Process for the production of an honorable honoazo dye. It has been found that valuable, chromable monoazo dyes are obtained if aminoogynaphthalenes which are acylated in the amino group and which can couple with diazo compounds in a position adjacent to the OH group and which have the general formula

correspond,
in which pure means aryl radical substituted by at least one sulfonic acid group, combined with those diazo compounds which contain a hydrogyl or carbogyl group in the o-position to the diazo group.
The dyes obtained in this way are suitable for dyeing wool, in which case they are conveniently chromed on the fiber in a one- or two-bath process. Then mainly gray to olive shades are produced, which can be characterized by very good fulling, potting and decade integrity.
The present patent relates to a process for the production of a chromable monoazo dye, characterized in that - 1-amino-7-ogynaphthalene in the presence of pyridine with benzoic acid-3-sulfoehlorid in 1- (3'-sulfobenzoylamino)
-7- ogynaphthalene is converted and this component is combined in an alkaline solution with di- a.zotierter 4-chloro-2-amino-l-oi-ybenzene ver.
The new dye dyes wool from an acid bath in red-violet tones, which turn into a deep blue-gray when chromed.
Example: 15.9 parts of 1-amino-7-ogynaphthalene are dissolved in 25 parts of pyridine and, in the case of 20, 25 parts of benzoic acid-3-sulfochloid are added. The mixture heats up to 50-60. The mixture is heated to 60-70 for a further 2 hours, then allowed to cool, and a solution of 15 parts by volume of 30% sodium hydroxide solution and 25 parts of sodium carbonate in 150 parts by volume of water is added to the pyridine solution.
The mixture is cooled to 0-5 and, with stirring, a diazo solution made from 14.5 parts of 4-chloro-2-amino-1-oxybenzene is run in in a conventional manner. After stirring for 6 hours at 15-20, dye formation has ended. So much 30% hydrochloric acid is added that the solution clearly turns blue Congo paper, filtered and washed with 10% hydrochloric acid until the filtrate is colorless. expires.
The dye is then dissolved in 500 parts of water at 60 ° with 6 parts of sodium carbonate, the solution is filtered to remove small amounts of insoluble products and the dye is separated off by adding 50 parts of sodium chloride.
The new dye is a dark powder that dissolves in water with a violet color and dyes wool from an acid bath in red-violet tones, which, when chromium-plated, change to a deep blue-gray with very good fullness, potting, carbonization and decal fastness .
The dye is also suitable for dyeing wool using the single-bath chrome process.
