Chaise pliante ajustable.
Adjustable folding chair. The present invention relates to an adjustable folding chair which is characterized in that it comprises two support frames articulated to each other in the manner of scissors and forming the front legs and the rear legs of the chair, one back frame articulated between its two ends, by means of pivots, on the rear portions of the support frame forming the front legs of the chair, stop means provided at the lower end of said back frame and arranged to cooperate with the support frame forming the rear legs of the chair, so as to maintain the set of frames in the desired position both in the loaded state and in the unloaded state of the chair,
and a ply of flexible material, fixed to the front end of the support frame forming the rear legs and to the top of the back frame to form a seat.
The folding chair can also have, if desired, lateral support arms which can be folded over all parts of the chair when the latter is folded, as well as an articulated foot end to support the legs. .
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the folding chair, the back frame of which is more or less straightened; Fig. 2 is a side view, but with the dorsal frame tilted slightly back; Fig. 3 is a similar side view, but the dorsal frame of which is still inclined or folded down further, an articulated end of the foot supporting the legs being connected to the chair to make it suitable for use as a camp bed; Fig. 4 shows the chair in the folded state. The chair shown has two frames ca and û articulated to each other in c in the manner of scissors.
The rear portion of the frame constitutes the rear legs of the chair and its front portion constitutes the front portion of the actual seat of the chair. The frame b forms, similarly, the front legs of the chair, as well as arms d extending towards the rear and at the end of which is articulated, at points located between its two ends and by means of pivots f , the back frame e.
At the lower part of the frame e is provided a stop cross member g arranged to cooperate with the frame a by support giving rise to such friction between these two parts, but only over a certain given angle of the folding movement of the frame. dorsal e, that the frames a, b and e are kept in position both in the loaded state and in the unloaded state of the chair.
Beyond this friction bearing zone, the cooperation of the cross member g with the frame a is effected by engagement by means of notches h provided in the rear portion of the frame a. The front portion of the frame a and the top of the dorsal frame e are connected to each other by the usual ply of flexible material i which may for example be made of canvas, to form the seat.
If the cross member g is engaged in the rear notches h of the frame a as shown in fig. 1, the back frame e is in its most upright position, and if it is engaged in the anterior notches h. of the frame a, the chair is in a inclined position such as that shown in FIG. 2.
If the cross member g is allowed to slide forward towards the front part of the frame a as far as possible, it engages with the two frames a and b in the intersection angle of the latter and prevents them from continuing to move. close one on the other while blocking them rigidly in a position in which the chair is transformed into a camp bed, as shown in fig. 3.
The example shown also includes lateral support arms k, the rear ends of which are articulated on the pivots f, while their anterior ends are connected by means of bent rods m to the front portion of the frame a, the anterior ends of these arms pivoting on the connecting rods which themselves pivot in the anterior part of the frame a.
In fig. 3, there is also shown an articulated end of foot n for the legs, one end of which is provided with folding props, while its other end is established to be able to be hooked to the neck rods m.
By examining the drawing, it is understood that the various frames and the supporting arms of the chair are capable of being folded or beaten on top of each other so as to form a compact whole as can be seen in FIG. 4.
The adjustment in the desired inclined position of the chair described is effected in a reverse manner to that which takes place in known adjustable chairs of this kind, which makes the construction very advantageous from the point of view of rigidity. Another great advantage of the chair described is that, when in any of its reclined positions, it can be moved or transported even with one hand, without the risk of it being folded up or out. unfold further, as can be seen from the following:
If, for example, to transport the chair, it is grasped, as is most appropriate, either by the upper part of the frame e, or by the rear portions of the two arms 1c, we understand that by lifting the chair, the effect of The gravity of its various elements is manifested in that the rear part of the frame a is pressed upwards against the cross member g, so that the chair elements do not change their relative position.
