Der neue Farbstoff ist ein :schwarz- violettes Pulver, das sich in konzentrierter Schwefelsäure mit violetter Farbe löst und Baumwolle aus orang-er Küpe in grauen Nuancen färbt.
Als Verbindungen, die den erstgenannten Rest abzugeben imstande sind, kommen bei- spielsweise das 5,8 - Diehlo:r - 1,2 - naphth- thioindoxyl und dessen Anile, als Verbindun gen, die den zweitgenannten Rest abzugeben imstande sind, kommen beispielsweise das 1,2-Naphththioindoxyl bzw. dessen Anile in Betracht. Die Kondensation der beiden Komponen ten kann vorteilhaft in einem indifferenten Medium, so z.
B. in Lösungsmitteln wie Chlorbenzol oder Eisessig, durchgeführt werden.
Das dem vorliegenden Verfahren z. B. als Ausgangsstoff dienende 5,8 - Dichlor -1,2 - naphththioindoxyl kann nachdenAngaben,des Hauptpatentes erhalten werden. Anile können daraus in bekannter Weise durch Umsetzen mit Nitrosoverbindungen, z. B. mit p-Nitroso- dimethylanilin, hergestellt werden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 401 Teile a-(4'-Dimethyl-amino)-anil des 5,8-Dichlor-1,2-naphththioisatins und 200 Teile 1,2-Naphththioindoxyl werden mit <B>10000</B> Teilen Eisessig mehrere Stunden im siedenden Wasserbad erwärmt.
