Dann lässt man innert 2 Stunden 100 Teile 24'o/aiges Ammoniak zutropfen.
Process for the production of copper-containing disazo dyes It has been found that valuable copper-containing disazo dyes can be produced if one uses disazo dyes, which are known as water-soluble

correspond, where X is an amino group, allows copper-donating agents to act under such conditions that splitting of the -O-alkyl groups with formation of the o, o'-dioxyazo copper complexes takes place.
The disazo dyes used as starting materials in the present process can be obtained, for example, by adding a tetrazotized 3,3'-dialkoxy-4,4'-diaminodiphenyl, in particular dianisidine, in any order on the one hand to a 2-amino free of other water-solubilizing groups -5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid and
EMI0001.0018
where R is a benzene residue free of water-solubilizing groups and n is a positive integer with a value of at most 2.
Making groups have only the three sulfonic acid groups given in the formula below and, on the other hand, coupled with 2-oxynaphthalene-6,8-disulfonic acid as free acids of the general formula. The amino group of 2-amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid can either be unsubstituted or, for example, a benzene radical free of water-solubilizing groups or a preferably low-molecular aliphatic acyl radical free of water-solubilizing groups,
z. B. have an acetyl radical, or an aromatic acyl radical as a substituent.
According to the present process, particularly valuable dyes are obtained when starting materials of the general formula are used. The benzene radical R can have simple substituents, for example low molecular weight alkyl or alkoxy radicals or halogen atoms.
In the following CTTf some derivatives of 2-amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid are mentioned, which, when reacted with the other components in the specified manner, lead to starting materials that result in valuable dyes during coppering:
2-phenylamino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid, 2- (p-tolyl) -amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid, 2 (p-chlorophenyl) -amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid, 2- ( p-Methoxyphenyl) amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid, 2-benzoylamino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid, 2- (p-chlorobenzoyl) -amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid, 2- (2 ' , 4 'dichlorobenzoyl)
-amino-5-oxynaphthaa-7-sulfonic acid. The process according to the treatment of the disazo dyes of the formulas (1) or (2) with copper

This formula undoubtedly gives the correct stoichiometric amounts of copper and the correct position of the copper atoms in the complex; on the other hand, the distribution of major and minor valences is in the

where X has the meaning given at the beginning, generally have the disadvantage of flocculating in concentrated dye liquors and leveling them out poorly on natural and regenerated cellulose fibers. Surprisingly, the dyes obtainable according to the process do not show this disadvantage.
Also dye mixtures, at least 40% from dyes of the formula (3)
and at most 60% consist of the copper complexes obtainable by dealkylating coppering of the disazo dyes of the formula (4), show no flocculation phenomena and level out well on cellulose fibers. Such mixtures can
are obtained by dealkylating coppering-releasing agents in such a way that the corresponding o, o'-dioxyazo copper complexes are formed with splitting of the alkoxy, in particular methoxy groups contained in the diaminodiphenyl component. In many cases, the method has proven particularly useful, according to which copper plating is carried out in an aqueous medium for one to several hours in the vicinity of 100 ° C. using copper tetrammine complexes in the presence or absence of excess ammonia.
In some cases, the process of Swiss Patent No. 261365, according to which work is carried out in the presence of oxyalkylamines, in particular ethanolamine or the copper complexes derived therefrom, is particularly advantageous.
The dyes obtained have o, o'-dioxyazo copper complexes and are not yet clearly in accordance with the general formula complex bond of copper.
Some copper complexes made from the disazo dyes of the formula of a mixture containing the dyes (2) and (4) in the specified ratio or by mixing the finished, metal-containing dyes in the specified ratio, or by using the starting dyes during the preparation Coupling with a mixture of 2-oxynaphthalene-6,8- and -3,6-disulfonic acid performs.
The copper-containing disazo dyes according to the present invention can be used for dyeing and loading a wide variety of materials, such. B. silk, but especially fibers made from natural and regenerated cellulose, can be used. So he keeps blue to navy blue tones of general my good fastness properties, in particular very good light fastness, which is also a usual crease-proof treatment, z. B. withstand by means of urea-formaldehyde synthetic resins.
These dyes are also well suited for the process of dyeing cellulosic fabrics according to the continuous method, according to which the fabric is treated on the entire surface with water-based, alkaline to neutral mixtures, which are complex nickel or preferably copper compounds of direct azo dyes and amines which have at least two amino groups separated from oxy groups by two carbon atoms, and the dyes are then fixed in non-aqueous medium on the tissues treated in this way.
Because of their good drawability for cellulose-containing fibers, the new dyes are particularly suitable for producing navy blue tones, and for this purpose it is also particularly noteworthy that they can be made from relatively simple, easily accessible starting materials.
In the following examples, unless otherwise stated, the parts are parts by weight, the percentages are percentages by weight, and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius. Example 1 73 parts of 4,4'-diamino-3,3'-dimethoxydiphenyl are tetrazotized in a solution of 185 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid in 1000 parts of water by adding 41.6 parts of sodium nitrite. The solution obtained in this way is poured into a solution of 52 parts of 2-oxynaphthalene-6, set by adding sodium carbonate to a pH of 7 to 8, for 10 minutes at a temperature of about 6,
8-disulfonic acid and 40 parts of 2-oxynaphthalene-3,6-disulfonic acid poured into 1000 parts of water. The pH is then adjusted to 9-10 by adding more sodium carbonate. After half an hour, the suspension of the monoazo dye is poured into a solution of 108 parts of 2-benzoylamino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid in about 1500 parts of water at 10, which has an alkaline reaction to brilliant yellow paper.
100 parts of 24% ammonia are then added dropwise within 2 hours. After four hours of stirring at 10 to 12, the coupling is complete. In order to convert the disazo dye into the copper complex compound, 300 parts of 24% aqueous ammonia, 150 parts of copper sulfate and 90 parts of monoethanolamine are added to the reaction mixture and the mixture is heated to 85 to 90 parts for 12 hours. The dark blue copper complex is deposited by looking. It dyes cotton and regenerated cellulose in reddish-tinged navy blue tones with excellent lightfastness.
A similar dye which produces even more reddish navy blue tones is obtained if 92 parts of 2-oxynaphthalene-6,8-disulfonic acid are used instead of the mixture of 2-oxynaphthalene-6,8- and -3,6-disulfonic acid.
In both cases, the second coupling can also be carried out using 113.5 parts of 2- (4'-chlorobenzoylamino) -5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid and also copper-containing dyes, the cellulose fibers in navy blue, are obtained Color tones.
Example 2 73 parts of 4,4'-diamino-3,3'-dimethoxydiphenyl are dissolved in a solution of 185 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid in 1000 parts of water at 0 to 4 by adding 41.6% Share sodium nitrite tetrazotized. The solution obtained in this way is for 10 minutes at a temperature of about 6 in a solution of 91 parts of 2-oxynaphthalene-6,8-disulfonic acid in 1000, which has been adjusted to a p, I value of 7 to 8 by adding sodium carbonate Parts poured water.
A pH of 9 to 10 is set by adding more sodium carbonate. After half an hour, the suspension of the monoazo dye is poured into a solution of 104 parts of 2-phenylamino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid in about 1500 parts of water, which has an alkaline reaction to brilliant yellow paper. 100 parts of 24% ammonia are added dropwise over the course of 2 hours and the mixture is stirred at 10 to 12 hours for 4 hours.
The copper compound can be converted into the disazo dye according to Example 1. The dye, isolated by looking and filtering, dyes cotton and regenerated cellulose in strong marine blue shades of very good lightfastness.
Dyes with similar properties are obtained if, instead of 2-phenylamino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid, 115 parts of 2- (4'-chlorophenylamino) - 5 - oxynaphthalene - 7 - sulfonic acid or 113.5 parts of 2- (4'-Methoxyphenylamino) -5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid is used.
Dyeing instructions 100 parts of cotton are placed in a dyebath containing 3,000 parts of water 1.5 parts of the dye obtained according to Example 1 and 1 part of anhydrous sodium carbonate, and dyeing is increased for half an hour the temperature to 90, 40 parts of crystallized sodium sulfate are added and the color is 90 to 95 for a further half hour. The cotton is then rinsed and! finished as usual. It is colored in real, reddish navy blue tones.
