Man erhält etwa 40 Gewichtsteile Farbstoff in kristal liner Form.
Die in fast allen gebräuchlichen Lösungsmitteln sehr schwer löslichen Kri- stalle erhält tnan, aus 1'tlridiii oder Chlorben zol umkristallisiert, in langen. gebündelten rotorangefarbigen Nadeln vom Smp. 3.59 bis 361". Sie M,en sieh in konz. Schwefelsäure sehr schwer reit blass"elber Farbe.
Additional patent to the main patent No. 229841. Process for the production of the leuco-sulfuric acid ester of a nub dye. The subject of the present additional patent is a process for the preparation of the leuco-sulfuric acid ester of a vat dye, which is characterized in that the dye, as it is obtainable by condensation of 5.7-dichloro-3-oxythionaphthene with 4.5-dichloroacenaphthenquinone,
converted into the leuco-sulfuric acid ester by treatment with a reducing agent and a sulfur trioxide delivering esterifying agent in the presence of a tertiary base.
The preparation of the leucosulfuric acid ester can, for example, by treating the dye in the presence of a tertiary base, such as pyridine or dimethylaniline, and an esterifying agent which provides sulfur trioxide, for example chlorosulfonic acid, methyl or ethyl chlorosulfonate, sodium or chlorosulfonate Oleum, with i4letallen, for example with iron or copper.
You can also first prepare the leuco compound of the vat dye by catalytic reduction and then supply it with sulfur trioxide or a sulfur trioxide. Esterify compound in the presence of a tertiary base.
Example: In 100 parts by weight of dried pyridine, 20 parts by weight of chlorosulphonic acid are added dropwise at about 5 ° C. with stirring is obtainable by condensation of 5.7-dichloro-3-oxythionaphthene with 4.5-dichloroacenaphthenquinone, and 7 parts by weight of copper powder are quickly added in. After removing the ice cooling, the temperature is gradually allowed to rise to room temperature and then increased about 40 C.
At this temperature, the mixture is stirred for 2 to 3 hours. After this time has elapsed, a solution is present that is only clouded by excess copper. This is poured into 100 parts by weight of ice water and allowed to sit for some time. The bulk of the pyridine and acid are separated off by pouring off. The semi-solid residue is taken up in 500 parts by weight of 5% sodium hydroxide solution and the solution is subjected to vacuum distillation.
At 20 mm and 60 "the remaining pyridine is driven off in about 1 hour. The pyridine-free alkaline solution is diluted to 2000 parts by weight and clarified.
The sodium salt of the leuco-sulfuric acid ester is extracted from the deep red-brown solution by adding sodium chloride. It is colored brownish red. The new leuco sulfuric acid ester delivers on cotton. Spun rayon and viscose rayon orange, e-colored prints with good wet fastness properties.
The starting dye can be obtained by condensation of 44 parts by weight of 5.7-dichloro-3-oxythionaphthene in 500 parts by weight of glacial acetic acid with 50 parts by weight of 4.5-dichloroacenaphthenquinone. About 40 parts by weight of dye are obtained in crystalline form.
The crystals, which are very sparingly soluble in almost all common solvents, are obtained in a long time when recrystallized from 1'lridiii or chlorobenzene. Bundled red-orange needles with a melting point of 3.59 to 361 ". They M, en look very difficult to ride pale yellow in conc. sulfuric acid.
