Electric timepiece. The present invention relates to a timepiece with electric maintenance of the balance movement.
The escape wheel comprises two coaxial toothed rings of equal diameter, wedged face to face on the same axis such that their teeth, whose teeth have an inclined face, are offset with respect to each other by half of their step.,
the rotation of this wheel being determined by a finger moved by the oscillating movement of the balance and which acts alternately on the inclined faces of each toothing. The manufacture of this wheel is simple,
its operation is safe and does not require delicate adjustments.
The transmission to the escape wheel of the movement of the balance can be achieved by means of a fork oscillating on an axis and comprising, at one of its ends, two conductive faces with which a conductive pin integral with the balance cier alternately comes into contact, the function of these two conductive faces and of the pin being, on the one hand, to drive the fork in its reciprocating movement and, on the other hand,
to close the electrical circuit, this end also carrying two horns and a dart: isolated having the effect of preventing the overturning of the fork, the other end of which is terminated by a finger engaged in the escape wheel.
The robust construction of this escapement ensures that watches fitted with it are exceptionally safe in operation and highly resistant to use. The current consumption is minimal.
The drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the present invention.
Fig. 1, shows a vertical and schematic section of the entire "exhaust". Fig. 2 is a view. in plan of the detail of the end of the fork receiving the impulse of the balance, of the finger 11 which terminates the other end of the fork and controls it. escape wheel. 7, and the two tangential worm gears 8 and 9 which control the rotation of the axis of the pins 10.
Fig. 3 is a schematic plan view of the assembly of the "exhaust" showing the finger 11 which ends the fork engaged in the. escape wheel 7.
Fig. 4 is a detail, on a large scale, of a few teeth of the escape wheel indicating the successive positions of the finger 11 causing the rotation of said wheel.
The maintenance electromagnet of the movement of the balance comprises an excitation coil 1 and a curved core whose branches; are designated by?.
As shown in fig. 1, the lancing device 3, fixed on its axis 12, comprises two plates 13 and 14 integral with the axis 12. The plate 14 is provided with a guide pin 15 which, subjected to the reciprocating circular movement of the balance, acts successively on the conductive faces. 16 and 16a (FIG. 2) of the fork 5 oscillating on its axis 6. The conductive pin 15 thus communicates the oscillations of the balance to the fork.
It also has the function of alternately opening and closing the electric circuit causing the balance to oscillate, depending on whether or not it is in contact with the conductive parts. of the. fork.
This also has at this same end two horns 17 isolated by the interposition of non-conductive plates (not shown), and mounted on a stinger 18 also isolated whose tip moves in the recess 13a @ read tray 13.
The horns 17 and the dart 18 have the function, if the watch is subjected to. vibrations or excessive shocks, to oppose the reversal of the movement of the fork by abutting, the horns on the axis 12 and the dart on the circular part of the plate 13. A spiral spring 19, integral with the balance, him serves as a reminder for the outward and return movement of its oscillatory movement.
At its other end, the fork ends with a finger = 11. controlling the wheel -the escapement î mounted on the axis -20. The two worm gears 8 and 9 (fi.?) Transmit the angular movement of the escape wheel to the needle axis. after reduction.
The escape wheel 7 (FIG. 3) com takes two toothed rings provided with teeth having an inclined face, identical in size, but the teeth of which are directed in the opposite direction. These,
two crowns are fixed on an axis 20 and wedged during assembly in such a way that the point of each tooth of one of the crowns is placed exactly in the middle of the gap between two consecutive teeth of the teeth of the other crown.
The operation is: the following: When the first contact of the pin 15 with one of the conducting faces of the fork is established, the latter, in the rest pa ition of the balance, occupies the indicated position fig. 3, and the finger 11 introduced during assembly in the toothing of the escape wheel occupies position A in FIG. 4.
The action of the balance causing the fork to oscillate on the axis f> releases the finger 11 which comes into contact with the tooth 21 at point, h, and pushing back the inclined wall of the tooth? 1, slides to point c ' thus determining the rotation of the wheel by a value equal to this'.
The oscillation of the fork resuming in the opposite direction, the finger completes the path c ', <I> d, </I> makes contact at d with tooth 22 of the second crown, and pushes back to e' the inclined king of tooth 22, advancing the wheel in the same direction as before by a distance equal to ee 'and so on, thus printing on the escape wheel. the desired rotary motion.
