Description

  

  Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen     N-alkylierten        Benzimidazolderivates.       Es wurde gefunden, dass man ein neues       N-alkyliertes        Benzimidazolderivat,    das     N-          Athyl-,u-heptadecylbenzimidazol,    erhält, wenn  man     ,u-Heptadecylbenzimidazol    mit einem       Äthylierungsmittel    behandelt.  



  Das     N-Äthyl-ss-heptadecylbenzimidazol     bildet in Form eines     Hydrobromids    ein farb  loses, kristallisiertes Pulver, das sich in an  gesäuertem Wasser unter Bildung stark  schäumender Lösungen klar auflöst. Es stellt  ein wertvolles Hilfsmittel für die Textilindu  strie dar.  



  <I>Beispiel:</I>  30     Teile,u-Heptadecylbenzimidazol    wer  den in einem Druckgefäss mit 100 Teilen       Äthylbromid    während 15 Stunden auf<B>125'</B>  erhitzt:. Sodann wird das überschüssige       Ä.thy        lbromid        abdestilliert    und der Rückstand  mit Benzin gewaschen und getrocknet.    Ähnlich verfährt man mit andern     Äthy-          lierungsmitteln,    z. B.     Äthylchlorid,        Diäthyl-          sulfat        etc.    Aus den so erhaltenen Salzen  kann die freie Base durch Behandlung mit  Alkali abgeschieden werden.



  Process for the preparation of a new N-alkylated benzimidazole derivative. It has been found that a new N-alkylated benzimidazole derivative, the N-ethyl-, u-heptadecylbenzimidazole, is obtained when u-heptadecylbenzimidazole is treated with an ethylating agent.



  The N-ethyl-ß-heptadecylbenzimidazole forms a colorless, crystallized powder in the form of a hydrobromide, which dissolves clearly in acidified water to form strongly foaming solutions. It is a valuable tool for the textile industry.



  <I> Example: </I> 30 parts of u-heptadecylbenzimidazole are heated to <B> 125 '</B> for 15 hours in a pressure vessel with 100 parts of ethyl bromide :. The excess ethyl bromide is then distilled off and the residue is washed with gasoline and dried. The procedure is similar with other ethylating agents, e.g. B. ethyl chloride, diethyl sulfate, etc. The free base can be separated from the salts thus obtained by treatment with alkali.

Das so erhaltene N-Äthyl-,u-heptadecyl- benzimidazol bildet in Form eines Hydro- bromids ein farbloses, kristallisiertes Pulver, das sich in angesäuertem Wasser unter Bil dung starkschäumender Lösungen klar auf löst.
