Automatic sslittelbuffer coupling. There are known automatic couplings for railway vehicles in which the brake lines and heating lines are automatically coupled and shut-off devices of these lines are automatically opened at the moment of coupling, while when the couplings are released, these shut-off devices are closed automatically. However, these arrangements have the disadvantage that the shut-off devices are closed automatically even in the event of unintentional coupling breaks.
In this case, however, the brake line must remain open so that the brake is activated if the clutch breaks. There are already known clutches where this is the case; however, because of their intricate arrangement, they have not acquired any practical importance.
The object is achieved in a simple manner by the invention in that the shut-off element is connected to the air line of the car by a hose. The locking device arranged on the coupling cap is dominated by a movable member of the locking device, and that a fracture link is switched on between the coupling head and the shaft of the coupling, the whole thing in such a way that if the central buffer coupling is overloaded, the coupling heads remain connected and the air line is kept open becomes.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, namely: FIG. 1 shows a top view of the entire coupling device, FIG. 2 shows a larger-scale section according to 2-2 of FIG. 1, in the uncoupled state and FIG. d the same parts as FIG. 2, but in the coupled state.
With the dome cap A is. the shut-off device B and the air coupling C connected. A hose E is connected between the shut-off device B and the brake line D of the car.
The dome head A is fastened to its shaft F by a bolt G, which is weakened at its shear-resistant cross-sections by grooves g 'to such an extent that, the cross-section of the bolt, in the area of the grooves of the. the cross sections that transmit tensile forces: the coupling, which is the weakest.
The air coupling C, the end face e 'of which is slightly above the coupling center point a \, is connected by a ball joint c' to a control member H displaceable in the housing of the coupling in the direction of the axis of the air coupling.
The control member H is pressed by a spring J against the air clutch, while the air clutch is supported against a stop a 'of the housing when the clutch is released. The control member H has a tubular extension h ', which is provided with a small recess h2 at the end and is surrounded by a rubber seal K. When the coupling is released, a butterfly valve L for the air duct is positioned against this rubber seal.
This flap has two pivot pins Z @, which are rotatably and displaceably mounted in: slots M @ of a ring M.
If two air couplings C meet, they are pushed back by the amount by which their .front surfaces J protrude from the coupling center a '. This movement is carried by the ball joint c2 to the control member H, whereby the pipe extension h 'comes to rest against the flap L and this moves away from the rubber seal K, whereupon the compressed air in the line through the recess h2 into the air coupling C. flows in,
so that the pressure on both sides of the flap L is equalized. Now the pivot pins 1 'reach the end m2 of the slots M'. The flap is raised by the remaining movement of the pipe attachment h '. It remains in this raised position as long as the couplings are in the coupled state. The flap will therefore not be visually loved even if the fracture link G and the hose E break.
If the coupling is overstressed, one of the fracture links G is torn off at its grooves g 'so that the coupling head in question is detached from its shaft F. The consequence of this is also that the hose E connected between the shut-off device and the brake line D also breaks. The two coupling heads, however, remain in the coupled state, so that the shut-off valves L also remain open.
After the break, the hose. Thus, the Bremslei lines of both train parts remain open, so that the brake is activated in both parts.
