L'objet de la présente invention est un instrument facilitant la marche, tel que canne, bâton, etc., et muni d'une ampoule électrique. Cet instrument est caractérisé par un interrupteur permettant d'allumer ou d'éteindre l'ampoule, qui est muni d'un bou ton de manoeuvre pouvant coulisser dans une rainure verticale pratiquée dans l'instrument au-dessous de la partie de cet instrument par où on le saisit d'habitude.
Le dessin ci-annexé représente, à titre d'exemple, une canne à corbin conforme à l'invention.
La fig. 1 en est une vue en élévation de profil, et la fig. 2 une élévation de face; les fig. 3 et 4 sont des coupes par- III-III, respectivement IV-IV de fig. 2.
La canne représentée se divise en trois tronçons, le premier, 1, qui est constitué par un tube de métal cylindrique dans les extré mités duquel s'engagent des portées 2, ap partenant aux tronçons 3 et 4 qui sont en bois, l'un formant le corbin et l'autre por tant la pointe. A l'intérieur du tronçon 1 est logée une ampoule 5 alimentée par une pile sèche 6 à un ou plusieurs éléments. L'ampoule 5 est vissée dans un réflecteur 7 qui est placé en regard d'une ouverture 8 du tronçon 1 et qui est fixé à ce dernier par deux saillies latérales 9 s'engageant dans les fentes 10 de deux plots 11 soudés au tronçon 1.
Une lu nette 12 qui porte la lentille 13 est fixée sur le pourtour de l'ouverture 8 par deux vis 14; celles-ci se vissent dans les plots 11 et viennent appuyer sur les saillies 9 en vue d'empêcher tout déplacement du réflecteur. Un ressort 16, dont une extrémité 17 est coincée entre la portée 2 du tronçon 3 et le tronçon 1, applique une plaque de contact 18 contre le fond de la pile, reliant électri quement le pôle inférieur de celle-ci au tron çon 1, lequel est relié électriquement au man chon de l'ampoule 5. La pile 6 bute contre un anneau isolant 20 forcé à l'intérieur du tronçon 1.
L'ampoule peut être allumée ou éteinte grâce à un interrupteur commandé par un bouton de manoeuvre 21. Ce dernier fait saillie en dehors du tronçon 1, au-dessus de la lentille, et peut se déplacer verticalement dans une rainure 21', placée un peu en des sous du corbin; il comprend une lame mé tallique 22 dont une extrémité est engagée dans un anneau isolant 25. Ce dernier est fixé au bouton de manceuvre 21 par une vis 23 et des écrous 24.
Si l'on amène, grâce au bouton de manceuvre 21, la lame 22 dans la position représentée en traits pleins en fig. 3, elle met en contact la borne supé rieure de la pile et le bout du culot de l'am poule qui s'allume donc et éclaire, par l'ou verture 8, en avant du porteur de la canne. Pour éteindre l'ampoule, il suffit de déplacer de bas en haut, en fig. 3, le bouton de ma- noeuvre 21, lequel déplace la lame 22 et l'amène dans la position représentée en poin tillé en fig. 3 où elle est éloignée de la borne supérieure de la pile.
En vue d'éviter que l'interrupteur des cende seul le long de la fente 21', le bouton peut être amené dans une rainure horizontale 26, débouchant dans la rainure verticale 21' dans laquelle il reste légèrement coincé.

The rod shown is divided into three sections, the first, 1, which is formed by a cylindrical metal tube in the ends of which engage staves 2, belonging to sections 3 and 4 which are made of wood, one forming the corbin and the other por as the point. Inside the section 1 is housed a bulb 5 powered by a dry battery 6 with one or more cells. The bulb 5 is screwed into a reflector 7 which is placed opposite an opening 8 of the section 1 and which is fixed to the latter by two lateral projections 9 engaging in the slots 10 of two studs 11 welded to the section 1 .
A clear read 12 which carries the lens 13 is fixed around the periphery of the opening 8 by two screws 14; these are screwed into the studs 11 and come to bear on the projections 9 in order to prevent any movement of the reflector. A spring 16, one end 17 of which is wedged between the bearing surface 2 of the section 3 and the section 1, applies a contact plate 18 against the bottom of the battery, electrically connecting the lower pole of the latter to the section 1, which is electrically connected to the sleeve of the bulb 5. The battery 6 abuts against an insulating ring 20 forced inside the section 1.
The bulb can be turned on or off using a switch controlled by an operating button 21. The latter protrudes outside the section 1, above the lens, and can move vertically in a groove 21 ', placed a little under the corbin; it comprises a metal blade 22, one end of which is engaged in an insulating ring 25. The latter is fixed to the operating button 21 by a screw 23 and nuts 24.
If one brings, thanks to the operating button 21, the blade 22 in the position shown in solid lines in FIG. 3, it brings the upper terminal of the battery into contact with the end of the base of the bulb which therefore lights up and illuminates, through the opening 8, in front of the holder of the cane. To turn off the bulb, simply move up and down, in fig. 3, the operating button 21, which moves the blade 22 and brings it into the position shown in a dotted line in FIG. 3 where it is far from the upper terminal of the battery.
In order to prevent the ash switch alone along the slot 21 ', the button can be brought into a horizontal groove 26, opening into the vertical groove 21' in which it remains slightly wedged.
