N-Äthylphenyltaurins in 4000 Teilen 136 Teile Natriumacetat enthaltenden Was sers hinzugesetzt.
Process for the preparation of a water-soluble nonoazo dye. The main patent describes a process according to which a new, water-soluble monoaza dye, which is particularly valuable for dyeing acetate silk, is obtained by coupling diazotized p-nitroaniline with the sodium salt of phenyltaurine in aqueous sodium carbonate solution.
According to the present modification of that process, a water-soluble monoazo dye, which is particularly valuable for dyeing acetate silk, is produced by coupling diazated 6-dichloro-4-nitroaniline with N-Äl: liylphenyltaurine.
Example: ? 07 parts of 2: 6-dichloro-4-mtraniline are diazotized by gradually adding them to a solution of 69 parts of sodium nitrite in 1,180 parts of concentrated sulfuric acid. The sulfuric acid solution is then added to 4000 parts of ice and 1000 parts of water and the resulting solution of the diazo body gradually becomes an ice-cold solution of 251 parts of the sodium salt of
N-ethylphenyltaurine in 4000 parts containing 136 parts of sodium acetate was added. At the same time as the daazo solution, sodium hydroxide solution is added at such a rate that the coupling mixture remains only slightly acidic against Congo red paper.
During the entire coupling process, the temperature of the coupling mixture is kept at 0 to 5 C. After adding all of the diazo solution, the mixture is counteracted with caustic soda. Make litmus alkaline and stir until the dye separates from the solution.
It is separated from the liquid by filtering it and then dried. The new dye forms a brown powder, which gives an orange-brown solution with warm water and a yellowish-brown solution with concentrated sulfuric acid. From neutral,
179 liquor containing table salt, the new dye acetate silk dyes in orange-brown shades with very good lightfastness.
