Boîte étanche pour montre et instrument de mesure. L'objet de .la. présente invention est une boîte étanche pour montre et instrument de mesure, comportant au moins -deux pièces, par exemple une calotte avec fond et une lunette entourant sa paroi, maintenues emboîtées. par un dispositif -de serrage;
La fi-. 1 est une vue die côté de la pre mière forme, dont la fig. 2 est une coupe partielle suivant T I; la fig. 3 est une coupe partielle d'une deuxième forme d'exécution, -dont la fig. 4 montre un détail; la fig. 5 est une vue de côté d'unie troi sième forme -d'exécution, dont la fig. 6 est une coupe partielle suivant VT-VT, et la fig. 7 montre un détail;
La face 8' de la rainure et celle 9' de l'ouverture sont. donc inclinées l'une par rapport à, l'autre et les axes de la rainure et de l'ouverture se coupent vers l'extrémité gauche de celle-ci lorsque les pièces de la boîte sont montées, mais non serrées; c'est à cet endroit qu'un coulisseau, composé d'une partie prismatique 10 et d'une partie cylindridue solidaire 11, est introduit dans la boîte;
En poussant chaque coulisseau vers la. droite, sa partie prismatique coulisse dans ladite ouverture. tandis que l'autre glisse dans la rainure; il s'ensuit que le coillisseau 1_0-I1, poussé ii force, agit à la façon d'un coin, reslxetive- ment sur les surfaces 9' et 8', inclinées l'une par rapport à l'autre;
Dans la. deuxième forme d'exécution repré sentée à la fin-. 3 et dont le coulisseau est montré en fi--. 4, la rainure 12 de la paroi 1 de la. calotte est: en forme de demi-queue d'aronde et reçoit une des parties 13 du cou- lisseau de forme correspondante, tandis que l'autre partie 14 de celui-ci. de section rectan gulaire, agit. dans une ouverture 9 de la lu- nette semblable à, celle de la. première forme d'exécution;
poussé ;i force pour effectuer .le serrage des pièces de la boîte par coincement. Deux petits Bossages, qui n'ont pu être représentés, pra tiqués iii moyen d'un poinçon dan, la rainure ;
Dans la troisième forme d'exécution, mon- i-rée aux fig. 5 et 6, la rainure 8 de la. calotte 1-2 et l'ouverture 9 de la lunette 3 ne se différencient (le celles de la première forme d'exécution qu'en ce que la première est plus larme que la seconde, afin d'emprisonner le coulisseau formé de deux parties cylindriques coaxiales 16 et 17, agissant respectivement dans .la rainure et ,deus l'ouverture;
Pour éviter la détérioration des surfaces agissantes du cou- lisseau et celle des pièces de la boîte en prise, le coulisseau pourrait posséder des plats, comme montré en fig. 7;
Waterproof box for watch and measuring instrument. The object of .la. The present invention is a sealed case for a watch and a measuring instrument, comprising at least two parts, for example a cap with bottom and a bezel surrounding its wall, kept nested. by a clamping device;
this box is charac- t6risée in) that this device comprises at least one groove formed in the internal part, at least one elongate opening formed in the external part and inclined with respect to.
the groove, and at least one slide engaged both in the groove and in the opening so that, pushed lengthwise from the outside of: the. box, it tends, by wedging between the groove and the opening, to make the inner part penetrate into the other.
The accompanying drawing represents, to. As examples, several embodiments of the sealed box forming the subject of the invention.
The fi-. 1 is a side view of the first form, of which FIG. 2 is a partial section along T I; fig. 3 is a partial section of a second embodiment, of which FIG. 4 shows a detail; fig. 5 is a side view of the third embodiment, of which FIG. 6 is a partial section along VT-VT, and FIG. 7 shows a detail;
figs. 8, 9 -and 10 are side views of the other three embodiments.
In all the embodiments shown, the box, -of rectangular shape, is formed of a cap comprising a wall 1 and a bottom 2, come in one piece, and a net read 3 which surrounds .la. , wall 1 and carries the horns 4; between this bezel and the cap 1 are tight the edges of the glass 5 in unbreakable material and an -elastic seal 6 interposed between them -and the end of the wall 1. This seal, in plexigum for example, is housed in a location of the ice, limited by a ledge 7.
In the first embodiment, my view in figs. 1 and 2, it is made in the walls of the cap 1-2 and! Of the telescope 3, at the ends near the horns, respectively over the entire length of the wall 1, rectangular longitudinal groove 8 inclined relative to the plane of the box and a rectangular longitudinal opening 9, parallel to said plane.
The face 8 'of the groove and that 9' of the opening are. therefore inclined relative to each other and the axes of the groove and the opening intersect towards the left end thereof when the parts of the box are fitted, but not tightened; it is at this point that a slide, composed of a prismatic part 10 and of an integral cylindrical part 11, is introduced into the box;
to decrease the specific pressure, dune wear, this part 11 is adjusted in the groove 8 in the. wall 1 by two parallel plates Il 'and Il ", while its part 111 is housed in the opening 9 of the bezel 3.
By pushing each slide towards the. right, its prismatic part slides in said opening. while the other slides into the groove; it follows that the coil 1_0-I1, pushed by force, acts like a wedge, reslxetively on the surfaces 9 'and 8', inclined with respect to each other;
it therefore tends to penetrate the, cap 1-2 in the liulebte and thus produces, by jamming, the desired tightening of the glass and of the joint between the wall 1 and the bezel 3. The, part 1.7 of the slide is is towards the left end (the prismatic part 10, that is to say at the rear clc, this one in the direction of tightening, so that the combined action of the.
thrust exerted on the blade and the friction resistors or> orée not a torque tending to make it tilt and take it out of the box. This part II could be of rectangular section, obtained by stamping, for example.
In the. second embodiment represented at the end. 3 and whose slide is shown in fi--. 4, the groove 12 of the wall 1 of the. cap is: in the form of a half-dovetail and receives one of the parts 13 of the slide of corresponding shape, while the other part 14 of the latter. rectangle section, acts. in an opening 9 of the lens similar to that of the. first form of execution;
to avoid the loss of the slides and to facilitate the fitting of the cap in the telescope, these slides will preferably be fitted beforehand in their space; they will be imprisoned by a device described below and which will suitably limit their course.
In order to be able to perform this fitting, each slide is placed against the device locating it in the position which corresponds to the intersection of the axes of the groove 12 and the opening 9, a position which corresponds to an interior vertical passage 15 of the bezel , which is dimensioned according to the part 14 of the slider protruding from the wall 1. It is therefore this vertical passage which makes it possible to mount the bezel on the cap and it is from this position that each slider is.
pushed; i force to clamp the parts of the box by wedging. Two small Bosses, which could not be represented, made by means of a punch in the groove;
i half-dovetail of the wall 1, constitute the device used to limit the course of the slide in said groove, in order to avoid its loss and to facilitate the fitting of the cap in the bezel. If this groove emerged from the wall of the cap only - incqit on the side where the slide begins to be pushed to clamp the parts - of the
box, a single boss, stopping said member facing the interior vertical passage 15 of the bezel. would suffice. This boss could be replaced by a part, of section corresponding to the shape of the groove. 12, which would be prepared to be able to be fixed by friction in said groove,
for example by arching it in the direction of its .longueur or by means of at least one spring blade. obtained by splitting the. piece and slightly distorting said blade.
In the third embodiment, shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the groove 8 of the. cap 1-2 and the opening 9 of the bezel 3 are differentiated (those of the first embodiment only in that the first is more tear than the second, in order to imprison the slide formed of two parts coaxial cylindrical 16 and 17, acting respectively in .la groove and, deus the opening;
at the point of intersection of the latter two, when the parts of the box are mounted loosely, a cylindrical cavity 18 has been formed in the bottom of the groove, sized to receive the cylindrical part 16 of the slide and to allow fit the cover in the telescope since the other part 17 -dudit
the slider does not protrude from wall 1. It is then sufficient to pull the slider forward, using tweezers for example, then to push it by force, to the right, as in: the previous embodiments, to tighten the parts in the box in the same way.
To avoid the deterioration of the acting surfaces of the slide and that of the parts of the engaged box, the slide could have flats, as shown in fig. 7;
, in this osas, the cavity 18 would preferably have a cross section corresponding to that of the part of the sliding member in the groove - so that said slide is correctly oriented to engage in the latter and d during the opening.
In. the first three shapes: in the execution already described, there is only one slide on each side of the rectangular box, between the horns. This arrangement provides two points of application of the clamping force.
If the bezel and the cap constitute perfectly rigid frames, this clamping force will be distributed uniformly over the entire circumference of the case and each element of the seal will also be compressed.
If the box is, Wide - and if the bezel is narrow and thin, for example, and made of not very resistant metal, the uniform distribution of the force can no longer be guaranteed and it could happen that the elements of the seal more distant -of the league connecting the -two points of application of the effort no longer.
sufficiently compressed to ensure tightness.
The fourth, fifth and sixth embodiments, shown respectively in FIGS. 8, 9 and 10, remedy this inconvenient, because they have two pairs of slides, one on each side of the box, between the horns,
creating four points of application of the clamping force. In the fourth embodiment, my view in FIG. 8, the cap 1-2 has a horizontal groove 19, milled over the entire length of the wall, at both ends near the horns.
To each of these grooves correspond two straight openings 20 made in the bezel 3.
These openings, inclined relative to the groove, are arranged symmetrically with respect to the plane perpendicular to the winding stem and passing through the middle of the case and in such a way. that their axes intersect that of the groove towards their end closest to the plane of symmetry, when the parts of the box are mounted, not tightened.
This allows the introduction of two sliders 21 similar to that 10-11 of the first embodiment and working in the same way as the latter, in the groove and the respective openings, to ensure the clamping of the parts. of the box when placed from the center out.
In the fifth embodiment, shown in FIG. 9, the groove 22 of the casing 1-2 has the shape of a chevron symmetrical with respect to a plane perpendicular to the winding stem and passing through the middle of the case.
The apertures 23 of the telescope are then horizontal and their axes in the extension of one another and at a height such that one can introduce two slides 24, similar to those of the previous example, towards the ends adjacent -two -openings. The displacement of the slides outwards ensures the clamping of the parts of the box.
These last two embodiments allow the use of any of the slides described above; it suffices that the profile of the groove corresponds to that of the slide used.
The two openings in the bezel could meet, the bridge separating them having been made only for a question of solidity.
In the sixth embodiment; 1-shown at fi-. 10, the groove 25 of the cap 1--2 is horizontal and its cross section in the form of a half dovetail. As in the fourth embodiment, the telescope carries, on each side, between the horns, two symmetrical openings 26. hais, instead of being straight, these openings are curvilinear so that the inclination of the. tangent at a point of the curve on the.
horizontal groove varies from a maximum at their end towards the middle of the box, to a minimum at the outermost point. This minimum can go up to zero. The sliders used 27 are similar to that of FIG. 4, except that the part 27 'working in the opening is cylindrical because of the variation -de inclination.
As in fig. 3, we have. provided in the bezel, a vertical passage 28 for mounting it on the cap when the clamping members are in place in their initial position.
This arrangement makes it possible to achieve a more energetic clamping with an equal useful stroke of the slide and for the same force exerted horizontally on the latter. Indeed, the normal component of the. thrust exerted increases as the inclination between the groove and the opening decreases.
This same advantage could be obtained by a device similar to that of the fifth embodiment, but where the two portions of the groove would then be curvil.ibnes.
He goes. without saying that this groove or curvilinear opening device can be applied in the case where there is only one. single slide. of each Gâté in the box, between the horns.
Other forms of sliders could. be used in the latter form of execution, but it is always necessary that the part of the slide in engagement with the element. curvilinear is a cylinder.
