a new full dye. The present invention relates to a process for the production of a new wool dye, which is characterized in that 3,6-1) i- (2 ', 4'-dimethylanilirro) -fluorane is sulfonated so that 2 sulfonic acid groups in .das Enter molecule.
The new dye is. a dark red powder that gives a red-violet solution in water and dyes wool in red-violet shades.
Example:.
7.1 parts of the basic dye obtained by condensing a molecular amount of 3,6-dichlorofluorane with 2 molar amounts of m, 4-xylidine are dissolved in 60 parts of 100% sulfuric acid at a temperature below 150 ° C. The solution is stirred at 10 to 151) C until one drop of the sulphonation mixture is completely soluble in cold 2% aqueous ammonia solution.
The sulfonation mixture is cooled to 50 ° C. and stirred at 5 to 70 ° C., while 20% oleum is added in small portions at intervals of 10 minutes until one drop of the sulfonation mixture in 10 cm3 of water is complete soluble, however, in 10 cm: 2% sodium chloride solution. is not completely soluble. The reaction mixture is then poured onto 200 parts of ice, whereupon the re-precipitated dye is filtered off and washed with 75 parts of saturated sodium chloride solution.
The dye is then cleaned by adding 200 parts of water at 5011 C, adding a slight excess of ammonia so that the dye dissolves, the solution is filtered and the dye is then removed by adding 70 parts of common salt the solution precipitates again, whereupon it is acidified with hydrochloric acid and heated to 850 C. The dark red solid substance is filtered off and dried.
The dyestuff obtained in this way dyes wool in red-violet shades with a marked washfastness. According to the Society of Dyers and Colourists' scale, the lightfastness for this dye is 5, as opposed to 4 for the corresponding monosulfonic acid, ie. H. that the new product is about twice as lightfast. is like monosulfonic acid.
