Tubular hearth for containers such as radiators, boilers, tanks, oir, etc. The object of the invention is a tubular hearth for receptacles such as radiators, boilers, tank, etc., of the type comprising an end part provided with a device for recovering the calories, and characterized in that this recovery device consists in hollowed-out baffles forming water blades placed on the path of the fumes., which baffles feel obtained in one piece with the tubular hearth, by casting.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example, some embodiments of the object of the invention.
Figs. 1 and 2 are two respectively longitudinal and transverse sections along line 2-2, of a tubular hearth with transverse screens arranged in baffles, said hearth being assumed to be suitable for heating a small boiler; Figs. 3 and 4 are two views respectively in longitudinal section and in elevation, of a tubular hearth with baffles arranged in a continuous helical line; Fig. 5 is a variant of the, fi-. 3:
Figs. 6 and 7 are two sections, respectively vertical along 6-6 and horizontal along 7-7, of a tubular hearth made up of contiguous sections, by the very elements of the radiator; Figs. 8 and 9 are two sections respectively longitudinal along 8-8 and transverse along 9-9, of a tubular hearth consisting of contiguous sections, by the very elements of a boiler; Fig. 10 shows an alternative embodiment of FIG. 9; Fig. 11 is a partial section taken along line 11-11 of FIG. 10.
The tubular fireplace is arranged through the water capacity to be heated - capacity of radiator, boiler, etc. - either horizontally or vertically. Its front part - or lower part respectively - forms a hearth and is arranged differently depending on the nature of the fuel to be used (grate or burner, for example). Its rear part is provided, in the known manner., With means recovering the major part of the calories contained in the fumes. These means consist, according to the invention, in hollowed-out transverse chisels <I> a, a '</I> or <I> a "</I> placed directly on the path of the fumes and con turned by them, said: hollow baffles being obtained in one piece with the tubular heating body b, by casting.
The tubular hearth can form a removable one, as in fig. 1 to 5, or be made up of the actual elements of the radiator or of the boiler @ to be heated, as in the examples in fig. 6 to 11.
In the first case, the removability of the whole of the tubular hearth is = ensured, for example, by its centering, at the end, in sockets c or in any other way.
The screens may be in the form of continuous transverse and flat water layers placed alternately on one edge, then on the other of the tubular hearth in quin conce, so as to leave the fumes a baffle path. This is the case with the embodiments of FIGS. 1 and 2, on the one hand, and 6 (t 7, on the other hand.
We can subdivide a transverse plane screen by -des, longitudinal planes, so as to. form -leaves, of water, discontinuous; a bundle of tubes oriented vertically is thus obtained if the tubular focus is horizontal or vice versa. These tubular bundles a '(fig. 8 to 11) can be considered as real water grids, the section of the tubes being advantageously that of the. fig. 11 to offer less resistance to burnt gases as they travel through the heating body.
These tubes establish a violent upward current of water in the very axis of the device (boiler, radiator or other).
The tubes can be arranged, as shown in FIG. 11, in .des different plans, to achieve an arrangement in chica nes or staggered. Said tubes could be oblique (and no longer vertical), or even curved.
Figs. 3 and 4 show screens a "formed by the deep helical creasing of the tube, which therefore has very pronounced projections inside which force the hot gases which lick them, to give up most of their residual heat.
To facilitate casting and to have a core which holds together perfectly, even in the case of tubes of great length, it may become necessary to reserve a fairly large axial orifice, as is the case in the example of FIG. 5. In this case, we can, to prevent fumes. do not take this direct axial path, have a standard chimney tube which will even have the advantage of facilitating the establishment of the draft during the. start-up of the fireplace, by direct draft.
The adjustable shutter of this tube d can. be carried out either by butterfly shutter e, as in the example of FIG. 5, or by obturator pad.
The tube e '(Fig. 8) being closed at its ends, can constitute, in itself, a sliding udder maneeuvra.ble by rod é' and pledged of a more or less extended length in the axial tunnel reserved in the center, of the helical fold and which it closes.
It is therefore conceivable that it is possible by adjusting either the shutter or needle e, or the pis ton e ', to vary the recovery of calories and, therefore, the efficiency of the tu bular hearth.
Figs. 6 to. 11 show how the tubular hearth can be produced in contiguous sections gi, g2, g3, by the very elements which constitute, by their stacking, the radiator (fig. 6 and 7) or the. boiler (fig. 8 and 9), elements connected by pins longitudina them crazy another way.
In fig. 6 -and 7, the radiator is, for example, made up of four elements with a smooth interior gi ... g4, forming a hearth and four recuperating elements gs ... g8 with hollowed out transverse flat screens followed by the . smoke box <I> h </I> giving access to the smoke outlet <I> i </I>.
Similarly, the boiler of FIG. 8 is made up of two smooth elements gi, g2 forming a focus, followed by five recuperating elements g'3 ... g'7 of which the -two first g's, g'4 with tube bundle <I> a '</I> and the three. helical folds a "with central core e.
For a radiator or a boiler thus formed by the joining of sections, the contact surfaces between elements are set and communications are established (Fig. 9) between the elements:, at the place of the wise passage of the elements. pins f.
The invention is not limited solely to the examples described and shown; on the contrary, it embraces all the variant embodiments, depending on the case and application.
