A cet effet, ce jeu est constitué par un corps .creux dans les parois .duquel sont ména gées des fenêtres en regard desquelles sont montés, à l'intérieur dudit .corps, des disques rotatifs portant des indications correspondant aux différentes figures d'un -dé à jouer; la ro tation de ces disques étant -commandée au moyen d'un mécanisme d'entraînement pou vant être actionné de l'extérieur du corps creux et susceptible d'être débrayé dès qu'une impulsion convenable a été donnée aux dis ques;
L'invention sera mieux comprise à l'aide de la description complémentaire faite ci- après en référence au dessin annexé, lequel montre, à titre d'exemple seulement: Fig. 1, une vue en perspective d'un jeu suivant l'invention; Fig. 2, une coupe horizontale de ce jeu; Fi-. 3 et 4, .des coupes verticales par les lignes III-III et IV--IV ,de la fig. 2;
Semi-automatic dice game. The present invention relates to a semi-automatic dice game intended to replace the commonly used dice to play, and which makes it possible to perform all the combinations of games of a given number of dice.
To this end, this game is constituted by a .hollow body in the walls .du which windows are formed opposite which are mounted, inside said .corps, rotating discs bearing indications corresponding to the various figures of a -dice; the rotation of these disks being -controlled by means of a drive mechanism able to be actuated from outside the hollow body and capable of being disengaged as soon as a suitable impulse has been given to the disks;
and a braking device ensuring the precise stopping of the discs, so that some of the indications which they bear appear in the corresponding windows, everything being arranged so that the reading of these indications provides a result comparable to that which would be obtained by means of dice equal in number to that of said indications.
The invention will be better understood with the aid of the additional description given below with reference to the appended drawing, which shows, by way of example only: FIG. 1, a perspective view of a game according to the invention; Fig. 2, a horizontal section of this game; Fi-. 3 and 4, vertical sections by lines III-III and IV - IV, of fig. 2;
Fig. 5 and 6, similar views of a variant, FIG. 7, a side view of one of the disks used in this variant; Fig. 8 shows, in an elevational view, another embodiment. It applies in particular to a set comprising five discs, the axes of which are arranged in two parallel rows.
In the example of fig. 1 to 4, the game is constructed in the form of a cubic box 1 of any material, and the walls of which are assembled by any suitable means. On each of the four vertical walls of this box are formed three square windows la, lb, le preferably arranged at 120.
These walls also respectively bear three small bearings 2, 3, 4 corresponding two by two of a wall to the opposite wall, and in which journal shafts 5, 6, 7 and 5 ', 6', 7 'perpendicular -two by two. These trees carry respectively, in the immediate vicinity of the vertical walls of box 1, two disks 8-8, 9-9, 10-10 and 8'-8 ', 9'-9', 10'-l0 'on each of which are represented the six figures of an ordinary playing-game. These disks are arranged so that, during their rotation, said figures appear successively in windows la, lb, le.
The shafts 5, 6, 7 are coupled two by two with the shafts 5 ', 6', 7 'by helical pinions 11-1l', 12-12 '. And 13-13', and the setting of the four corresponding discs to each - of these couplings - is such that the same figures, of these disks appear so multaneously in the windows to the right of which they move.
Consequently, the three windows la, lb, le -of each of the vertical faces of box 1 show, in the various positions occupied by the disks, identical combinations of three figures that can be read in at the same time the players placed respectively opposite these faces.
On the three shafts 5, 6, 7 which constitute the drive shafts intended to transmit the movement to the other three, are wedged - spur gears 14, 15, 16. With these pinions can be brought into engagement three racks 17, 18 , 19 formed on a part 20 provided with vertical slides 20a, 20b, 20e by which it is guided on screws with spans 21, 22, 23 fixed on two brackets 24, 25 secured between the bottom and the top of the box 1.
The part 20 is capable of being -moved from top to bottom under the action .d'une rod 26 fixed on an ear 27 with which it is provided, and carrying a button 28 which passes through the top of the box 1; it is subjected, -on the other hand, to the action of a return spring 29 which tends to bring it upwards, in a position, where the racks 17, 18, 19 are out of position. sprockets 14, 15, 16.
The three shafts 5, 6, 7 finally carry stars 30, 31, 32 having six teeth each and with which three jumpers 33, 34, 35 fixed by means of screws 36, 37, 38 cooperate on two other brackets 39, 40 secured like the first between the bottom and the top 4th the box 1. The stars 30, 31, 32 are wedged in such a way -that the: jumpers ensure the stopping -discs in -position where the figures that carry these -last are exactly framed by windows la, lb, le.
The operation of the device thus established is clearly apparent from the above explanations By exerting suitable pressure on the button 28, the racks 17, 18, 19 are engaged with the pinions 14, 15, 16 and the the drive in rotation of the shafts 5, 6, 7 and 5 ', 6', 7 'and consequently of the six pairs of discs carried by the shafts is produced.
The part 20 being biased upwards by the spring 29, the racks escape the pinions 14, 15, 16 and the shafts continue to turn mad in their bearings, until the braking results from the action of the jumpers 33 , 34, 35 on stars 30, 31, 32 ensures the stopping of the mechanism under the conditions indicated above.
Figs. 5 to 7 show a variant in which the cubic box 51 is provided on three of its vertical faces with six openings 51a to 51f. Behind these three faces are mounted three disks 52, 53, 54, respectively fixed on three journaling shafts 55, 56, 57,
on the one hand, -in bearings provided on the faces of the box and, on the other hand,: dan., a central support 58 fixed on the bottom -de the box.
The discs 52, 53, 54 carry at their periphery -series of black dots and white dots (or corresponding intervals) in suitable number and arrangements so that the black dots appearing in the windows 51a to 51f -of each -of the three faces are likely to compose on these last the various figures of a dice.
It is thus also possible to achieve, by means of the three figures formed in each stop position - disks; all the combinations of a three-dice game. The drive of the three disks 52, 53, 54 can be obtained in a manner analogous to that indicated for the preceding examples, with the aid of a sliding part (not shown) guided on the support 58 and fitted with three meshes meshing with three pinions 59. 60, 61 which the shafts 55, 56, 57 carry.
Likewise, braking and stopping can "be provided by jumpers fixed on this same support 58 and acting, on stars 62, 63, 64 carried by said shafts.
Fig. 8 shows improvements made to the devices described above. As can be seen -in this figure, the plate 1 supporting the mechanism is knocked out so as to form -lugs 72 which will support the axis and the pinion 14 of each -the rotating discs 10. With the teeth of each pinion 14 cooperates with a stop pawl 33 which is also fixed on this plate 1.
Between the pinions 14 can slide a carriage consisting of a plate 20 which rests on the plate 1. This plate is guided, in its reciprocating rectilinear movements by the outer screws 20 'and the inner screws 20 "; the latter cooperating with the 20 "'mortises. This plate 20 is returned to its starting position by means -d'un res out not shown in the drawing and it has a beak or chin 73 which cooperates with the elastic latch 74.
This latch 74 is mounted on a stroller 75 subjected to the action of a spring 76 bearing on the plate 1. The latter is also knocked out to constitute the stop 77 for the automatic release of the latch 74.
The racks 17 having to actuate the pinions 14 are movable on the plate 20 which carries them, so as to be able to undergo reciprocating rectilinear displacements perpendicular to the direction of the displacements of said plate 20. The guidance is provided, for example. , by means of screws 78 which are fixed to the plate 20 and passing through the racks 17 by means of mortises 79. A central mortise 80, in the bodies of the racks 17, allows the fixing of a spring 81 between these and a stop 82, of the plate 20.
The springs 81 tending to produce the meshing of the racks 17 with the corresponding pins 14. Each rack 17 carries, laterally, two notches 83 intended to cooperate with a spring pawl 84 which carries a lug 85. On, these lugs 85 can come to push the projections 86 -dehung-es in a bar 87 disposed parallel to the toothing of the racks 17.
By actuating this bar 87 longitudinally, it is therefore possible to -move the lugs 85 -and the nozzles, pawls 84,: so as to release the racks 17 which are biased, if necessary, by their spring. clutch 81.
In antagonism with the clutch spring 81, a finger 88 integral with a slide 89 tends to disengage the rack 17 when the pivoting lever 90 is acted on by means of the spring plunger 91.
To disengage the racks 17, one pushes, following fig. 8; the bar 87 on the left, which enables the pawls 84 to be released, then the corresponding pushers 91 (II and V in the case of the drawing) are actuated. The racks 17 (position II and V) being released, an releases the bar 8 7 by which the pawls 84 are fixed in the second notch thus immobilizing said racks 17 out of the position which allows them to attack their pin. 14.
Under these conditions, if the carriage 20 is moved using the stroller 75, it can be seen that the racks II and V will not drag their corresponding pinions and discs, while the others, on the contrary, will be actuated as explained above.
Of course, the invention is not limited in its implementation to the examples shown and described, but may give rise to many other variants, both as regards the shape, boxes containing the mechanism and the arrangement of the windows as regards the constitution of said mechanism, In addition,
It goes without saying that the apparatus could be made so as to give combinations of any number of dice other than three, the numbers of rotating discs and windows being provided accordingly.
