Dans la position de la goupille126 représentée en traits pleins en fig. 7, c'est- à-dire au bas de la rampe descendante129' du chemin de roulement 1'29, l'aiguille8 du pick-up dirigée contre en bas repose sur la face supérieure du disque6 placé sur le pla teau tourne-disques5;
7 et8).

the axial rod 26 moves up and down. The projection 31A simultaneously retains the penultimate disc 122 and the entire reserve stack resting on it while the disc 12 ', whose edge opposite to that pushed by the projection 31A has entered the notch 33 in the casing of the rod 11, descends by sliding along this rod. Fig. 3 shows the rod in the position occupied by its organs during the hearing of a disc and fig. 4 the watch in the starting position of the lower disc r2l on the turntable.
The bearing surface 1.3 is formed by the upper surface of a part 34, profiled in U (fig. 6), articulated on a gouipille 35 crossing diametrically the hollow rod 11, the part 34 is subjected to the action of a return spring < B> 36 tending to keep it in the position shown in fig. 3 and 4.
The bearing surface 13 is therefore retractable inside the inside of the rod 11, under the action of Him or of several discs moving in the opposite direction to their feed, that is to say from bottom to top, as indicated by the arrow f in fig. 5. It is therefore possible at any time, except naturally at that of the flow, to change to again one or more discs from the turntable to the reserve position, i.e. to reload the feed device without removing the rod 11 and without waiting that all discs in the reserve stack have been played.
While recharging one or more discs, the notch 33 of the rod 11 is blocked by the lower end of the branch 31, so that the disc or discs do not abut, in their upward movement, against the shoulder formed by the upper edge of this notch.
The rod 11 rests by its lower ball joint 10 on the ball 37 of the thrust bearing 9 and is engaged by its upper ball joint 38 in the bearing 14 formed by the lower end of the axis 15 of the upper motor 16. This axis rotates at seventy-eight turns / Mill. like that of the lower motor 1, but in reverse order. It is driven by -a helical gear wheel 39, </ B > in sound matter,
in engagement with the worm 40 which forms one end of the axis of the rotor of the motor 16. The upper end of the rod 11 has a longitudinal countersink 41 in which is engaged a blade 42 riveted to a semicircular spring 43 engaged in a circular groove of the bearing 14.
Thus, the rod 11 is rotated by the blade with spring 42, 43 integral with the bearing 14 of the axis 15. With the rod is also driven the disc press plate 19. The lower end of the countersink 41 serves as the lower stop for the plate 19 when the stack of spare disks are exhausted.
The axis 15 is hollow and in its bore can slide a rod 44 whose upper end emerges from the axis 15 and presents -unie head 45 on which the lever 46 forming part of the disc flow control mechanism, which mechanism will be described later.
To load the discs on the ellangeur, the rod 11 fitted with the plate 19 is removed by lifting it vertically until its lower ball joint 10 is released from the bearing 9 of the lower motor shaft 4 by tilting it and then lowering it to release its upper ball joint 38 from the bearing 14 of the shaft 15. Place the to playable, twenty-five and thirty centimeter discs mixed in any order on the turntable 5 in stacking them on the end of axle 4, as if it were a regular turntable. We introduce to again the rod 11 with its key plate in its bearings 9 and 14.
The entire stack of dis- (reads along the rod: the bearing surface is erased as the disks pass, then returns to take its place to support the stack. discs.
If, when inserting the upper ball joint 38 of the rod 11 in the bearing 14 of the axis 15, the drive blade 42 is not located opposite the countersink 41, the spring 43 flexes and allows the introduction of the rod. It then suffices to rotate the rod until the wool 42 enters the the groove.
The mechanism for controlling the flow rate of the discs acting by the lever 46 and the push rod 45, 44 on the rod 26 sliding in the disc holder rod 11, is shown in fig. 1, 8, 9 and 10.
A at the end of reproduction by the pick-up of the underside of the lower disc 12 'of the reserve stack, the needle 8 of the pick-up enters the final fast pitch furrow which gives the acoustic arm the sudden impulse necessary to engage the disc flow control mechanism on the motor.
On the axis 4 of the lower engine 1 is wedged a toothed pinion 47 with which can be engaged a return pinion 48 which, for its part, is in constant mesh with a toothed wheel 49 large diameter wedged on an axle 50 on which is also wedged a cam 51 which constitutes the control member of the pick-up cycle. This cam remains stationary throughout the execution of a face of a disc, but is driven by the motor axis 4 to from the end of this execution until the start of the execution of the next disc side.
The idler pinion 48 is mounted idle on an axis 52 fixed on the underside of a rocker 53 pivoted around a tenon 54 fixed on the underside of a plate 55, against the action of a return spring 59. The rocker 53 still carries, but on its upper face,
a pin 56 intended to cooperate with a stop surface 57 ' of a lever 57 pivoted on a tenon 58 fixed on the plate 55. The large diameter toothed wheel 49 is wedged on the axis 50 by a key 60 planted in a barrel 61. The rocker 53 is arranged and sorrel so that its idler pinion 48 is constantly in engagement with the wheel 49 and can be engaged and disengaged with the pinion 47 according to the position of the lever 57. When the pinion 48 is in mesh with the pinion 47, the movement of the motor shaft 4 is transmitted in reduced gear by the wheel 49 to the cam 51 which comprises all the necessary components to the control of the movements of the acoustic arm.
The position of the lever 57 which determines the engagement and disengagement of the assembly formed by the wheel 49 and the cam 51 is controlled by a lever (not shown) integral with the acoustic arm.
From the toothed wheel 49, the rotation is transmitted to a toothed wheel 62, driven on the axis 63 of a pinion 64. This pinion meshes with a 65 toothed wheel riveted to a 66 barrel mounted idle on a 67 barrel riveted in a 68 plate. </ B> The two plates 55 and 68 which form the frame of the mechanism are fixed together to the main plate 2 by three bolts 69 . The gear ratio is such that the 65 wheel makes a U-turn while the large diameter wheel 49 makes one revolution. In the fixed barrel 67 is pivoted an axis 70 on the lower end of which is wedged a second cam 71 which constitutes to < / B> both the disc flow control unit and the control unit for the selection of discs of different diameters.
The cam 71 is wedged on the axis 70 by a key 72. On the upper end of the axis 70 is mounted a clutch sleeve 73 secured in rotation with the axis 70 by a screw 74. The clutch sleeve 73 can also be made integral in rotation with the barrel 66 of the wheel 65 by means of a semi-circular clutch lever 75.
The clutch lever 75 is rotated to 76 on the wheel 65 (fig. 10). A spring 77, attacked to one ear 78 of the wheel 65, pulls on end 75 ' of the lever 75 with a folded tab 79 engages in one of the diametrically opposed notches 80 of the sleeve 73, thus ensuring the transmission of movement to the cam 71. The barrel 66 has a countersink 81 to leave the tab 79 of the lever 75. loose.
The cam 71 has two raceways 82 and 83 diametrically opposed and with different radii. The bearing path 82 constitutes the cam controlling the flow rate of the discs and the bearing path 83 constitutes the control cam for the selection of discs of different diameters.
The track 82 cooperates with a roller 84 pivoted at 85 on a lever 86. The lever 86 is rotated by a barrel 86, riveted at its end, on an axis 87, secured to a square 88 fixed by a screw 89 to the main board 2 of the speaking machine. On the lever 86 is rotated, by a pin 90, a barrel 91 split in 92 .. The barrel 91 has an internal thread into which the threaded end of the rod is screwed in 93. A with coil spring 94, resting on the lower face of the main plate 2, acts on the barrel 91 and tends, to push the latter and the rod 93 downwards.
The rod 93 passes through the main plate 2, and its threaded upper end 93 ' is screwed into a threaded barrel 95 pivoted on a rivet < B> 96 fixed to the outer end of elbow lever 46 rotated to 97 on one ear 98 </ B> of the 17 console on which the upper motor 16. is attached
When, at the end of the execution by the pick-up of the underside of the reserve disc 121, the needle 8 enters the final groove at rapid pitch of the disc, the sudden impulse given to the acoustic arm activates the automatic stop device and causes the toothed wheel 49 to engage with the pinion 47 of the motor shaft 4. The rotation of the wheel 49 is transmitted, as it has just been described, to the cam 71 which starts to rotate.
The roller 84 following the track 82 raises the lever 86 and the rod 93, which rotates around 97 < / B> the lever 46, the inner end of which presses on the head 45 of the push rod 44; this rod passes through the hollow shaft 15 of the upper motor and comes in in turn to press on the upper end of the rod 26 which, moving downwards, rotates the part 31 inside the inside of the disc holder rod 11 and moves laterally by means of the projection 3la the last disc of the stack, 12 ', the underside of which has just been played.
It is to notice that the cam 71 makes a U-turn while the cam 51 which controls the movements of the acoustic arm and which is integral with the wheel 49 makes a full revolution: it follows that the disc flow device operates once every two revolutions of the cam 51, that is to say after the successive execution of two laces: the upper face of the disc 6 resting on the plate 5 and the lower face of the disc 121 of the reserve stack. Mechanism (the selection of discs (the diameters different.
The selection mechanism comprises a first lever 99 pivoted on the same axis 87 integral with the bracket 88 on which the lever <B is pivoted > 86 of the flow mechanism and a second lever 100 pivoted at the upper end of the first lever 99 on an axis 101. A the free end of the second lever 100 is mounted, on a pin 102 welded by a flattened part 103, < / B> a roulette wheel 104.
The first lever 99 is controlled by the raceway 83 of the cam 71 on which a roller 105 rolls. pivoted on an axis 106 carried by the end of a lever 107 also pivoted on the axis 87 and connected to the lever 99 by a res sort to sausage 108:
this spring 108 is fixed, on the one hand, to an ear 109 of the lever 107 and, on the other hand, to an ear 110 of the lever 99. This elastic connection by the spring 108 between the levers 99 and 107 allows the lever 99 to perform a variable stroke depending on whether or not the wheel 104 abuts against the edge of a twenty-five centimeter disc, while the 107 lever performs an invariable stroke under the action of the 83 track of the cam 71. < / B> The levers 99 and 100 are also elastically connected by a second spring to flange 111 attached, d 'on the one hand, to -one ear 112 of the lever 100 and, on the other hand,
to one ear 113 of lever 99. This second res comes out has the function of maintaining the wheel 104 in contact with the lower disc 121 of the stack reserve, even if this disc oscillates while rotating. The assembly formed by the levers 99 and 100 and the springs 108 and 111 is arranged so that, when the disc 121 is a thirty centimeter disc (fi. 11), the wheel 104 comes to roll, in the working position called selector, on the underside of the disc, to < / B> a distance X from the axis of the disc less than twenty-five centimeters and that, when this disc 121 is a disc of twenty-five hundred meters (fig. 12), said roulette 104 come up against the edge of this disc,
i.e. at a distance from the axis of the disks X + x, the springs 108 and 111 tending to bring it towards the center in the movement of the lever 100 under the 'action of the cam (83, 71) when it is placed in the working position at a level higher than the underside of the disc 12 '.
At the start of the cycle, the selector occupies the position shown in dotted lines in fig. 11, position in which the wheel 104 is outside the periphery of the larger diameter disc of the reserve key stack; in this position, it does not obstruct the descent of the records on the turntable. Under the cam (83, 71), the lever 107 carrying the roller 105 pivots on the axis 87 </ B> and drives, via the spring 108, the lever 99 in an anti-clockwise direction.
If the disc 121 is a thirty-centimeter disc, the wheel 104 performs a 21-B-0 course to roll on the underside of this disc 121 (fig. 11) at the distance X of the axis of the discs. The lower end 99 ' of the lever 99 comes to occupy a position P.
If, on the other hand, the disc 121- is a twenty-five centimeter disc (fig. 12), the roulette wheel 104 comes up against the edge of this disc and performs only a course AB 'equal to to < / I> AB. The lower end 99 ' of the lever 99 comes to occupy a position Y'.
The difference between the positions Y '(fig. 11) and Y-2 (fig. 12) of the end 99' of the lever 99 </ B > in the working position of the selector allows, by a lever device shown in in fig. 8 and described below, to determine the initial playing position of the pick-up so that the needle of this pick-up comes to be placed for the hearing of this disc 1211 exactly at the beginning < B> of the outer groove, whether this disc 121 be -Lm disc of twenty-five centimeters or "of thirty centimeters.
Fig. 8 shows, in section, the pivoting of the lever 99 on the axis 87. The lever 99 is riveted on a sleeve 114 rotated on the axis 87 on which are also pivoted the sleeve 861 of the disc flow and the lever 107. The whole is retained axially between a stop 115 formed at -one end of the axis 87 and the end 116 </ B > of the bracket 88 to which the axis 87 is fixed by a pin 117.
The 99 ' end of the 99 lever is placed in the path of the 118' end of a 118 </ B> rotated in 119 on the lower plate 68, folded in 120 and having a boss 121 placed in the path of a projection 122 presented by the cam 71 at its periphery. At its opposite end, the lever 118 has two stepped contact surfaces: the surface 123 being the more distant and the surface 124 the least distant from the pivot axis 119. These two surfaces are intended to cooperate, depending on the position of the lever 118, with a shutter 125 forming part of the mechanism for controlling the movements of the acoustic arm.
The end 118 ' of the lever 118 can be brought into three different positions: 4 S # us the action of the peripheral projection 122 of the cam 71 < / B> on boss 121, it is pushed to the far left.
b) When the wheel 104 abuts against the edge of a twenty-five centimeter disc (fig. 12), the end 99 'of the lever 99 hole in position Y2 brings the end 118 ' of the lever 118 into its middle position shown in fig. 8.
The shutter 125 is then in front of the shortest part 124 of the lever 118.
c) When the caster 104 rolls on the lower surface of the thirty-centimeter disc (fig. 11), the end 99 ' of the lever 99 </ B> being in position Y 'brings the end 118' of the lever 118 in its extreme right position in which it is its contact surface 123 which is located in front of the shutter 125. Pick-up control mechanism.
The sound reproduction device itself comprises the unique 9-0 acoustic arm carrying the 7 pick-up intended to play the face successively. disc 121- of the reserve stack resting on the bearing surface 13 of the disc holder rod 11 and the upper face of the disc 6 < / B> resting on the turntable 5. The acoustic arm 20 is rotated on a horizontal axis 21 placed below the surface of the turntable 5. </ B> The pick-up 7 comprises a needle 8 tightened by the screw 23 in an oscillating armor and a device of known type (not represented)
for the transformation of the mechanical oscillations of the needle and the mature arcing into electrical oscillations.
The pick-up 7 comprises a box to which is rigidly fixed an axis 22 pivoted in a cylindrical housing 24, provided at the end of the acoustic arm 20 (fig. 16, 17, 1.8). A pin 25 screwed into the arm 20 enters a groove 22 'of the axis 22 allowing the rotation of the latter, but keeping it against any axial displacement. Balls 196, 197, subjected to the pressure of springs 198, 199, can penetrate into two cells 200, 201 formed in the outer face - top of a ring 202 capable of rotating on axis 22, when a screw 203 is loosened.
The two balls 196, 197 and the two cells 200, 201 determine the six well-marked positions of the pick-up 7, the position 7 ' (fig. 16) with the needle 8 pointing downwards and the position 7 " (in dotted lines) with the needle 8 directed upwards (position 8 '); the pick-up 7 goes from one to the other of these two positions tions by a rotation of 18011 around the axis 22. These two positions can be adjusted by turning the ring 202 on the axis 22.
The turning of the pick-up 7 with respect to the acoustic arm is controlled by a device comprising a housing 204 fixed to the chassis of the talking machine by two screws 205 ( fig. 18) in a position such that, when the acoustic arm 20 occupies the rest position of fig. 8 out of the periplieria of the discs centered on the rod 11, a horn 206 integral with the pick-up box 7 enters a groove 207 ' of a cylindrical part 207, the two components 206 and 207 < / B> thus forma coupling.
This cylindrical part which 207 pivots by its axis 208 in two bearings 209, 210, integral with the housing 204. A pinion 211 is wedged on the axis 208 by -a key 212; this pinion 211 also maintains the axis 208 against any axial displacement. A toothed ring 213 is fixed by a pin 214 on a vertical axis 215 pivoted in two bearings 216, 217 integral with the bracket 204. A its lower end,
the vertical axis 215 carries a sleeve 218 fixed by a pin 21.9. On this sleeve 218 is riveted a lever 220 controlled by a connecting rod 221 articulated to the lever 220 by means of a rivet 222. A the other end of the connecting rod 221 is provided with an elongated slide 223 in which penetrates a pin 224 fixed on the cam 71.
While hearing the underside of the disc 121 resting on the bearing surface of the rod 11, the pick-up 7 is rotated so that the The 8 needle is in contact with this disc (position 7 " of the pick-up and S ' of the needle). At the end of the hearing of this disc face, the acoustic arm 20 is brought by a mechanism described below into the rest position indicated in fig. 8. The cam 71 which, as described above, rotates in the direction of the arrow f drives through pin 224 the connecting rod 221.
This, by means of the lever 220, turns the vertical axis 215 integral with the toothed ring 213. The pinion 211, which is in engagement with the crown gear 213, is driven in rotation and, with it, the cylindrical part 207 which holds in its groove 207 ' the cone < B> 206 of the pick-up 7. The extended slide 223 of the connecting rod 221 is dimensioned such a dewlap that when the cam 71 e describes a half-turn, the cylindrical part 207 and, therefore, the pick-up 7, has turned 180 '. The needle 8 is thus placed in position to play the upper face of the disc 6 resting on the plate 5.
After hearing this disc face, the acoustic arm 20 is returned to its rest position indicated in FIG. S.
The cam 71, which at this moment describes a half turn in the direction of the arrow f, causes by the connecting rod 221 a new rotation of 180 ' of the 7 pick-up, but in the opposite direction to its previous rotation. Needle 8 is located (the new one pointing upwards for the underside of disc 122.
Figs. 19 to 22 show an alternative embodiment of the so-called pick-up turning device. The pick-up 7 is pivoted, as in the first embodiment, by its axis 22 in the end of the acoustic arm 20. On this axis 22 is wedged a cylindrical part 225 which has, at its periphery, two notches 226 and 227. These notches are arranged and shaped so that two teeth 228 and 229 of a flat fork-shaped 230 piece can engage when the acoustic arm 20 undergoes lateral displacement, causing this rotates the cylindrical part 225 and the pick-up 7 to which it is integral.
The pick-up in position .1 (fig. 22) with its needle 8 directed against the top has just reproduced the lower f ace , of the disc 121- resting on the support surface of the rod 11. The movement intended to take the pick-up out of the periphery of the discs is in the direction of the arrow fIl. Its fork 230 occupies a position 2301 such that it is the tooth 228 which engages in the notch 226 , thus causing - -a rotation of 9011 of the pick-up 7 which then occupies position B.
The disc 121 of the reserve stack, the underside of which has just been played, then descends onto the turntable 5 and the pick-up resumes its movement in the opposite direction in the direction of the flexed f. In the meantime, the fork 230 has shifted vertically towards the ha-Lit, occupying position 2302 . It is then the tooth 229 which engages it in the notch 227, thus causing a new rotation of 900 </ B > of the pick-up 7 which comes to occupy the position C in which the guille 8 is directed against the bottom, ready to play the upper side of the disc 121 lowered onto the 5. plate
The fork. 230 is riveted to the upper end of a cylindrical rod 231 by two rivets 232, 233. The rod 231 slides in a column 234 fixed to the frame of the machine by two screws 235, 236. This column 234 ends in a fork comprising two branches 237 and 238 whose spacing is smaller than that of the two branches of the f ourche 230 and intended to guide the pick-up by its cylindrical part 225 during the turning operation.
The position of the fork 230 is determined by the following mechanism: As in the first embodiment, there is a connecting rod 221 controlled by a pin 224 fixed on the cam 71. The connecting rod 221 controls, a lever 239 which pivots on a tenon 240. The lever 239 has, at. its end, an inclined plane 241 connecting two horizontal parts 242 and 243 which determine the two positions 2301- and 2301 of the fork 230. A spring 244 maintains the cylindrical rod 231 in contact with the lever 239 by means of the collar 245 fixed to the rod 2ôl by a rivet 246 The cycle remains identical to that described for the first embodiment of the pick-up turning device.
The acoustic arm 20 carrying the reversible pick-up 7 is itself controlled by the single cam 51 which determines all its least thanks to </ B > two separate tracks with which you can cooperate à your lonté -a pin 126 carried by a member integral with the acoustic arm.
The cam 51 wedged on the vertical axis 50 comprises on a part of its periphery Lin single raceway 127 intended for < / B> control the centripetal and centrifugal movements of the front pick-up, respectively after hearing each face of the disc. On another sector of its periphery between the spokes L and V (fig. 14), the cam 51 has two raceways 128 and 129 diverging at 130 from the raceway 127 and connecting thereto at 131. The pin 126 may, from point 130 to point 131,
follow either of these paths 128 or 129 when the cam 51 turns in the direction of the arrow fl. It is precisely the path of these two tracks 128 and 129 which controls the upward and downward movements of the acoustic arm. At point 130, a shutter 132 pivoted on an axis 133 allows the pin to be steered at will 126 in one or the a-Liter of paths 128 and 129. The switch shutter command 132 </ B> will be described later.
The two raceways 128 and 129 are placed on the same cylinder with axis 50. The raceway 128 </ B> corner- takes an ascending ramp 1281- followed by a descending ramp 128 ', the rolling path 129 comprises on the contrary -a descending ramp 19-91 followed by an ascending ramp 1292.
The pin 126 which follows the raceways (these being formed by grooves) is fixed to the end of an arm 134 and is kept in contact with the cam 51 by the action of a spring 250 (fig. 8). The arm 134 is pivoted on a journal 135, riveted in the end of a second lever 136 capable of pivoting about the horizontal axis 21 constituted by the opposite points of two cones 137 </ B> and 138 engaged in the ears 139 and 140 of the lever 136 and fixed in the ears 141 and 1422 of a welded bracket 143 to the main board 2.
The swivel 138 is adjustable by means of a threaded sleeve 144 and can be locked in position with a nut 145. A The upper end of the lever 136 </ B > is fixed by screws 146, 147 a part 148 on which is welded a part 149 profiled in U whose branches are pierced with conical holes in which the eonic tips engage 150 , 151, of bolts 152, 153 screwed into the ears 154, 155 of a caliper 156. The cones 150, 151 constitute the vertical axis of pivoting of the acoustic arm and its support.
The bracket 156 carries in in turn a horizontal pin 157 on which the acoustic arm 20 is pivoted, in such a way that the pick- up can, independently of the upward and downward movements imposed on it by the cam 51 at the end and the beginning of the hearing of each face of the record, freely follow the vertical oscillations discs and can also be raised or lowered by by hand from its lower or upper playing positions without changing the position of its support, that is to say the arms 136, 134 and pin 126.
A leaf spring 158 attached to the bracket 156 by a screw 159 serves to < / B> press the pick-up against the underside of the reserve disc 121 and to give it the necessary pressure to play this disc side when the pin 126, </ B > having followed the rolling path 128 of the cam 51, reached the top of the ascending ramp 1281 in the position 126 ' indicated dotted in fig. 7, having rotated levers 134 and 136 around the horizontal pivot axis 21.
In the position of the pin  126  shown in solid lines in fig.  7,  that is to say at the bottom of the descending ramp  129 ' of the raceway 1'29, the needle  8  of the pick-up facing downwards rests on the upper face of the disc  6  placed on the record player plate  5;
the leaf spring 158 does not press against the acoustic arm, but it is by means of this same spring that the levers 134 and 136 raise the pick-up over this disc 6 at the end of the hearing of its upper f ace, when the pin follows the upward ramp 1292 of the bearing path 129.
A stopper 160 fixed by screws 161, 16 '# to the bracket 156 limits the free pivoting of the cable at the bottom of the acoustic arm around of the horizontal pin 157.
The lateral movements of the acoustic arm towards the center and towards the outside of the discs, when the pin 126 follows the path of bearing 1.9-7 of the cam 51, are transmitted to the pivoted support of the acoustic arm by the lever arm 134 pivoted on the vertical journal 135, by means of a lever 163 </ B> also rotated on the swivel 135, to a lever 164 fixed by screws 161, 162 to the bracket 156 (fig. 7 and 8). When the pin 126 adorns the first part 1271 (fig. 8) of the raceway 127,
the cam 51 rotating in the direction of the arrow fl, the lever 134 rotates around 135 clockwise, The edge 1341 of this lever drives the lever 163 through the ear 163 ' thereof. This 163 lever has, at its end opposite to the pin 135, a rectangular window 165 whose side < B> 1651 drives a pin 166 of the angled lever 164 fixed to the caliper 156. The pick-up is thus driven rotating around the vertical axis 150-151 towards the outside of the turntable, until the horn 206 enters the groove 2071 of the pick-up turning device.
The 127 2 part of the 1.27 bearing race of the 51 cam drives the lever 134 in a counterclockwise direction and with it the lever 163; it is then the side 165 2 of the window 165 which drives the pin 166 </ B> and pivot lever 164: and with it the pick-up towards the inside of the record player. The centripetal movement of the pick-up continues until the flap 125 of the lever 163 comes into contact with one of the contact surfaces 123 </ B > or 124 of the selector lever 118 .
If it touches the surface 123, the pick-up stops above the first furrow of a thirty-centimeter disc; if it touches the surface 124, the pick-up stops above the first furrow of a disc of twenty-five centimeters.
A spring 167 attached, on the one hand, to the ear 163 ' and, on the other hand, to </ B> an ear 168 cla lever 134, tends to keep the edge 1341 of this lever in contact with the ear 163 ' of the lever < B> 163 and absorbs the difference in stroke between these two levers when the flap 125 - comes into contact with the butt of the contact surfaces 123 or 124, which occurs before the pin 126 has reached its outermost position of the raceway 127.
The pin 166 is turned eccentrically on a seat 169 of a pin 170 mounted with friction hard in a hole of the arm 164. This hard friction is obtained by the pressure of the spring 171 stretched by a washer 172 and -Lme transverse pin 173. In turning the pin 170, you can therefore adjust the stop position of the pick-up above and below the outer groove of the disc face to to play.
174 is a goat planted in the lever 164 and which serves to drive the automatic stop mechanism not shown.
The switch shutter 132 of cam 51 is controlled by means of the following device (fig. 10 and 13 ): On the axis 133 of the shutter 132 is fixed the lever 175 subjected to the 'action of a return spring 176 attached to, a tenon 177 of the cam 51. This lever 175 presses against an a-Liter lever 178 rotated to 179. This last lever 178 presses to its turn against a cam 180 pivoted on a screw 181 where it is joined together by a pin 183 of a 182 four-spoke star wheel.
Fig. 15 shows the assembly detail of the mobile 180, 182. A each turn of the control cam 51, -a pin 184 stuck in the end of a lever 185 rotated to 186 < / B> does not advance the star 182, and with it the cam 180 by a quarter of a turn.
If therefore the lever 178 occupies, during one revolution of the cam 51.1, the position shown in solid lines in fig. 10, the following turn, under the action of the cam 180 which will have turned with the star a quarter of a turn, it will occupy an a-Liter position and its displacement causes a corresponding displacement of the lever 175 integral with the switching flap 132 which thus changes from position to </ B> each turn of the cam, switching turn to the pin 126 on one and on the a-Liter of the raceways 128 </ B > and 129.
If we want to repeat either the lower face of the disc 12 ', or the upper face of the disc 6, it will suffice to move away, by making the lever vote 185 to bring it to the position 1851 shown in crossed lines at in fig. 10, the pin 184 of the path of the star wheel 182 and immobilize the cam 71 by acting on its clutch device.
The switch shutter 132 will no longer be moved during the next revolution of the cam 51 and the pick-up repeats the movements of the half-cycle it is making to perform until the pin 184 has been returned to the course of the star wheel 182. As a result of the imm mobilization of the cam 71, the 7 pick-up reversal control mechanism remains inactive and the 8 needle remains in the position corresponding to a new audit of the same side of the disc.
The 185 repeat lever is T-shaped; it is rotated in 186 on the top of the lower plate 68 of the mechanism. The end 187 of its transverse branch opposite to the pin 184 is, in the position shown in solid lines in fig. 8, out of the way of the clutch lever 75.
A 1.88 lever rotated in 189 on the lower plate 68 of the mechanism is also controlled by the lever 185 by the 'intermediate of a lever 190 pivoted in 191 on the branch 192 of the lever 185 and in 193 on the lever 188. This set of levers is arranged so that when the end 187 of the lever 185 </ B > is out of the way of the clutch lever 75, the lever 188 has its end 194 also out of this way and that when 187 </ B > is in this path, 194 y is also.
The repeat lever 185 is operated by a button 195 placed at the end of its middle branch 192. When this 195 button is pushed to the 195 'position, the pin 184 comes out of the way of the star wheel 182, 187 and 194 go in the path of the clutch lever 75.
Cycle of the disc changer without repetition. 10 The end groove at rapid step of the upper face of the disc 6 resting on the turntable gives the needle 8 of the pick-up 7 a sudden impulse transmitted by the acoustic arm 20, the lever 164 and the pin 174, to an automatic stop device of known type, not shown. This automatic stop device causes the senestrorsum pivoting of the lever 57 which disengages the pin 56 from its end notch. The rocker 53 turns senestrorsum around 54, until the idler pinion 48 engages the pinion 47.
All the cams 51 and 71 then move in the direction of the arrows f 1 and f ' .
20 The pin 126 which was, during the hearing of disc 6, at point A of the raceway 129, describes the ascending ramp 129-. The support of the acoustic arm pivoting dextrorsum around the horizontal axis 21, the spring 158 is stretched and the pick- up lifts above disc 6. Aa point B of ramp 1292 it is in a middle position, needle 8 not touching any disc.
During this time, the pin 184 of the lever 185 has, in passing, made the star wheel 182 turn one step and pivot senestrorsum the switch shutter 132 which closes the entrance to the track 129 and opens the one called track (the bearing 128. During the hearing (the upper face of the disc 6 Ieposing on the turntable, the shutter 132 closed the raceway 1'28 and opened the entrance to the path 129.
A from point B, the pin follows the first part 1271 of the raceway 1.27 and causes a dextrorsum rotation of the arm 134 around < B> 135. The pin 166 of lever 164 which was at the end of disk 6 in position 166 ' shown in dotted lines in fig. 8,
is driven senestror- sum by the edge 1651 of the window 165. Lever 164 rotates the senestrorsum acoustic arm around the vertical axis 150-151 and the pick-up comes out of the periphery of the larger discs when the pin 126 arrives at the turning point C of the track < B> 127 which is diametrically opposed to point À with respect to to axis 50.
In this position, the horn 206 is inserted in the groove 207 ' of the eylindrical part 207.
30 During this same time, the cam 71 which controls the selection and the speed of the discs has also turned, but only a quarter of a turn. The peripheral boss 1292 has pushed back the part 121 of the lever 118, giving to the end 118 ' of this lever its, the more to left. During this same quarter turn of cam 71, the ramp 83 of this multiple cam causes the necessary movements to the selection by the roller 105, the lever 107, the levers 99 and 100 and the wheel 104. The lever 118 assumes the position corresponding to the diameter of the lower disc 121 of the reserve stack.
Continuing its rotation, the cam 71 drags by the pin 224 the connecting rod 221 which, by the axes 215 and 208 and the groove 207 ' of the cylindrical part 207, causes an anti-clockwise rotation of the pick-up 18011, thus bringing the needle 8 </ B> in the position required for hearing of the underside of the disc 121 resting on the bearing surface of the rod 11.
40 The cam 51 continuing its rotation, the pin follows part 1272 of the raceway 127, causing the senestrorsum rotation of the levers 134 and 163 around 135. The 1652 edge of the 165 window pushes back the pin 166 </ B> until the flap 125 integral with the lever 163 comes into contact with one of the surfaces 123 or 124 of the lever 118. The needle 8 of the pick-up, directed against the top, is then located below the outer groove of the disc 12 ', whether this disc is a disc of twenty -five centimeters or thirty centimeters.
50 The pin 126, having reached point D which marks the bifurcation of the raceways 128 and 129, engages on the ascending ramp 1281- of the path 128 left free by the switch shutter 132. The lever 134 e drags the lever < B> 136 and rotates it dex- trors-Lun around the horizontal axis 21. This rotation causes the lifting of the pick-up which rests on the leaf spring 158 at the- above its middle position.
The upper needle 8 ' comes into contact with the outer groove of the disc 121; the profile of the ramp 1281- is such that, from the moment of the contact of the needle 8 with the disc 121, the support of the acoustic arm still pivots -a little around the horizontal axis 21, in such a way that the leaf spring 158 exerts on the acoustic arm sufficient pressure from the bottom upwards to ensure that the pick-up functions correctly.
60 A the end of the upward ramp 1281, the cam 51 has made a full revolution. The rocker 53 swivels dextrorsum around its axis 54, putting the idler gear 48 out of engagement with the pinion 47 and the cam 51 stops and with it all the disc changer mechanism. However, the two engines keep running and the pick-up plays the underside of the disc 121 carried by the surface 13 of the rod 11. </ B>
70 The * fast at end groove of disc 121 activates the automatic stop. The changer mechanism clutch operates to again and the cams 51 and 71 are restarted.
The pin 126 which had stopped at point E follows the downward ramp 1282 of the raceway 128 making rotate the levers 134 and 136 senestrorsum around the horizontal axis 21. At the bottom of the ramp 128-, the pin is again a-Li point B and the pick -up has returned to its midpoint between disks 121- and 6.
Incidentally, during this quarter turn of the cam 51, the pin 184 of the lever 185 has moved the star 182 forward by one step. 132 has rotated dextrorsum closing the raceway 128 that the pin 126 has just traversed and opening the click- Min 129. < / B>
A from point B, the pin 126 follows to again the first part 1271- of the flat raceway 127 </ B > and causes a dextrorsum rotation of the arm 134 around 135. The pin 166 is driven senestrorsuin by the edge 165 ' of the window < B> 165. The lever 164 rotates the senestror- sum acoustic arm around the vertical axis 150-151 and the pick-up comes out of the periphery of the discs; the horn 206 is to again engaged in the groove 207 ' of the cylindrical part 207 of the turning device of the pick-up.
80 During this same time, the cam 71 continued its rotation of a third quarter of a turn. Its ramp 82 cooperating with the roller 84 rotates the lever 86 senestrorsum and lifting the rod 93 lowers the lever 46 which presses on the head 45 of rod 44; this rod 44 acts on the push rod 26 which lowers to the inside of the rod 11 and actuates the part 31 which, by its projection 31a, pushes the disc 121, the underside of which has just been played, out of the bearing surface 13. The disc 1211 slides along the rod It and comes to rest on the disc 6 resting on the turntable plate.
Continuing its rotation, the cam 71 drags the connecting rod 221 again to by the pin 224, but this time in the opposite direction. By the axes 215 and 208 and the groove 207 ' of the cylindrical part 207, a rotation of 180 " is imposed on the pick-up 7 in a clockwise direction, thus bringing the to needle 8 < / B> in the position suitable for hearing the upper face of the 12 "disc now resting on the 5. plate
9 " The cams 51 and 71 continuing their rotation, the pin 126 follows the second part 127 ' of the plane track 127 and brings the pick-up over the outer groove of the disc 121- which now rests on the turntable. The lever < B> 118 of the selection remained in the position it occupied at the end of part (3) of the cycle. The needle 8 of the pick-up, directed against the bottom, is therefore well above the outer groove of the upper face of the 12 'disc.
10 " The pin 126 follows the downward ramp 1291 of the runway 129 released by the shutter switch 132 and returns to the point A which it occupied a-Li beginning of the cycle described. This last path rotates the levers 134 and 136 senestrorsum around the horizontal axis 21 and lower the pick-up until its 8 needle enters the groove on the upper face of the disc 121 placed on the turntable.
The changer mechanism is then disengaged automatically and the pick-up plays the upper face of disc 12 '.
The cycle which has just been described comprises all the movements necessary to successively play the two sides of the disc 121 practically without interruption and without turning this disc over. The 51 cam completed two full turns and the 71 cam one. complete revolution during which its 83 ramp intervened once to select the diameter of the disc 121 and the 82 ramp intervened once to lower this disc 121 on the turntable.
As regards the selection mechanism, it should be noted that the position of the lever 118 which determines the initial play position of the pick-up is independent of the level. absolute of the edge of the disc 12 'when the latter rests on the bearing surface of the rod 11. The selection is therefore made correctly, even if the edge of the disc 12' sorrel vertically by turning or if it is not all at done round. Cycle of the changer (the discs with repetition. First case. - Repetition of the upper face of the disc 6 resting on the turntable 5.
The cycle is at point 1 above. The pin 126 follows the upward ramp 129 " of the bearing race 129 of the 51. cam. repetition (192-185-187) is brought to the position shown in dotted lines in fig. 10, position in c where the pin 184 is out of the way of the 'star 182. Since this is no longer actuated by pin 184, the guilla flap, gle 132 therefore remains in the same position:
it closes the bearing path 128 and leaves open the path 129 that the pin 126 has just traveled. From there, l the end 194 of the lever 188 comes to press against the clutch lever 75 causing the latter to pivot around 76. The tongue folded < B> 79 of this lever 75 comes out of the notch 80 of the clutch sleeve 73. The latter stops being driven and the cam < B> 71 remains motionless. Therefore, the selection operation does not take place, and neither does the pick-up reversal operation.
The 118 lever keeps its position and the pick-up, with the 8 needle always pointing downwards, goes down to new n on the upper side of the 6 disc resting on the turntable. If we leave the 192 lever in its 192 'position, the same series of operations is repeated again, but this time it will be the end 187 of the lever (192-185-187) which will press on the clutch lever 75 to disengage the cam 71.
If, on the other hand, the lever (192-185-187) is returned to its first position shown in solid lines to in fig. 10, the clutch lever 75 will drive the sleeve 73 and the cycle of operations will be followed normally by the selection of the disc 121 , the overturning of the pick-up, the hearing of the underside of this record, the descent of this record on the turntable, etc.
Second case. - Repetition of the underside of the disc 121.
The cycle is at the point where the pin  126  follows the downward ramp  128  2 of the raceway  128.  The repeat lever (192- 185-187) is brought into the position (192 # - 185'-187 ') shown in broken lines  a  in fig.  10.  Pin 184 no longer pulls the star  182,  the switch shutter  132  remains in the same position  -  it closes the raceway  129  and leaves the path  128.  The end  187  of the lever (192- - 185-187) acts on the clutch lever  75;
the cam 71 comes to a stop before its ramp 82 acts on the levers and rods causing the flow of the disc 121 and the pin 224 acts on the connecting rod 221; the pick-up whose needle 8 is still pointing upwards, reproduces again the underside of this disc 121 which has remained on the surf ace support 13.
