Badger with a reservoir for liquid soap. The invention relates to a badger having a reservoir for liquid soap. This badger is intended, for example, to replace the badgers currently used by hairdressers.
The shaving brush according to the invention comprises a device having a piston forcing the liquid sa von to flow in the center of the brush, this piston being integral with a rack set in motion by means of a pawl by means of a lever articulated with this pawl and on which successive pressure is exerted, the brush being removable so that it can be replaced after each use of the shaving brush.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the badger according to the invention.
Fig. 1 represents this badger in elevation; Fig. 2 shows this badger without its brush; Fig. 3 is a view from the end of FIG. 2; Fig. 4 shows the badger in longitudinal section; Fig. 5 shows, on a larger scale, the piston propulsion mechanism; Fig. 6 shows an accessory for filling the badger reservoir with liquid soap; Figs. 7 to 10 represent the brush of this badger and show how to con fect it.
The shaving brush shown comprises a tubular sheath 1 forming the reservoir for the liquid soap and closed at one of its ends by a disc 2 provided with a central channel extending into a spout 3 carried by this disc. A sleeve 4 carrying a propulsion mechanism engages in the reservoir sheath 1 via its other end.
The sheath 1 is extended by a cylinder 5 serving as a guide for a plug 6 to which is fixed one end of a rack 7 passing through the sleeve 4 and integral with a piston 8 sliding in the reservoir 1.
The disc 2 which carries the nozzle 3 is of a larger diameter than that of the sheath 1; its projecting edge is provided with slits 9 which give this edge a certain elasticity. This peripheral elasticity is used to hold this disc 2 elastically in engagement with a stamped bowl 10 in which the brush 11 of the brush is mounted. This brush is so inexpensive to manufacture that it can be sacrificed after being used once.
The conical spout 3 engages in a sealed manner in a central conical bore of a part 12 on the cylindrical outer wall of which the tubular brush 11 fits. It can therefore be seen that the liquid soap exiting the channel of the spout 3 penetrates the center of the brush to lather when smearing. The inner end of the brush is clamped between the outer wall of the part 12 and the wall of a bore of the brush holder cup 10 in which the brush engages.
To fill the tank of the badger with liquid soap, the following method will be used: The liquid soap is prepared and maintained at a suitable temperature in an insulating bottle, a thermos flask for example. This bottle has a stopper with rubber hose, as shown in fig. 6.
To fill the reservoir, the nozzle 3 of the badger is introduced into the pipe and the filling is carried out by suction, by bringing the piston 8 back.
In a countersink 13 of the sleeve are housed two pinions 14 each meshing with one of the two toothings carried by the meshing 7. Between these two pinions is a ratchet 15 integral with the pinions. The ends of the axis 16 of the pinions and of the ratchet protrude into. countersinks 17 of the chon 4 sleeve. On the side opposite the pinions 14 relative to the rack 7, the sleeve carries a lever 18 rotating on an axis 19 and returned to its rest position by a spring 20, the other end of which bears on the sleeve 4.
A pawl 22 rotating on an axis carried by the lever 18 is subjected to the action of a coil spring 23 hooked to the extremity bearing on the sleeve 4 of the res out 20. This spring 23 urges the pawl 2? at. come into engagement with the teeth of the ratchet there. This pawl 22 carries a pin 26 sliding on a ramp 24 formed by the bottom of a countersink 25 of the sleeve 4, so that when the lever 18 returns to its rest position, the pawl is released from the ratchet by the ramp 24 .
The pawl passes between the two teeth of the rack 7 and through a slot of the latter.
When it is proposed to soap a beard, the tank 1 of the badger is previously filled with liquid soap by bringing the stopper 6 back; the brush is then mounted in the brush holder bowl. By exerting successive pressures with your finger on lever 18, this is done. advance the piston 8 which drives out the liquid soap in the center of the spring.
It should be noted that at any point in its stroke, the piston can be driven backwards for a new suction of liquid soap, by exerting a traction on the rack using button 6, because when the operating lever 18 is in its rest position, the pawl is released from the ratchet.
When the piston reaches the end of its travel, a stop 27 of the rack meets the end 28 bearing on the sleeve 4 of the return spring 20 and pushing this end relaxes the spring 23.
The pawl is then released from the ratchet. Thus, if one continues to act on the lever 18, the members (the mechanism cannot be damaged, the rack not being able to advance beyond the point at which the spring 23 is relaxed as a result of the displacement of the. end 28 of spring 20.
We are thus warned that the piston is at full stroke and that it is necessary to re-arm the mechanism.
The tubular brush is made as follows: A strip of woven fabric widely spaced (fig. 7), or other flexible material is coated with glue and a light layer of bristles is placed on it, all of which protrude widely by a dab of the band. The strip is coated with glue again, then wound up on a split mandrel (fig. S), exerting sufficient tension until a suitable diameter is obtained, then the strip is cut. After drying, the tubular pin ceau thus formed is removed from the mandrel.
For the presentation of the brushes to the trade and especially so that the customers of the hairdressers are reassured about the authenticity of the origin, each brush could be provided with a guarantee index, for example a strip of paper imprisoning the bristles, and attesting to its aseptic character. The brush could be enclosed in a cellophane bag that the operator would open in the presence of the client.
