DISPOSITIF POUR CHAUDIERES.
(Inventeur : A.H. Hedberg).

DEVICE FOR BOILERS.
(Inventor: A.H. Hedberg).
The invention relates to an arrangement for boilers, comprising a tank with supply and discharge pipes for drinking water and a coating surrounding at least part of the tank, so as to form a channel. annular passage for the heating fluid, for example the circulation water of a heating boiler.
The invention essentially resides in that in said passage channel are arranged one or more -spires, by which the drinking water is brought to the reservoir or is withdrawn therefrom, and in that the supply pipes and- outlet for the heating fluid are arranged with respect to each other, so that the heating fluid and the drinking water are conducted in countercurrent with respect to each other .
According to one embodiment of the invention, one or more partitions of helical shape can be arranged in the passage channel between the turns of the coils, so that the heating fluid is forced to pass through the coils in a as large as possible.
If the drinking water is to be conducted through the coils before entering the tank, the coils effectively lead into the lower or upper part of the tank, and if the coils only extend along part of the water channel. passage, the coils themselves are efficiently arranged in the lower part of the passage channel, where the temperature difference between the partially cooled heating fluid and the still relatively cold drinking water is sufficient, to allow very good heat transmission.
If the drinking water is to be withdrawn from the tank through the coils, their inlet pipes are effectively located at the top of the tank, and if the coils only extend, in this case, along the side of the tank. a part of the passage channel, the said tubes of a-

conducted are effectively arranged in the upper part of the passage channel, so as to obtain the temperature difference necessary for a good heat exchange, between the drinking water already partially heated and the heating fluid.
Some embodiments, given by way of example, are shown in the accompanying drawings.
In all the figures, the reference 1 is a tank provided with a supply line 6 and discharge 10 for drinking water, and 2 is a coating arranged around said tank, which constitutes, with the wall of the reservoir, a channel 3 provided with a supply pipe 8 and an outlet 9 for the heating fluid.
In the passage channel 3, in the embodiment according to FIG. 1 a coil 4 passing helically around the upper part of the tank 1, one end 5 of which opens into the tank 1 near the upper part of the wall of the tank, while the other end of the coil passes through through the coating 2 and constitutes the evacuation pipe 10, for example to a hot water distribution system.
In order to achieve a higher heat exchange, a helical partition 7 can be arranged according to FIG. 2, between the turns of coil 4, this partition forces the heating fluid entering through the supply pipe 8 and flowing through channel 3, to pass along the coil 4, before it leaves the discharge pipe 9. According to the two embodiments described above, the supply and discharge pipes for the heating fluid and the drinking water are arranged so that they are conducted in countercurrent with respect to each other.
The water tank shown in fig. 3 does not differ essentially from that according to FIG. 2 only by the fact that the coil 4, which is subdivided in this case into two parts placed side by side, is arranged in the lower part of the tank and is traversed by the drinking water, before it enters the tank through the tubular end 11 opening near the bottom wall. in the embodiment according to FIG.
4, the drinking water is brought into the passage channel 3 through the coil 4 arranged at the upper part of the tank 1 or near it, the discharge pipe 11 of this serpentine opens out. at the bottom of the reservoir or near said bottom, so as to apply, also, in this case, the principle of counter-current, which is the subject of the present invention.
