Description
Verfahren zur Darstellung einer Azolverbindung. Vorliegendes Patent bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren zur Darstellung einer Azolverbin- dung, welches dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass man N-Methyl-benzimidazol mit einem Kupfersalz einer organischen Säure behandelt.
Das neue Kondensationsprodukt wird durch Umkristallisieren aus Pyridin in farb losen Kristallen vom Fp. <B>2060</B> C erhalten. Es besitzt die Konstitution eines N, N'-Di- methyl-bis-benzimidazols von der Formel:

mit der auch die Analysenwerte im Einklang stehen. Es soll als Zwiscbenprodukt zur Her stellung von Farbstoffen Verwendung finden.
Beispiel: 6 Teile N-112ethyl-benzimidazol, herge stellt zum Beispiel gemäss Berichte 22, S. 644, werden in etwa 60 Teilen technischem Tri- chlorbenzol unter Zugabe von 9 Teilen Kupfer acetat kurze Zeit zum Sieden erhitzt. Durch Abkühlen und Verdünnen des Gemisches mit Benzin scheidet sich das Reaktionsprodukt ab.
Process for the preparation of an azole compound. The present patent relates to a process for the preparation of an azole compound, which is characterized in that N-methyl-benzimidazole is treated with a copper salt of an organic acid.
The new condensation product is obtained by recrystallization from pyridine in colorless crystals with a melting point of 2060 C. It has the constitution of an N, N'-dimethyl-bis-benzimidazole of the formula:

with which the analytical values are also consistent. It should be used as an intermediate product for the manufacture of dyes.
Example: 6 parts of N-112ethylbenzimidazole, produced for example according to Reports 22, p. 644, are briefly heated to the boil in about 60 parts of technical grade trichlorobenzene with the addition of 9 parts of copper acetate. The reaction product separates out by cooling the mixture and diluting it with gasoline.
