Une forme d'exécution de l'objet de l'in vention est décrite ci-dessous en référence au dessin annexé, donné à. titre d'exemple. Sur ce dessin: La fig. 1 est une vue de côté d'une partie suffisante de la. machine à couler les planches stéréotypées pour montrer l'application de l'invention à. cette machine, les différents élé ments étant représentés dans la position qu'ils occupent lorsque le moule est fermé;
La fig. 2 est une vue de côté analogue à celle de la fig. 1, mais à plus grande échelle et montrant les dispositifs d'ouverture et de fermeture du moule dans la position qu'ils oc cupent lorsque le moule est ouvert, au mo ment où le noyau doit basculer; La fig. 3 est une vue de côté analogue à la fig. ?, montrant les éléments du moule après le mouvement initial de basculement du noyau;
Casting machine for stereotyped boards. The present invention relates to a machine for casting stereotypical boards, of the kind in which the casting mold consists of a vertical mantle or screed con cave and a convex core capable of deviating from the position it occupies for 1- molding compared to. the yoke, to come in a substantially horizontal position, with a view to delivering the cast board, this core, when in the casting position, resting on a support. swivel.
The machine according to the invention is characterized by means making it possible to move this support, in a rectilinear manner and with it the core, with a view to removing the latter from the mantle before it tilts to be brought into said position. appreciably horizontal ho.
Such an arrangement facilitates the use, in machines of this kind, of a device for fixing the die by means of which the latter can be held in the yoke when the core is removed to take the board. casting, which avoids having to replace the studs for each casting.
An embodiment of the object of the invention is described below with reference to the accompanying drawing, given to. as an example. In this drawing: Fig. 1 is a side view of a sufficient part of the. stereotyped board casting machine to show the application of the invention to. this machine, the various elements being shown in the position they occupy when the mold is closed;
Fig. 2 is a side view similar to that of FIG. 1, but on a larger scale and showing the devices for opening and closing the mold in the position they occupy when the mold is open, at the time when the core is to tilt; Fig. 3 is a side view similar to FIG. ?, showing the elements of the mold after the initial rocking movement of the core;
The fia. 4 is a horizontal section with some parts removed and on a larger scale than the fia. 2 and 3, and FIG. 5 is a view similar to that of fia. 1, made on a smaller scale and with some parts removed showing a variant of the mold closures.
The core 1 can move away from or come closer to the yoke 2 and when it is in the casting position, it is applied against the bottom half-ring 2a mounted on the support 17 of this half-ring.
In the embodiment shown, the support 17 of the half-ring pivots at its outer ends on a bar 16 provided with two rollers 18 circulating in grooves 19a formed in two consoles 19 fixed to the bottom of the yoke 2 and extending outside. this one on each of its two sides. The inner part of the half-ring support 17 carries a rod 45 and two rollers 43 circulating in horizontal paths provided on a console 44, fixed to the bottom of the yoke 2 and extending outside thereof.
The support 17 is thus brought to the normal position and can move horizontally in one direction and the other, between certain limits determined by the length of the grooves 19a of the consoles 19, in order to open and close the mold. . To move the core outwards, as well as for the initial tilting of the core which is then done, before it is brought into a horizontal position, the following mechanism is provided: The movement of the core 1 causing the opening of the mold, is controlled by an oscillating shaft 9, designated below under the name of opening shaft of the mold, which shaft is itself controlled by a pedal 8.
On the mold opening shaft 9, is wedged an arm 11 directed downwards, which is connected by a connecting rod 13 i to an arm 12 wedged on an oscillating shaft 10, below the latter. On the oscillating shaft 10 are fixed two upright arms 1.1 which, at their upper ends, enter grooves 15a formed in the inner ends of the pivoting arm 15 at their outer ends on the rod 16 carrying the half-ring. When the various elements are in the normal position shown on the fia.
1, the arms 14 penetrate into the outer ends of the grooves 15a, so that, when the pedal 8 is depressed, and that, consequently, the two shafts 9 and 10 bones wobble, the arms 14 and 15 acting on the rod 16 push the support 17 of the ring outwards, that is to say to the right at the end. 1, in order to open the mold, the elements occupying pant, at the end of this movement, the position shown on the fia. 2.
It can be seen that during this movement of the core outwards, the known rollers 3, carried by the brackets 4, fixed to the core, roll on the raceways 5 of the main frame. The following movement of the core l., To come to. the horizontal position, is obtained by causing it to tilt around the axis of the rollers 3, while the latter move on their tracks.
The mold opening shaft 9 which extends across the frame of the machine, carries, in its central part, a second arm 22 directed inwardly and called below the core tilting lever; -at its inner end, it is fork-shaped, so as to embrace the lower end of a connecting rod 21 having a groove 21a in which a pin mounted in the fork of the lever 22 for rocking the core engages . The connecting rod 21 pivots at its upper end on the support 17 of the bottom half-ring.
During the initial mold opening movement described above, the groove 21a allows the core rocking lever 22 to move without being actuated until, when the mold opening movement is complete. , the above mentioned pin comes to bear against the upper end of this groove.
The rotation of the shaft 9 then continues and, through the intermediary of the lever 22 and the connecting rod 21, the support 17 of the base half-ring and the core 1 tilt to come into the position in which they are shown in dotted lines on the fi. 3, the support 17 during this movement, rotating around the shaft II> which is then fixed. At the same time, the arms 15 turn outwards around the rod 16 under the action of the arms 14.
As the weight of the core 1 no longer loads the support 17 when this core continues to. tilt in a known manner to come into a horizontal position, the pedal 8 and the shafts 9 and 10 return to their normal position under the action of a spring 12a acting on the shaft 10, the grooves 15a and 21a allowing movements respective arms 22 and 14 carried by these shafts.
At the lower end of the core 1 are fixed two brackets 23, one on each side, carrying rollers 25 which serve, in a known manner, to guide the core as it passes from the vertical position to the horizontal position in rolling on corresponding cam tracks 26, these rollers being brought, when the mold is opened, in correspondence with the lower ends of these cam tracks when the horizontal displacement of the core towards the outside ends (fig. 2) .
To be sure that the rollers 25 properly engage the cam tracks 2,6, levers 29 follow the rollers during their horizontal movement and close the lower ends of the cam tracks 26 when the rollers are moving for come into those. The levers 29 are wedged on an oscillating shaft 28 and one of these levers is connected by a connecting rod 46 to an arm 4: 7 carried by the shaft 9 for opening the mold.
As he is. good that the lower end -of the cam-paths 26 is closed when the core 1 is brought back to. its vertical position beforehand. to the. closing the mold, means are provided to maintain the levers 29 in their raised position until the beginning of the closing movement of the mold. It is convenient to constitute these means by a latch 48, operating under the action (the gravity, pivoting on the frame of the machine near one of the levers 29 and coming into engagement with a stud 49, carried by this lever when it is in the raised position.
The release of this latch 48 at the start of the closing movement of the mold is obtained as described below and, to allow the shaft 9 opening the mold, to return to its normal position when the core has . tilted, as described above, a stud carried by the shaft 47 engages with a groove 50 of the connecting rod 46.
The horizontal movement of closing the mold of the core 1, in the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 4, is obtained by means of a pedal 37 wedged on an oscillating shaft 38, on which are fixed levers 39 engaging rollers 51 mounted on the inner side of the consoles 23, when one turns the shaft 38 by depressing the pedal 37.
To prevent pedal 3 7 from being operated before core 1 has returned to. its vertical position, a pivoting latch 53 is maintained, under the action of a spring 54, in a position such that it is engaged with one of the levers 39, so as to prevent the movement of the latter, causing the mold to close. When the core 1 is returned to its initial position, one of the rollers 51 engages with the latch 53 and lowers it, releasing the arm 39.
At the beginning of the movement of the levers 39, causing the closing of the mold, a cam 55, carried by one of these levers, comes into contact with a roller 60 carried by the latch 48 and disengages this latch from the stud 49 carried by the corresponding lever 29, which allows the lever 29 to fall under the action of its weight. to open the lower ends of the cam tracks 26.
Continuing their movement of closing the mold, the levers 39 engage with the rollers 51 and push the core 1 forward to close the mold.
In order to be sure that the core, during its movement back to the vertical position, properly engages with the support 17 of the bottom half-ring, it is advisable for the latter to tilt upwards, so to meet the descending nucleus. To effec kill this tilting, the support 17 of the half-ring is provided with an arm 61 projecting outwardly which, during the. descent of the core, engages a roller 62 mounted on a downwardly directed arm, carried by the underside of the core.
In the variant shown on the fib. 5, the shaft 38 is actuated in accordance with an additional shaft 64, to which the mold closing pedal 37 is connected. On the shaft 64 are wedged arms 65 directed upwards, connected to the bar 16_ by means of grooved connecting rods 66 which serve to effect the support of the bottom half-ring, the mold closing movement, while the levers 39 and the safety orbanews associated therewith operate as described above, the shaft 38 being connected to the shaft 6.1 by lever arms 67-68 wedged on the respective shafts and by a connecting rod 69.
In this variant, the shaft 64 is, moreover, provided with lever arms 70 connected by means of connecting rods 71 - to levers 72 which, in turn, are connected by connecting rods 73 and levers 74 to cross arms. the form of hooks 75 which slide, one on each side of the upper part of the core. The hook-shaped arms 75 engage with protrusions 76 of the core, so that, as the shaft 64 rotates inwardly to bring the bottom half-ring support inward, these bottom half-ring arms. hooks 75 engage the projections 76 and, correspondingly, bring the upper part of the core inward.
The sliding arms 75 are guided by studs 77 penetrating into grooves 78 of the arms, grooves which have a shape such that these arms are in a raised position during the movement of the core outward, so as to allow it ci to tilt later without the respective projections carried by this core coming to meet the hooked ends of the arms. A spring 79 serves to return all the levers of the return movement to their original position when the core has been raised against the yoke to close the mold.
As indicated above, the mechanism described above for opening and closing the mold, facilitates the use of devices for fixing the. die, mounted :; on the yoke, to retain the. matrix dan.-; this when the mold is open.
A device for fixing the matrix, of known form, can be used in combination with the mechanism in question, and for this reason, a device of this benr I, # has not been described here. Furthermore, since the construction and operation of such machines, to which the invention applies, are well known to those skilled in the art, it has not been considered useful to give a detailed description thereof, except as regards the device according to the present invention.
