Robinet.
Tap. The present invention relates to a valve, characterized in that it comprises a tubular valve body which laterally comprises a flow channel and which extends a connecting piece carrying the seat of a valve, a valve attached < B> at the end of a rotating rod arranged axially in the valve body and which carries at its free end an operating lever, and an axially guided annular cam in the valve body, immobilized therein by an adjusting nut screwed on at the free end of the body and on which lugs carried by the valve stem are supported by a return spring ,
the profile of this cam being such that a rotation of the rod of about 90 ' determines an axial displacement of said rod ensuring, in one direction, opening and, in the other direction , closing the valve.
Under these conditions, all of the internal organs of the valve thus constituted is n capable of being mounted in the valve body by simple fitting, the retention of these components being able to be ensured immediately by the screwing of the above-mentioned nut. Disassembly is done just as easily, after unscrewing the nut, which, in the event of scaling, gives any layman the possibility of cleaning the tap for obtain a normal flow. On the other hand, the tightness adjustment of the valve can be carried out by hand by screwing this same nut, this screwing having the effect of bringing the cam more or less closer to the valve seat. on which rest the lugs of the valve stem.
The appended drawing represents, by by way of example, an embodiment of the valve forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal axial section of the valve.
Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the cam and the valve in the position corresponding to the opening of the valve. The valve shown comprises a tubular body 1 provided laterally with a flow channel 2.
This body is screwed on, by enclosing a seal 3. in naked part, 4 comprising a threaded tube 4a allows both its connection to the tank on which the valve is to be mounted, el; in which the seat of the clapel is located at 5 . The valve consists of a shutter disc 7 of sufficiently plastic material (such.
fiber or leather), fixed by means of a screw 8 to the end- of a rotating rod 6, el, (comes to him s' apply on the seat 5. On the valve stem 6 are provided two diametrically opposed lugs 9 which rest on a cam- < B> 10 loose mounted on the stem 6, but that a stop screw 11, fixed to the body 1. valve and, engaged in a longi tudinal groove 10a, of said cam, prevents (turning it.
Behind the cam 10 is-. screwed into the body 1 a nut 12 for fixing and adjustment. A the end. external of the rod 6) is fitted with an operating handle 13 than a screw 14, accessible from the outside and screwing into a straight hole, 6a provided in the rod, subject to the latter.
The nut 12. is provided with a recess 12a. in which is housed a compressed spring 15 which rests on the lever 1.3 and returns the shutter 7 backwards while maintaining the lugs < B> 1) of the stem 6 applied to the. came 10.
The cam lf) has two notches 101), diametrically opposed # in which the pins 9 are likely to be lodged. A these notches follow on two ramps 10th eoinport- ing respectively a curve of small radius which ends in a flat part limited by a shoulder 10d.
For the assembly of the valve, the rod 6 of the valve, with all the components which it carries, is inserted in the horn s 1, and it is held #I - p in place by the nut 1-9. In the open position of the valve, the pins 9 of said tio-e are engaged in the notches 101j of the cam 2), the lever 13 occupying a substantially horizontal position- talc. In the closed position, these pins are placed on the ramps 10c,
the handle 13 occupying a substantially vertical position (fig. 1). The valve is therefore closed by a rotation of 90 '< / B> of the handle, this movement being limited by the shoulders] Od (the cam against which the lugs abut 9. The opening takes place by rotating the handle in the opposite direction.
When the shutter 7 does not close the valve, due to its wear, it suffices (to screw it on the nut 12, so to bring closer the cam 10 of the seat ") and thus ensure the blocking of the shutter.
The entire valve c can be dismantled by simply unscrewing the nut 12. The valve described ensures rapid flow under low pressure to upstream, and is remarkable in particular for its simplicity (the consiruclion, the, sfirety and the easy adjustment of its tightness, and its extreme ease (the assembly and of disassembly, allowing to the user to carry out these operations for maintenance (the valve without the intervention of a specialist.
These various properties make the described tap advantageously usable, in particular, as a tap for boilers or for a bain-marie for kitchen appliances, although it is naturally capable of being used at < / B> other applications.
