Bumper device for watchmaking bearing. So that a bumper device of the kind used in watchmaking to allow the axis of a moving body, of the balance for example, to rest momentarily by its rod against the block of the bearing then to resume exactly its place when the effect of the shock which caused this displacement has ceased, is perfect, it is necessary that the pierced stone, in which the pivot of the mobile turns, remains parallel to itself in the displacements. It should only perform translational movements.
Any overturning of this stone is a danger for the mobile's pivot.
The object of the invention is a bumper device for a watch bearing, characterized by a pierced stone placed freely on the bottom of a cavity of the bearing body and centered by a tapered recess made in a suspended part which rests on the edge of part of the wall of the cavity, on the inner surface of which it is centered and held in place by an elastic member acting via a counter-pivot.
The appended drawing represents, by way of examples, three embodiments of a positive device according to the invention.
All these figures are sections through a plane passing through the axis of the mobile to be protected. Referring to fig. 1, 10 designates the rooster board. It comprises, as usual, a bore concentric with the axis of the mobile, in the particular case the balance, bore in which is introduced a bearing body 11 which rests on the cock board and serves to maintain racket 12.
This bearing body is hollowed out with a cavity 13, the bottom of which is drilled to leave the rod 14 of the balance. The pivot 15 is housed in a drilled stone 16, of usual shape and size, the hole of which is olive.
The upper edge of the mantle of this pierced stone is in contact with the walls of a frustoconical recess 17 provided inside a suspended part 18, made of metal bearing concentrically on a circular ridge of the interior surface of the cavity 13. In this suspended part 18 is housed the counter-pivot 19. This stone is also of usual shape and size.
An elastic disc 20, crimped in the part. upper part of the bearing body, presses on the counter-pivot 19 and maintains by its intermediate the suspended part 18 in place. The part of the outer surface of this part, by which it bears on the bearing body, is a spherical zone. This part 18 rests on the angle of a battue 22, seen all around the cavity 13.
When a shock is felt on the watch to which the device is applied, the pivot 15 drives the pierced stone 16, which then executes a translational movement until the rod 14 touches the edge of the hole through which it penetrates inside the bearing housing.
In doing so, it moves the suspended part 18 against the effect of the elastic disc 20 which, when the effect of the shock has been absorbed, brings the whole back into place. There is therefore, in this bumper, no possibility of twisting the pivot 15 of the mobile, because the displacement of this pivot is so minimal that the angle from which the axis of the mobile moves is only d. 'a fraction of a degree.
The stones used here are of the shape and size commonly used in watchmaking. They therefore do not offer any manufacturing difficulty. Despite this, it is possible to obtain with their use a device in which the parts in contact only touch on lines, so that the friction and the dangers of adhesion due to the decomposition of the lubricant are reduced to a minimum.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, we find all the parts and or ganes which were named next to fig..l. They are designated by the same numbers. The suspended part 18 is, like that of the previous figure, a body of revolution; its outer mantle is, for the most part, tapered. Towards its large base; it comprises- a flange 21, by means of which this suspended part rests on the angle of the battue 22 which surrounds the cavity 13 of the bearing body.
The centering of the suspended part 18, under the effect of the elastic disc 20, is effected by the cooperation of the frustoconical part of its outer mantle and the ridge formed by a puncture made in the bottom of the battue 22. This device works like the one in the previous figure.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the shape of the. suspended part 18 differs from that of the previous example. It is also a corps of revolution. Its exterior is mostly cylindrical and terminated at the top with a larger diameter rim with a rounded profile. It is by means of this rounding 23, which cooperates with an edge 24 of the bearing body, that this suspended part 18 returns in place under the action of the elastic disc 20 after it has been taken out of its adjustment under the effect of a side impact.
In all the embodiments described, the counter-pivot 19 is freely adjusted in the suspended part. During an axial impact, this stone can therefore be lifted and comes back into place under the pressure of the elastic disc 20. However, this counter-pivot could also be driven out by force into the suspended part. The latter would then follow the movement of the counter-pivot during the axial movement of the pivot.
