Description

  

  Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen Kondensationsproduktes.    Es wurde gefunden, dass man zu einem  neuen Kondensationsprodukt gelangt, wenn  man das Gemisch der     a-Chlormethyläther     aus der handelsüblichen Mischung aus vor  wiegend     Octadecylalkohol    und einer gerin  geren Menge     Hexadecylalkohol    auf     Thio-          harnstoff        einwirken    lässt.  



  Die Umsetzung wird zweckmässig in  Gegenwart eines Lösungsmittels, wie Benzol,  Aceton, vorgenommen.  



  Das neue Kondensationsprodukt bildet in  Form des Chlorhydrats ein farbloses Pulver,  das von warmem Wasser zu einer beim       Schütteln    stark schäumenden Lösung auf  genommen wird. Es eignet sich insbesondere  zum     Wasserfestmachen    von Textilien.

      <I>Beispiel:</I>  Eine handelsübliche Mischung aus vor  wiegend     Octadecylalkohol    und     einer    gerin  geren Menge     Hexadecylalkohol    wird     in    übli  cher Weise     in    den     a-Chl.ormethyläther    Über  geführt. 25 Gewichtsteile des so erhaltenen       a-Chlormethyläthers,        gp.3    185 bis<B>188',</B> wer  den in 77     Gewichtsteilen    trockenem Benzol  gelöst.

   Man fügt 6,4     Gewichtsteile    fein pul  verisierten     Thioharnstoff    unter     raschexri    Rüh  ren hinzu und erhitzt sodann etwa 1     Stunde     auf 75  , wobei für eine gute     Durchmischung     Sorge zu tragen ist. Nach dem Abkühlen  wird das ausgefallene     Kondensationsprodukt,     dem aller Wahrscheinlichkeit nach die       Formel

    zuzuschreiben ist, von der Mutterlauge ge  trennt, mit Benzol gewaschen und bei nied  riger Temperatur vom anhaftenden Lösungs-    mittel befreit. Man erhält ein farbloses Pul  ver, das von warmem Wasser zu einer beim  Schütteln stark schäumenden Lösung auf-      genommen wird.

   Das neue Kondensations  produkt eignet sich insbesondere zum Was  serabstossendmachen von Textilien. Eine  waschechte     Hydrophobierung    wird bereits er  zielt, Renn das mit der wässerigen Lösung  getränkte Gewebe, beispielsweise aus Baum  wolle, bei etwa 75   getrocknet wird.

PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen Kondensationsproduktes, dadurch gekenn zeichnet, dass man das Gemisch des a-Chlor- methyläthers aus der handelsüblichen Mi- sehung aus vorwiegend Oetadecylalkohol und einer geringeren Menge Hexadecylalkohol auf Thioharnstoff einwirken lässt. Das neue Kondensationsprodukt bildet in Form des Chlorhydrats ein farbloses Pulver, das von warmem Wasser zu einer beim Schütteln stark schäumenden Lösung auf genommen wird. Es eignet sich insbesondere zum Wasserfestmachen von Textilien.
