Dans la position de l'organe de eominande représentée, un déplacement axial de l'or gane de commande 24 ouvre le conduit 2, et la position axiale de l'organe de manoeuvre en détermine le débit. On déplace alors angulai- rement l'organe de manoeuvre 26;
Mixer tap. There are various types of mixer taps used and specially adapted for mixing hot and cold water. However, these mixer taps do not meet all needs; in particular, they do not make it possible to vary the flow rate of the mixture, while keeping the same ratio between the flow rates of hot water and of cold water.
Thus, the user must again adjust, by trial and error, the temperature of the mixture eha, - as soon as he wants to change the total flow rate of the mixture and in particular after each stop.
The present invention relates to a mixing valve comprising at least two fluid supply conduits and a mixing chamber opening onto an evacuation conduit. This mixer tap eliminates the disadvantages mentioned,
by the fact that the passage section of each supply duct is determined by a member mechanically connected to an operating member making it possible to move it angularly and axially, the angular position of the first member determining the ratio: of flow rates of each of the feed conduits, while its axial position determines the total flow rate of the mixture.
The accompanying drawing shows, as a d7egem- ples @and schematically, some embodiments of a mixing valve according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a sectional view of a first form .d'execution; The fi-. 2 is a partial sectional view of a second embodiment; Fig. 3 is a following partial-sectional view, the line III-III of FIG. 2; Fig. 4 is a partial sectional view showing a third embodiment.
According to fig. 1, the mixer tap comprises a pipe 1 for supplying hot water, a pipe 2 for supplying cold water, a mixing chamber 3, and an evacuation pipe 4. The supply pipes 1 and 2 are each provided with a shutter member 5-6 9 with an adjustable position. Each closure member 5-6 is subjected to the action of a spring 7-8 tending to apply it to a seat 9-10 arranged in each of the conduits 1 and 2.
These shutters 5 and 6 are each my tees on a rod 11-1? one of the ends of which slides in a bar hole. 13 '\ 14 formed in a plug 15-l6 capping the end of a chamber 17-l8. Each of these chambers opens onto an orifice 19-20 intended to be connected respectively to a cold water pipe and to a hot water pipe (not shown. The other end of each of the rods II and 12 passes through a guide sleeve 21 and is intended to come into engagement with a control member.
The latter is constituted by a rod 22 guided in a sleeve 23 and which carries an eccentric cone 24. The latter is machined along an axis forming an angle with respect to the axis of the. rod, and constitutes the control organ of the shut-off members 5 and 6. This cone 2'4 is integral with an operating rod 25 having at its end a fork between the arms of, which is pivoted a control member. maneuver 26. A finger 27, integral with the member 26, is engaged in a circular groove 28 provided in a body 29 rigidly fixed to the body of the mixing valve.
A gland 311, of known construction, prevents any leakage of fluid along the. operating rod.
The operation of this mixing valve is as follows: In the rest position (position shown in fig. 1), the two obturating members 5 and 6 rest on their respective seats 9-10 and completely close the conduits of 'fluid supply 1 and 2.
To open the valve, we press on the actuator 2.6, which has. for effe t to partially open at least one of the ducts of a-led fluid by lifting one of the shutter or ganes of its seat.
In the position of the eominande member shown, an axial displacement of the control member 24 opens the conduit 2, and the axial position of the maneuver member determines the flow. The actuator 26 is then moved angularly;
which causes a rotation of the control member 24 about the axis of the rod 2'2. This angular displacement causes a reduction in the passage section of the duct 2, and at the same time an opening of the duct 1. of the fluid born. It can therefore be seen that a rotation of 180 "of the actuator would cause the duct 2 to close and the duct 1 to open, the latter then having a passage section equal to that which the duct 2 previously had.
Thus, for a 180 "rotation of the actuator, it would be possible to gradually change the ratio of the flow rates of the conduits 1 and 2 of
EMI0002.0039
while maintaining the same total flow rate of the duct 4. In practice, the angular displacement of the actuator is limited to approximately 120, 'by the groove 28. Such an angular displacement is sufficient to achieve all the flow ratios. required from the intake ducts 1 and 2.
When, by this maneuver, the temperature of the water leaving through the discharge pipe has been adjusted, it is possible, by a further axial movement of the control member, to adjust the desired total flow rate from 0 to 1, without modifying the ratio of the flow rates of each of the conduits 1 and 2. The embodiment shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 is exactly similar to that described above, except that the control rod 25 carries a rack 31 in engagement with a pinion 32 integral with a handwheel 33.
The latter is guided in a bushing 34 screwed into a capsule 35 which covers the control rod 25. This sule cap is screwed onto the body of the valve, (it carries a skirt 36 having a recessed sector 37, in which the rod is engaged. 38 connecting the flywheel to the pinion 32t The operation of this form of execution is exactly similar to that described previously.
Rotation of the handwheel around the axis of: the rod 25 makes it possible to adjust the ratio of the flow rates of pipes 1 and 2, that is to say to adjust the temperature of the outgoing mixture by the evacuation duct 4. The angular displacement of the flywheel around the axis of the rod 25 is limited to approximately 120 by the recessed sector 37.
Finally, the rotation of the handwheel around its axis makes it possible to adjust the value of the total flow.
In order to avoid excessive axial displacement of the capsule 35 during its angular displacement, a fine-pitch thread can be provided; - but, in any case, this angular displacement: being limited to approximately 120, the axial displacement of: this capsule cannot be very considerable, so that in general it is possible to provide a normal pitch thread.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 4, a collar 40, carrying an axis 41, is pivoted on the outer wall of the -guide of the rod 25. On the axis 41 oscillates the actuator 26, which has a slot 43 in which is engaged an ankle 42 integral with the branches of a fork carried by the rod 25. The angular displacement of the collar is limited by a stop screw 44 whose end: is engaged in a groove 45 made in the body of the valve, on approx. ron 120.
Some embodiments have been described here by way of examples and with reference to the accompanying drawing; but it is obvious that other forms of execution adapted to each case can be envisaged.
One could, for example, replace the shutter members and the control member by a single member consisting of a hollow and -cylindrical plug. This plug could be housed between the supply conduits 1 and 2, its recessed inner part being in direct communication with the mixing chamber. Lights made .dans the walls of this valve to establish: or .d'interrupt communication between conduits 1 and 2 and the mixing chamber.
The angular position of the slots and therefore of the plug determining the ratio of the flow rates .des conduits 1 and 2, while: the axial position of the plug determines the total flow rate of the mixture.
