Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung einer heterocyclischen Sulfosäure. Es wurde gefunden, dass es auffallend leicht gelingt, heterocyclische Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel:

worin g = S oder 0 ist, mit einem Alkali sulfit unter Bildung von Sulfosäuren der Arylenthiazol- bezw. Oxazolreihe umzusetzen.
Vorliegendes Patent bezieht sich nun auf ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer hetero- cyclischen Sulfosäure, dadurch gekennzeich net, dass man 2-Chlorbenzthiazol mit einem Alkalisulfit umsetzt.
Die so erhaltene Benzthiazol-2-sulfosäure ist ein neuer Körper. Sie ist in Wasser und Alkohol löslich, kristallisiert in nadelförmigen, farblosen Aggregaten, spaltet beim Erwärmen mit Salzsäure Schwefeldioxyd ab und bildet wasserlösliche, farblose Alkalisalze. Das Natriumsalz kristallisiert aus Wasser in Form farbloser Blättchen. Die neue Verbindung soll als Zwischenprodukt zur Herstellung von Farbstoffen und pharmazeutischen Pro dukten Verwendung finden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 340 kg 2-Chlorbenzothiazol werden mit etwa 1800 Liter einer 25 /oigen Natrium sulfitlösung solange unter Rühren am Rück fluss erhitzt, bis das 2-Chlorbenzothiazol völlig in Lösung gegangen ist, was nach etwa 8 Stunden der Fall ist. Nach dem Erkalten wird die entstandene Benzthiazol-2-sulfonsäure als Natriumsalz durch Zugabe von Chlor natrium abgeschieden, abfiltriert und mit konzentrierter Natriumchloridlösung ausge waschen.
Zwecks weiterer Reinigung kann die neue Verbindung gegebenenfalls aus Wasser um kristallisiert werden, woraus sie sich in Form farbloser Blättchen abscheidet. Säuert man die konzentrierte Lösung mit Salzsäure in der gälte an, so kristallisiert die freie Säure in nadelförmigen Aggregaten aus, die in Alkohol leicht löslich sind.
