Die neuen Farbstoffe zeichnen sieh durch ein sehr gutes Ziehveirmögen, sehr gute Wasser- und Waschechtheit und sehr gute Lichtechtheit aus. So übertrifft der Farb stoff aus N-Butyl-i-but,yl-aminobenzaldehyd und Cya.nessigsäureäthylester den bekann ten Farbstoff aus Dimethylaminobenzaldehyd mit Cyanessigsäureäthylester in der W asser- eehtheit;
Beispiel: 114 Gewichtsteile Cya.nes-sigs,äureä.thyl- ester werden mit ?35 Gewichtsteilen pa.ra-N- Butyl-isobutyl-aminobenzaldehyd vom Kpl,;
Chem. Zentralblatt1926, 1I, 391, B. 59, 1202, ff. Kp" 142 C.
Process for the production of a bidhin dye. It is known to produce polymethine dyes by condensation of p-diethylaminobenzalde @ hyden with compounds containing reactive @ ethyl or methylene groups, such as. B. cyano-sic acid esters, cyanoacetic acid amides. Malonitrile, indoline, methylogyindole, α-alkylpyridine and others.
The dyes obtained are suitable for dyeing celulose esters and ethers, for example acetate silk.
It has now been found: that valuable polymethine dyes are obtained if compounds with reactive methyl or methylene groups are reacted with those p-dialkylaminobenzaldehydes in which the sum of the carbon atoms of the alkyl groups is 7 to 10, or by the selects both reaction components so that the alkyl groups in which the sum of the carbon atoms is 7 to 10.,
are distributed across both components. Suitable for implementation are e.g. B. p-aminobenzaldehydes of the following general formula:
EMI0001.0032
in which R 1 and R 2 are identical or different alkyl radicals of normal or branched chains in which the sum of the carbon atoms of these alkyl radicals together is at least 7 but not exceeding 10, and in which X can be hydrogen, alkyl or halogen.
The p-dialkylaminobenzaldehydes and the compounds with reactive methyl or methylene groups can also be used in this way. select .that the sum of the carbon atoms in the alkyl groups of the end products, i.e. in the two condensing components, is 7 to 10.
The expression "reactive methyl or llethylene group" is to be understood as meaning those methyl or methylene groups which react with an aldehyde group with elimination of water and with the formation of a carbon-carbon double bond. .
Suitable compounds with reactive methyl ode_ llethyleiigriippeii come z. B. Consider: derivatives of cyanoacetic acid, such as their esters.
Ethers and amides, derivatives of malonic acid, such as lalonic acid dinitrile and llalonic acid ethers, pyrazolones, indolines, alpha- and gammaleth- ylindolines, --L # Iethi = loxyindolines, alpha- and gamma.- alkyl pyridines
alpha- and gamma- alkylquinolines, etc.
The new dyes are characterized by very good drawability, very good fastness to water and washing and very good fastness to light. The dyestuff from N-butyl-i-but, yl-aminobenzaldehyde and ethyl cyanoacetate surpasses the well-known dyestuff made from dimethylaminobenzaldehyde with ethyl cyanoacetate in terms of water-fastness;
The new dye considerably surpasses the known dye from p-butyl-, B-chloro-ethy laminobenzald, ehyd with cyanoacetic acid-ethyl ester in its drawability on acetal silk.
The new dyes see also suitable for dyeing pre-pickled, z. B. tannin cotton and can partly be converted into colored lacquers with good fastness properties with complex phosphorus-tungstic acids.
The subject of this patent is a process for the production of a metal dye which is ordered by reacting p-N-butyl-isobutyl-aminobenzaldehyde with ethyl cyanoacetate.
The new dye colors cellulose esters and ethers in very clear, greenish yellow tones. It has excellent drawability on acetate silk, very good wet fastness properties and very good light fastness.
Example: 114 parts by weight of Cya.nes-sigs, Äureä.thyl- ester with? 35 parts by weight of pa.ra-N-butyl-isobutyl-aminobenzaldehyde from Kpl ,;
177 to 179 (obtainable by reacting N-butylisobutylaniline with llethylformanilide and phosphorotychloride by a known process) in 400 parts by weight of alcohol with the addition of 0.4 part by weight of piperidine for several hours He heats the boil until the dye has finished forming. The alcohol is then distilled off, and after a while the dye crystallizes in brownish yellow crystal glands with a melting point of 51 to 53 C.
The dye dyes cellulose esters and ethers in very clear, greenish-yellow tones. It has excellent drawability on acetate silk, very good wet fastness properties and very good light fastness.
The N-butyl-isobutylaniline can be prepared in a known manner, cf. Chem. Zentralblatt 1926, 11, 391, B. 59, 1202, ff. Kp "142 C.
