In manchen Fällen, z.
Protection against putrefaction for cladding wooden masts, posts, sleepers and the like and process for its manufacture. The subject of the invention is a rot protection covering for cladding wooden masts, posts, sleepers and the like, which contains a water-soluble impregnation salt as an effective component. This impregnation salt is mixed with fibers in the subject matter of the invention.
In the anti-rot coating according to the invention, the impregnating salt is found in a mixture with fibers, in that the fibers represent the binding agent for the salt and at the same time, due to their capillary action, form a moisture reservoir that gradually releases the impregnation liquor to the wood to be protected ensures and is characterized by uniform effectiveness over a long period of time.
If the covering is now applied to the wooden parts to be protected, the impregnation salt is dissolved by atmospheric moisture and an impregnation solution is formed which penetrates the wood to be protected. The covering is expediently applied to a firm base, which can be impermeable to water or limited water permeability as required. The water-impermeable underlay can consist of jute, roofing cardboard or other suitable material and be impregnated with bitumen, tar or some other agent and thus made water-impermeable.
The production of the covering forming the subject of the invention can take place in such a way that the loose fibers are mixed in the dry state with the impregnation salt and this mixture is pressed into the form of a felt plate. The plate made in this way can then bezw later or at the same time during their production on the waterproof. limited what permeable substrate attached and attached to this. In some cases, e.g.
B. if a more gradual dissolution of the impregnation salt and a more solid connection of the same with the fibers is desired, the mixing of the two constituents can be carried out, even in a more or less moist state of the same and optionally with the addition of a suitable binding agent, see above that a moist, mushy, fibrous mixture results, which the impregnation salt in more or less dissolved state z. B. contains as an emulsion. The rot protection coating is made from this mixture.
The mixing of the impregnation salt with the fibers in the moist state can also be done in such a way that a loose fiber material is soaked through with a solution of the impregnation salt.
When the putrefaction protective clothing is attached to wooden parts that are in contact with the ground, the underneath is impermeable to water in order to prevent the impregnation solution formed from the clothing by rain etc. If, on the other hand, the free-standing head of a mast, e.g. B. a mast for electrical cables are protected from rotting, so a limited water permeability of the lower layer is desired so that from the protective covering in the form of a hat on the head of the mast on the rain, the impregnating salt dissolve and this in the mast head can penetrate.
For this purpose, Mau can see the underside of the covering with various holes after the protective covering has been attached to the outside or make it porous.
The subject matter of the invention is not restricted to the examples described; many other embodiments are also possible.
