  Verfahren zur Herstellung von     2-Methylaminophenol.       Gegenstand     des    vorliegenden Patentes     ist     ein Verfahren zur     Herstellung    von 2-     Methyl-          aminophenol,    welches dadurch     gekennzeich-          net    ist,     dass    man     o-Propionyl-methyl-amino-          phenol    mit starken Mineralsäuren verseift.  



  Gegenüber den bisher bekannten Verfah  ren zur Herstellung dieses Stoffes ist das vor  liegende Verfahren leichter durchführbar,  und ergibt es bessere     Ausbeuten.     



  Das erhaltene     2-Methyl-aminophenol    kann  insbesondere als     Entwzeklersubstanz    verwen  det werden.    <I>Beispiel:</I>       o-Propionyl-methyl-aminophenol    (F. P.  



  151  )     wird    mit     2'0        %        iger    Salzsäure zum     2-          Methyl-aminophenol    verseift.
