L'invention a.
Method and device for extracting air from a closed space formed between two parts with a tight seal. The present invention aims to ensure cold and under particularly easy and economical conditions the deaeration of the receptacles or any other objects of any kind.
The subject of the invention is a method for extracting air from a closed space formed between two parts with a sealed seal, characterized in that there is a sealed enclosure surrounding at least one of the parts and the seal, by exerting on this part an elastic action which tends to apply it to the other without preventing the air from escaping from the closed space in the enclosure when the pressure in the enclosure is less than in the closed space , and in that a vacuum is created in this enclosure to determine the exit of the air from the enclosed space in the enclosure, then that the external pressure is admitted into the enclosure so that it can release. definitely folds the two pieces on top of each other.
With this process, the deaeration is easily ensured at ordinary temperature, therefore without expensive accessory means or delicate handling. It takes place without having to spare any particular organs on the object subjected to the operation. If it is a container, it, after treatment which does not cause any deterioration, can be used for other subsequent operations.
The process applies to any deaeration. It is particularly advantageous for ob taining the evacuation of the air from the containers intended to receive oxidizable products, food products (canned food, for example); In this case, the operation can be combined with a subsequent introduction of inert, aseptic or antiseptic gas. It can also be used for other products, metal powders, pyrophoric products, etc.
But it can also include multiple applications in which the partial or total deaeration of an object is sought, such as: the evacuation of watches, that of incandescent lamps, of radio valves or others, of the fixing of objects by vacuum on vertical or inclined surfaces (vacuoplating), sterile preservation of surgical tools, etc.
The invention a. also for object a positive dis for the setting in this-Book of the process. This device is characterized in that it comprises an enclosure which is intended to enclose in a sealed manner at least one of the parts and the seal, the wall of the enclosure being traversed by a member making it possible to exert an elastic thrust against the room that the enclosure can receive and means for creating a vacuum in the enclosure, then allowing the ambient air to enter therein. The appended drawings illustrate two exemplary embodiments of the method which is the subject of the invention and simultaneously showing, by way of example, two embodiments of the device.
Fig.1 is a device for deaerating containers seen in vertical section.
Fig. 2 is a vacuum plating device.
The apparatus for deaerating the receptacles, as shown in fig. 1, consists of an autoclave box 1, the bottom 2 of which is connected to the cylinder dre 3 forming the pump body, in which a piston 4 moves by any appropriate means, mechanical or manual. The box 1 is closed by a movable cover around an axis 6 and which can be secured in its closed position by any device 7.
The cover comprises a frame 5 on which is mounted an elastic membrane 8, -for example of rubber, fixed by bolts 9 between a ring 10 and a plate 11. The center of the membrane 8 is connected by a member, below. after called movable cross 12.
The movable cross has four branches 13, 14, 15, 16. The branch 13 is articulated to a pin 17 fixed to the frame 5. The branch 14 is subjected to the action of the spring 18 which tends to push it downwards so adjustable by the device 19 and limited by the screw 20. This same branch carries an operating handle 21. The branch 15 is fixed to the membrane 8. The branch 16 forms a distribution box. The assembly of the two branches 15 and 16 is pierced in its center so as to produce a conduit 22 connected to the vents 23.
The conduit 22 is connected to the pipes 24 and 25, respectively comprising the taps 26 and 27 connected to the flexible or rigid pipes 28, 29. At 30, the non-return valve is provided; 31 is a purge valve.
In the autoclave box 1 is disposed -unie removable annular rigid part 32 constituting a support opposing the excessive deformations of the membrane 8 downwards. In the bottom of the box 1 is disposed a support washer 33 serving to receive the container to be deaerated. This washer 33 is provided with radial grooves placing the box 1 in communication with the 1st cylinder 3.
In the box 1 is also provided iin lifting member of the container placed on the washer 33; this member is composed of a ring 34 connected to a rod 35 sliding in a sliding joint 36 when it is actuated by the handle 37. 38 is a vacuum or pressure indicator manometer.
Associated with the device which has just been described is liquid tank 39 containing, depending on the applications, degassed water, glycerin, mercury or any other suitable liquid. Into this tank plunge the pipes 28 and 29 as shown: the pipe 28 opening at the bottom in the liquid, the pipe 29 opening at a higher level out of the liquid.
The operation of the apparatus is as follows: At the start of the operation, after opening the cover, the receptacle 40 to be deaerated is placed on the washer 33. This container is provided with a cover 41 and a suitable waterproof seal 42. Once this container is in place, the cover 5 of the box 1 is closed and the adjustment member 19 and the screw 20 are adjusted, so that the branch 15 of the movable cross comes to rest elastically on the cover 41, immobilizing the receptacle and ensuring on the cover 41 a pressure which makes it tight, thanks to the seal 42, to any inflow of liquid.
The valves 26 and 27 being open, the piston 4 is lowered. Through 28 and 22, there is a suction of the liquid from the tank 39 which flows into the box 1 and into the upper part left free of the cylinder 3.
The tap 26 is closed. The udder is raised ton 4. The air which was in the box 1, around the container 40, as well as in the pipes 22, 24, 25, is discharged by 29 and escapes into the atmosphere by lifting the valve. 30. At the end of the maneuver, it is the liquid, discharged by the piston 4, which fills the harmful spaces as well as the interval between the receptacle 40 and the box 1. The lifting of the piston 4 is stopped as soon as the liquid escapes through 29 by falling back into tank 39. A further downward movement of piston 4 causes a vacuum in box 1.
But as soon as a vacuum is obtained, an overpressure occurs inside the container 40, during operation, which lifts the cover 41. This lifting is made possible due to the elasticity of the membrane 8 which allows the upward movement of the movable cross 12, the branch 15 remaining applied to the cover 41. This thrust can be momentarily and completely eliminated by an upward action of the handle 21, for example when looking for a extensive degassing. It can also be obtained by the action of the screw 20 in the case of vacuum degassing.
The air contained in the container 40 escapes until the internal pressure of the container has again become substantially equal to that prevailing inside the box 1, that is to say very low, almost zero . Then the elastic membrane 8 returns to its initial position. The cover 41 not being pushed back by the internal pressure of the container 40, .re takes its initial position. The container 40 is thus emptied of the air which it contained and completely deaerated. It is also possible to collect the gas discharged from the container 40 in a reservoir 43 provided for this purpose and connected to the three-way valve 27. The piston 4 is then raised to its starting position. The purge valve 31 is opened, which puts the box 1 in communication with the external pressure.
The piston 4 then descends the liquid plagued by the cylinder 3. The external pressure tends to apply the cover 41 on the receptacle 40 through the intermediary of the tight seal 42, the vacuum prevailing inside 40. It suffices open the lid 5 of the box 1 to collect the deaerated container 40, the maneuver being facilitated by the elevator 34-37. For a new operation, a new container 40 to be deaerated is placed in a box 1. Once the cover is closed, the piston 4 is raised; the liquid contained in cylinder 3 fills the space between box 1 and receptacle 40.
The descent of the piston 4 then creates a vacuum again, as indicated previously. As can be seen, the operation is ensured by simple maneuvers. The production of a vacuum inside the container is obtained without having to provide thereon other ori fice than the actual opening of the container, so that the container is recoverable after use.
Deaeration is thus obtained at ordinary temperature, without involving any heating detrimental to the contents of the receptacle. The vacuum obtained when cold is also dry. It can thus be seen that the process described advantageously replaces the delicate and expensive heat treatments with a simple, rapid and efficient operation at room temperature. It is also possible to provide for the introduction into the deaerated container, a suitable gas, inert, aseptic or antiseptic. It suffices, in the last phase of the operation, to put the box 1 in communication via the pipe 25 with a reservoir 43 of the desired gas, for example by means of the valve 27, in this case provided with three ways, or by any other means.
In fig. 2 is shown a similar device intended to allow the attachment of an object on a vertical wall by creating a vacuum or a vacuum between this object and the wall (vacuoplacage). By way of example, the attachment of a tablet 44 to a wall 45 will be described below, said tablet having a cavity 46 in which the de-pressure (or vacuum) is provided and being applied to the wall 45, by via a gasket 47. If in particular it is a part 44 of glass or the like fixed to a wall 45 of glass, the gasket 47 is preferably made of transparent material, of a plastic or other product.
The device making it possible to perform the fixing comprises a sealed envelope 1, similar to the autoclave box of the previous example. This envelope 1 is open on the left. Its free edge is provided with an elastic annular ring 48 capable of forming a suction cup against the wall 45 ensuring the momentary maintenance of 1 on the latter. At its opposite end, the casing 1 has an elastic closure, similar to the cover, described in the previous example, exerting a slight pressure on the object 44. This elastic closure is composed of the frame 5 articulated, about an axis 6 and having a closure member 7.
An elastic membrane 8 is fixed to the frame 5 with a bearing surface 32 which opposes excessive deformation. The center of the membrane is connected by a branch 15 to the lever 49 which can oscillate around the axis 17. The lever 49 is biased on the left by the spring 18 in an adjustable and limited manner. of the screw 20. The branch 15 is provided, inside the casing 1, with an extension 50 applying to the object 44 and capable of presenting devices for attaching said object 50 (not shown ) ..
At his. lower part, the casing 1 is connected to a cylinder 3 in which the piston 4 can move. A connection can be established between the cylinder 3 and the annular ring 48, as shown in 51-52-53, 51 being a pipe provided with the valve 52 with tap 53. At the upper part of the casing 1 is arranged the distribution member 22 to 31 in relation to the liquid tank 39.
To fix the part 44 on the wall 45, this part 44, possibly supported by the rod 50, is brought into contact with 45 with the interposition of the seal 47. The device is adjusted so that a slight pressure tends to apply the part. 44 by the action of the elastic members 8 and 18. The casing 1 is placed as shown, the crown 48 in contact with the wall 45. Either by a slight pressure, or by suction by means of the assembly 51-52- 53 connected to cylinder 3, a vacuum is created in the ring 48; this forms a suction cup and maintains the casing 1 and its accessories in the position indicated.
By lowering the piston 4, a suitable suction of liquid is created, coming from 39 in the casing 1. By raising the piston 4, the air is evacuated and the liquid fills the casing 1. A new operation of the piston downwards creates a vacuum in the enclosure 1. The air retained in the cavity 46 exerts a pressure which slightly separates the part 44 from the wall 45 and escapes into the enclosure 1. But this weak lifting does not causes no appreciable movement of the part 44 under pressure from the elastic membrane 8 and thus held in position.
By then opening the purge valve 31, the pressure of the casing 1 returns to equilibrium with the external pressure and exerts on the part 44 whose cavity 46 has been emptied of its air, a significant pressure which ensures its final fixing on wall 45.
