Motor spring with flange for clockwork movement. The object of the present invention is a mainspring with flange for a clockwork movement, characterized in that this flange is constituted by an elastic blade whose length exceeds at least half of the. inner circumference of the barrel drum, and which applies at least partially to the inner wall of the drum, this flange being fixed to the inner face of the outer coil of the mainspring, the inner end of the flange thus causing of the extension force of the clamp a corrective effect on the centering of the spring during its development.
Preferably this flange drives the ball by friction due to its elastic extension force. With a spring. provided with an ordinary driving hook, the blades, while working, approach and gradually move away from the bung, rubbing against each other as a result of their eccentric development. This defect increases the friction and decreases the regularity of the restored force.
According to the invention, the centering of the spring is maintained by the flange, resulting in a reduction in the winding force moment and an increase in the restored force. This force is more regularly restored than with a usual res sort. In an automatic watch, these various improvements amount to a significant gain.
The drawing shows by way of example an embodiment of the object of the invention. Fig. 1 represents the barrel position. Fig. 2 shows a part of the flange and a part of the spring before installation.
The flange 1 is constituted by an elastic blade connected to the spring and intended to drag the barrel drum therefrom by friction. The length of the flange exceeds that of the inner circumference of the drum. It could also be shorter than this conference.
This flange 1 is fixed to the inner face of the outer coil 4 of the spring, at such a distance from its end 2 that it allows it to exert the corrective effect on the off-centering of the spring.
When the spring. is located. in the bay, fig. 1, it passes between parts 2 and 3 of the flange, which overlap, to be fixed in the space left free, between the end 3 of the flange 1, the inner end 2 of the flange 1 and the wall of the barrel drum ,, in order to reduce the wasted space. It could: very well be fixed elsewhere without reducing the corrective effect.
The device for fixing the spring on the flange can be partially novated either. in the spring or in the flange.
When the spring is armed, the. part 2 of the flange 1 maintains the spring in a place where it has barely returned and, while acting. Elastically, reduces the risk of breakage. With the spring loaded to its maximum force potential, end 2 of the flange bends under the action of the spring, thus releasing part 3 of the flange from its normal pressure against the drum wall and allowing this causes the bridle to travel a small arc of a circle, still limited by the action of extension of the bridle until part 2 presses again on 3 causing braking.
The step of the spring and the flange is done as for a normal spring. This avoids the separate placement of the flange and the resulting troubles.
For the case of the drive of the barrel without friction, the flange or the spring. could also be hooked to the drum of the barrel. To avoid in this case that the tension of the flange is added to that of the armed spring, causing too high a moment of force, and causing the balance to spring back, it is advisable that the fixing device 5 is placed close enough to the outer end 3 of the flange so that it abuts there when the res goes out.
